The first day of my last period was 16/04 so I should be 6w+5 days however when I went for an early transvaginal ultrasound yesterday they said I was 5w + 3 days however I’m quite sure that I did roughly ovulate around the 30/04 so I’m a bit confused? The gestational sac was 10mm and embryo was 3.59mm so is that why they have put me 10 days behind as it’s measuring small? I was luckily enough to hear a heartbeat which I didn’t think was possible until at least six weeks? This is my first pregnancy so all is new to me, any words of wisdom would be much appreciated 😊 thanks
With both of my girls, I went into my OB appointment thinking I was 8w and measured 7w. I wasn't tracking ovulation strictly, only going roughly by what my period tracker app said.

5w3d is very early. Often times, you can’t see a fetal pole. It is possible you ovulated later than you thought. Since you said roughly, to me, that makes me think that maybe you were doing ovulation tests or BBT?
My doctor told me that ultrasounds that early are not super great at reliable dating. I’ve had two early ultrasounds (I’ve been having some bleeding) and the dates they gave were five days apart. You could be correct but the ultrasound just couldn’t measure it totally correctly!
It's still really early momma! Ultrasound can be off to! Baby is still so little. Measurements might be off a little bit! It's hard to get a good measurement that early because baby is so small!!
