I'm starting this journey and happy to meet all of you!
While I do have children, I have had 4 losses in a row in the past-- testing showed no cause for myself or my husband. Out of my children, my boys are healthy and my only girl has significant medical issues. She also had to have brain surgery when she was 2. Her medical team hasn't figured out the cause of her issues despite tons of testing. We had decided we were done having children due to her issues and I had a tubal ligation a few years back.
However, we recently decided to move ahead with IVF (we had done the testing for it years ago during our miscarriage period, but landed up getting pregnant with one that stuck naturally). I'm excited, but cautiously optimistic. I'm 40 now, so I know that age is going to play a role in this and outside of that, I do have PCOS. I wish so much that we knew the cause of my previous losses or my daughter's medical issues.
We have our first appointment later this week with the same doctor we had before. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the information out there, but I want to put us in the best position to conceive a healthy baby. Does anyone have any recommendations for books to get? Are they any particular prenatals or supplements I should get in the meantime?
