New member, needing advice

Hi everyone :)
Been ttc for 2 years now. Doctors can't tell me anything is wrong with me or my husband. I have very regular cycles and get strong ovulation symptoms. It's incredibly frustrating.
Sorry if this is tmi, but does anyone deal with blood clots during your period? I get big ones and the doctors are adamant it shouldn't affect my ability to concieve. They arent painful and my hormone levels are normal. I just don't know though and I don't feel like they're taking it seriously.
Thank yall for listening ❤

    Hello kealeycasey,

I had every single test under the sun as well, everything normal. Sometimes our bodies take longer than others while ttc. Sometimes I’ll have big clots during my period but it’s just my uterus expelling it’s lining. We’re currently doing IVF and I wish you the best on this journey!

@kealeycasey I wish you luck on your journey. I also have a very regular cycle and seemingly ovulated without any problems. I did have painful periods but always had so I didn’t think much in to it. I started acupuncture to help with stress and our TTC journey, and within a month my period symptoms and flow drastically improved. I’m not saying it’s a magic answer but may be worth looking in to.

I have also been ttc for two years now and would really appreciate to hear about your progress with acupuncture, as I'm not sure if I'm ready to go down the IVF road just yet.

@mina-p I would definitely recommend trying acupuncture if you have the means and accessibility- if nothing else for the de-stressing aspects of it.
I started acupuncture a few months ago when it became pretty clear we would be pursuing IVF (failed IUIs, low sperm counts). My cycle is regular (always 25-29 days) and I always had positive ovulation tests- so I assumed everything was normal. It wasn’t until my first appointment w my acupuncturist when we were going over my history that she told me my cycle is not “normal.” I always have pretty significant cramping with my period but though was just part of being a woman. My acupuncturist explained periods should not be painful and could be a sign of poor blood flow to the uterus. Clots and other period symptoms could be red flags as well. I started doing acupuncture weekly and my periods have been essentially pain free. Easiest periods I’ve ever had to be honest. So I definitely would say it’s worth looking in to. Some insurances also cover acupuncture so make sure to call your insurance and ask! And make sure you see someone who is knowledgeable in womens health and ART (my acupuncturist is AMAZING!). Good luck!

@sarah0125 This has given me so much hope! I suffer during my periods as well so in addition to maybe helping conceive, this could be a double win! I will definitely give it a go. Thank you so very much!

Might be a good idea to get a second opinion. My gyno didn’t see anything wrong with my husband or myself. I was frustrated so I saw a fertility specialist. Turns out I have PCOS so I am going through IVF. And a good fertility doc will talk about all options, not just push IVF if you aren’t ready.

Some doctors look at things from different angles so they can spot issues others couldn’t.

Hi all - new member here too. My husband and I were defined as "unexplained infertility." like you, all our tests came back normal and our numbers were perfect. we were able to get pregnant (in IUI) but unfortunately, i miscarried. we did IUI one last time but had no luck. im currently undergoing IVF and am pregnant but my unlike last time, my levels have been slow to rise. they must be OK because I'm still in the monitoring stage. it's so frustrating not to know. my levels are 172 now, up from 60 four days ago. i go in again in two days for more bloodwork (UGH) and pregnancy scan. anyone else ever experience this?

Hello dear, we had a similar situation 3 years ago and doc's finally declared it as Unexplained infertility. Then one of my friends suggested an Ayurvedic doctor. She evaluated our reports, analysed our problem and then prepared medicines for us. To my surprise I conceived and gave birth to a cute baby boy. I can share her details if you wish.

in case of unexplained, it's wise to get the second opinion. You do not need to visit a doc, from what I know, some fertility apps such as iyoni app offers affordable guidance by knowledgeable fertility experts within their app. Hope, this helps.
