Upcoming Appointments or Results: nothing until May 18
How are you feeling?: good! Still a little tired and my boobs are still sore. They’ve grown a little but I hope they get bigger! (Started out as an A cup before pregnancy)
Rants/Raves: I’m jealous this week. I’ve read on some other boards of women being able to feel flutters already at 13 weeks and I’m so jealous! I can sometimes feel my uterus but I don’t feel baby yet, hopefully soon! Then maybe some anxiety will go away.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Nov. 5th / 13w3d. Second trimester, here we come!
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: I just had my second OB Appt today. I'll get the results of my early glucose test tomorrow. Next appt won't be until 5/31.
How are you feeling?: I don't think I've ever been this tired before. Nausea comes and goes, but it is manageable. Acid reflux has begun, so no more spicy food. Quite a few of my hypothyroid symptoms have been creeping up on me too, so I had blood drawn for that too to see if I need a medication adjustment. Emotionally, I'm feeling great though.
Rants/Raves: Rant - I feel like it's way too early for baby brain, but alas, it's happening. Last night I got a 2nd degree burn on my hand (luckily a small area) because I forgot the pan of oil on the stovetop was hot. And today I realized I scheduled my OB appt for the same time as my son's IEP meeting. Rave - DH handled the IEP meeting at school without me with little advance warning. At my appt today I got to see baby on the handheld ultrasound. He/she gave a little wave and I got to see their little heart beating. I also got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Healthy HR in the 160s.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: next appointment 5/23 with new midwives
How are you feeling?: Very moody about work in particular. My back has been hurting the last couple days, I have a previous bulging disk so I think pregnancy is aggravating it.
Rants/Raves: Rants: I had my first appointment with my ob (previously saw a np) and she was super late then rushed through our appointment and I had to stop her from running out in order to get one of my questions out. Oh well, I was planning on changing offices anyway but this gave me the push I needed to actually book something. Raves: I also had my NT ultrasound this appointment and that went great. The tech was awesome and super informative! Everything looked good and I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. I also got really cute ultrasound pics!
Questions: I found out this appointment that I have an anterior placenta which makes it harder to feel baby, has anyone had this with previous pregnancies and how long did it take you to feel movement?
@manamo777 I had an anterior placenta with my son. I didn't feel him until about 18 weeks. But he was a mover so after I started feeling him move, I was feeling it all the time. By 22 weeks I could see him moving with my belly just rolling constantly.
Well, I didn't pass my 1-hr glucose test. I fall into the range for the 3-hr test. I'm super bummed. But on the bright side, my thyroid levels came back in normal range so no need to adjust my meds.
@manamo777 the tech didn't say I had one but I'm pretty sure I saw her write it on one of the shots. I'm bummed because I felt my last baby around 15 or 16 weeks. Some days I'm thankful though because my toddler often forgets he's not supposed to do things like bonking his head on my belly and I'm glad for the extra cushioning.
@ashnicell hope you pass the three hour, but also it sucks that you may have to do it twice. 😩

Upcoming Appointments or Results: scheduled an ultrasound on 5/20 at a little boutique that we used last time. It'll be a little more expensive than the one my OB offered but worth it because our 3yr old can attend and see the baby live and find out whether he's getting a sister or a brother, plus longer, more pictures and 4d.
How are you feeling?: much better actually. My whole house, including the dog was sick for most of April. I lost 5 lbs but my appetite is coming back and I've gained most of it back. Still tired a lot but it's not every day like it had been.
Rants: work is lame Raves:but I picked up two $500 bonus shifts so that will help with maternity leave.
2nd rave: though I'm sure it'll be short-lived, my boobs are not pancakes anymore! 😂
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Looking forward to my first in person appointment at a birthing center. I’m transferring care because I’d rather not give birth in a hospital.
How are you feeling?: I feel pretty good. My energy is slowly coming back. My appetite has increased, but I’m still not gaining weight. I’ve consistently been between 134-136 since I found out I was pregnant.
Rants/Raves: Super excited that I felt baby move while listening with the at home fetal doppler. I guess he hates because he “kicked” where I had it placed lol. I’m so lucky to feel flutters 1-2 times a day, but he much rather kick my cervix throughout the day lol
Upcoming Apts/Results: Ultrasound today and went well. Was able to see the baby’s hands and getting so much bigger. Lots of movement. However I have a hematoma that has been bleeding and today I passed a large clot which lead to an emergency visit at the hospital. All is well but definitely stressful. I have some pretty bad cramps still.
How are you feeling? I am still mildly nauseous and still need a nap in the afternoon but symptoms are definitely improving.
Rants/Raves: bleeding regularly sucks and is very stressful. I really hoped at 14 weeks I could be less stressed since being in my second trimester but unfortunately just hasn’t been the case. I am now considered high risk so I can’t work out which I was really looking forward to doing.
Anyone else have a hematoma or experience something similar?
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Just regular OB appt this month.
How are you feeling?: I have a bladder infection. My morning sickness has thankfully, finally passed, and then I get a bladder infection. I'm fine. I choke on the antibiotics every time though lol
Rants/Raves: Not to brag but I have started feeling very early flutters recently, mostly at night when I am very still. I felt my son at 13 weeks. I am hyper aware of feelings in my body (which is not always a good thing--I went through a phase where I could not ignore the feeling of my intestines moving so) but it's kind of nice to start feeling something.
Passed my 3 hr glucose test! That 100g glucola drink is more than twice as bad as the 50g glucola drink. Hardest part was keeping it down. It was like drinking fruit punch flavored syrup. Blech!
Now I'm all set until 28 weeks when I have to test again.
@bribrithomas. I'm a birth center mom too! This will be our third time. I really appreciate how they build a community with the moms that come there. Is yours freestanding or part of a hospital?
@michellelynn6. I have also always felt my babies "early." It is such a comfort.
@manamo777. I had an anterior placenta for my last pregnancy and it really didn't make a huge difference. I could still feel ds moving on the inside even early on. It just depends on a lot of things.
@ashnicell so glad you passed. Those tests are such a headache.
Still pretty tired. The nausea comes and goes depending on what I'm eating/how much I'm eating. I definitely feel better when I'm up and about doing stuff, which makes it hard because all I want to do is lay around! Accepting that just feeling blah might be the fate for the rest of this pregnancy.
Rants/Raves: Nothing really. It's mother's day today and I'm grateful for my kiddos thoughtful homemade gifts from school. My husband got me a nice seat for outside, but he definitely wanted it more than I did. And I had to plan our breakfast outing this morning. The day is still young and I just want to go out solo for a pedicure. But he just brought the laundry upstairs, so I think I'm home bound for the rest of the day.
