Covid Vaccine

Hi All,

I know this may sound a bit random but… I had a beautiful baby boy in February. We were discharged 24 hours later from hospital and living the perfect family life in our new baby bubble. Fast forward a week and my baby was struggling to poo and didn’t want to feed so I took him to A & E and after countless diagnosis’s , hospitals and treatment he died from a condition called Cardiomyopathy which is very rare in newborns. After further discussions and test results they believe it was due to a virus called Enterovirus which is basically a common cold to us. I’m finding it very difficult to understand how sooo many newborns come in contact with people who may have a common cold and don’t even become ill let alone die because of this.

I had all 3 covid vaccines during my pregnancy and I am basically wondering if this may have played a part in the outcome. After speaking with the cardiologist they have confirmed that even though it is very rare there has been a rise in new borns with enterovirus in the past year and they aren’t yet sure if it is related to covid.

So basically I’m clutching at straws by posting on here to see if anyone has heard of or experienced a similar scenario.

Please do let me know if you have even if you think it may not be entirely relevant. Thanks I’m advance x
