Water, water, water! Stretch marks start internally. No lotion or cream will stop them! It all depends on the elasticity of your skin. Sorry, but you need to accept the fact that you may get them. Some women are more susceptible to them than others.
Like PP said, there’s no way to prevent them unfortunately. Just depends on your skin and sometimes fat distribution. I didn’t get any on my stomach but my boobs got them bad. Fortunately they have faded. They were purple during pregnancy tho. I used Burt’s bees belly butter but I just accepted the fact that if I was going to get them that’s how it was going to be. But oils and lotions that have vitamin E will help them fade a bit once you stop growing.
As everyone else has said, there's not much you can do to prevent them. I fretted over this for a while about whether or not it was worth splurging and using a $30 cream or something half the price. I decided since there's not much that can be done to prevent stretch marks I may as well use something affordable. I started using Palmer's cocoa butter massage lotion for stretch marks a couple weeks after finding out I was pregnant which only costs $6.
I do actually think it has helped fade the thin stretch marks I had on my butt that have been there since before this pregnancy. Not bad for a product that costs $6.

I don't know that anything will make them totally go away, and for right now at least I don't care, but I like the palmer's cocoa butter, tummy butter. It helps to keep the skin hydrated and not stretching, dry and itchy! It works great for your breasts and feet too as things stretch and swell and dry out. If it helps in the long run it'll be a bonus, but for now it's keeping my skin much more comfortable!
I’ve been using tallow which is all natural and feels amazing! I also use BioOil, it smells great and absorbs really nicely so you’re not super oily. 🤍
Hi there!! I have the best dermatologist who gave me an entire pre and pregnancy routine. There is a compound called Centella Asiatica (or CiCa for short) that helps synthesize and make collagen and elastin when it’s applied consistently to an area AND this has been backed by studies! I found a product that I’ve been using and really really like that is pregnancy approved . It’s called 8 sheep organics (?) I’ll post a pic when I’m home 🩷
True Belly Serum by 8 Sheep Organics this is my 3rd pregnancy and the only product that really keeps my belly moisturized all day! Of course water is v important to stay super hydrated too!
