Alternative to meal train

Hey! Some ladies in my office have mentioned setting up a meal train for me when I go on maternity leave but I'm not sure I want people coming to my house. I know they can just send money on it to use towards GrubHub but I feel like that might get old.

Someone else suggested setting up a diaper train instead of meals. That way they can just be delivered to my house, which I like that idea.

I'm just wondering if there have been any other ideas that you all have received while in the postpartum phase that was super helpful. I don't want to come off as a choosy beggar lol.

Oooo that tough but I personally would love meals delivered to me.
But I agree. I would feel awkward accepting meals & then turning them away because I’m not up to visitors on a daily.
I honestly think that it’s a great idea tho.
Using grubhub or DoorDash means you control what you’re ordering & eating.
Maybe set up a PayPal or a convenient way to donate to a meal fund. It doesn’t seem too much to ask since they offered first. I remember how thankful I was when anyone came by with food.
    My husband doesn’t cook.
He’s even worse now & has only made eggs once & that was in January.
But honestly. If they want to help. Give them options so you can still feel the relief & not worry those first few days/weeks.
  • Also, you have the option of telling them to leave it on the doorstep. Even when we weren’t in the time of Covid, I did meal trains like that.

  • totally agree to take so many visitors can be tiring and even unsafe
