Work related.

Hello. I am 14 weeks along and this is my first pregnancy. I am absolutely exhausted most days. I have been having a hard time sleeping at night and having pretty bad nightmares that wake me up. I have dealt with constipation for about 5 days but that is under control now. Anyways because of this I have had to call off of work and have reached my 5 point mark which called for me to get a write up. The job I do requires lifting all day and standing In one place. I also am required to work 6 days a week. However I don’t have any disabilities or have been put on light duty I was wondering if I’m even aloud to ask my doctor to write me a note at least saying I’m not aloud to work any overtime. I feel that actually having more then one day off a week would give me time to recuperate and actually have a day of rest.most of the time my only day off is playing catch up or running errands which leaves no time for me to breath. Getting another job is out of the question because I would take a major pay cut and loose my medical and paid maternity leave. I just don’t want to sound stupid for asking my doctor if it’s something y’all don’t think they would help me with unless I was high risk which I am not. Help please.

Re: Work related.

  • I think you can get a note!   I know that we want to be able yo do the same things and not be treated like we have a disability but pregnancy is serious business!  I think there are laws about light-duty work and pregnancy yo can research that for your state

I’ve been taking a magnesium powder  at night to help me sleep, it’s not a strong laxative but it helps relax you so kinda helps with constipation. I get the Natural Vitality “Calm” magnesium supplement
