Metformin pcos6 weeks

Hi! I’m 6 weeks and 4 days preggo. I somehow missed my metformin meds for few days before it’s 8 weeks. Should i continue again? Can it affect my baby? I’m super confused and concerned.

  • I think you really need to check in with a doctor about that as soon as you can. Probably no reason to worry, but seems like it falls under the “medical advice” umbrella!

  • Ask your doctor but yes take them. I had a similar question for mine with my second pregnancy that I am now in. I take metformin for pre diabetes and I believe it kept me from getting gestational diabetes my first pregnancy, I was just under the cut off.
  • Metformin is known to be safe to take during pregnancy. But yes always check with your doctor. You can call and the attending nurse will often get back to you same day.
  • I'd continue the meds and ask the doc if they still want you to take it. My guess is you're likely safe. I'm taking metformin as a diabetic and pcos patient. They had said it was safe, but since everyone is different, your doctor will let you know.
