Traveling while pregnant

My partner and I have a trip booked to South East Asia (we booked before I found out I was pregnant) in the beginning of my second trimester. We are likely going to go to Thailand, Bali, or Goa, India. Everything that I've read online about traveling to South East Asia when pregnant says to consult your Doctor first and when I asked her she said the decision was up to me and didn't really have a recommendation.

Has anyone here traveled to South East Asia when pregnant and/or talked to a medical professional about traveling to South East Asia when pregnant?

Following this cause we were considering travelling to South Korea during 2nd trimester too, but now that we're confirmed pregnant, we're leaning towards a local babymoon.

Our concerns are not being able to read ingredients on foods/products to make sure they're safe, not knowing 100% if things are typically fully cooked, not being able to really ask if things are fully cooked, having to walk a lot with possibly swollen ankles, etc. It's a little different in places that speak English cause we could at least carry a conversation to ask about these things.

Anyway, sorry no experience with it, just wanted to follow the thread for what others might chime in.

I’m going on a cruise next month that goes to several carribean islands. I didn’t talk to my doctor yet but have no intention of not going. Will I be nervous? Yes. But I’m doing it. I’ll be 10 weeks at the start of it and almost 12 when we return. I wouldn’t go super lately in my pregnancy. (Nor would they let me lol).

I found out I was pregnant during a trip to Mexico, so I quickly got on board with eating the right things. I think Asia might be a bit more challenging but not impossible. Maybe just when I’m doubt sticking to simple things could help. I lived in Vietnam for a year and so many people speak English that you could lean on asking the questions also. You could also stick to organic specific or vegetarian restaurants as well. Or what I did in Mexico was to stay safe with beef, pork or chicken cooked all the way and that seemed to work fine with bottled water. The fruits in Asia are delicious as well, and you will have your choice!
