3rd Trimester

Successful ECV 37+2

Hi All,
Just sharing my experience from our ECV today for all of the mammas with breech babies. My baby has been breech for months, head and feet up in my rib cage. We scheduled our version today for 37+2 and it was done within a minute without medication or complications. Pain was brief and tolerable.

After she went head down, they confirmed on sono and monitored us for 2 hours. Baby’s heart rate was steady and she was active. I had very light contractions that they could see on the monitor and felt more like period cramps to me.

Doc checked before we left and could feel her head was still down.

Good luck to all of the other moms on here who are considering the ECV. I feel the benefits outweighs the risks.

  • Also, just know that there is still time that baby can flip up, again. Happened to a friend.

  • Yes, I’m aware that’s a possibility. Just hopeful it doesn’t.
  • @Mferreri that’s so awesome it was successful! Fingers crossed baby stays that way for you! Good luck in this final stretch!

Great news!! Thanks for sharing! I have mine scheduled next week at 38 weeks. Fingers crossed!
  • Found this encouraging!  I’m 35 weeks and baby has been breech since 28 with her head up in my right side ribs and her feet are now down in complete breech position.  Hoping she turns but will consider a ECV if she doesn’t.
