Ladies, we are riding the struggle bus!! First trimester is rough—with sickness, nausea, exhaustion, and pains, let’s find the upsides! What is going well in your day, week, month or life in general right now? Shout out the positives!
@mflowers929 what I wouldn’t give for fish and chips! But I developed a fish and shellfish allergy a handful of years ago, boo!
I’m thankful for hearing baby’s heartbeat the other night through the Doppler. It’s early to find it on there, but a huge relief!
Also thankful for the unisom and b6. Took it last night for the first time and I was actually able to get my walk in this morning. I feel like a whole new person, hah!
Got approved to work from home after my appointment Friday afternoon. I’ll definitely be super emotional the rest of the day, so I’m happy I’ll be able to hide from my coworkers. Nausea was very mild yesterday, got to enjoy some sparkling lemonade in a champagne flute!
I'm thankful tylenol exists so there's something I can use to at least take the edge off these first tri migraines. I'm also very thankful for early ultrasound at the RE because seeing our Bean and knowing they have a strong heartbeat actually did do wonders for my anxiety.
1. My husband was working from a local coffee shop this morning and brought home my favorite panini and a raspberry chai. I was able to have both without feeling sick!
2. My first ultrasound is in 2 days!
3. I got a workout in last night for the first time in over a week.
@chuckle_sandwich oh noooo! That's so unfortunate. I live in an area where there is a LOT of fish and shellfish. One of our favorite things to do in the summer is drive down to the beach and get fish and chips. I did develop an allergy to clams (and only clams) a few years which made me very sad because I LOVE clam chowder. I can't imagine not being able to eat any of it =( Oh, kind of a funny story - my husband is allergic to lobster. He didn't find this out until after he started working in a lobster processing plant and was sick every other day.

@mflowers929 It really is! I love seafood. Apparently when my mom was pregnant with me she had a seafood allergy; it went away after I was born. Coincidence? Or maybe I’ve had the allergy my whole life but it didn’t rear it’s ugly head until more recently? All I know is I prefer being able to breathe, so no fish or seafood.
Love this thread! -I’m loving the spring weather that keeps peeking through and allowed me several walks during the weekend. -I went back to Orange Theory, the first time in over a week, and it was a really good workout and left me feeling energized. -Acne is disappearing which is AMAZING and I’m feeling incredibly thankful for this as it’s been an ongoing issue (related to aging and hormones) for over 12 months. -We got to see Hamilton on Saturday as a family which was unbelievably good.
@bananapancakes Hamilton went on sale locally here last week and bogged down our system for a couple hours (I work in live event ticketing unrelated to Hamilton, just using the same ticketing company/network). Since then I’ve been listening to the soundtrack on repeat. 😂 I’ve only seen it on Disney+ though, never live!
Love the positive energy and practicing gratitude!
1. I’m pregnant! We tried for so long that all the crap that goes along with it can’t keep me down (at least not yet haha).
2. I moved the genetic testing from 12 weeks to 10 weeks so I only have to wait another week!
3. We slipped and told my husband’s cousin this weekend when we saw her for lunch and she was so happy that she cried. It was a really special moment!
4. My work slowed down right before I found out and I WFH so I can take little resting breaks during the day - wouldn’t have been possible just a few months ago
I've been so grateful that my morning bowl of Cheerios has set me up with enough energy to walk the dog before I have to start the mad rush to get my son and myself out the door. This morning I was woken up by a bird 20 minutes before my alarm, and I just lay there with my eyes closed and listened. I'm so glad it is spring.
This is my last week working in the group that I am currently in. While I have made friends with all of the ladies I am beyond grateful to move out from under my boss and start a new position in the company. And I am on vacation next week just me and the youngest kid for most of the week before heading to the beach for Easter weekend with both boys and my husband who is currently working out of town until after Mother’s Day.
I got enough sleep last night that I've had a wonderful burst of energy this morning. I made it nearly the full first four hours without nausea. The weather is gorgeous. I'm able to work from home with the windows open. Just ordered a pizza to be delivered. Grateful!
1) I had my first ultrasound this morning and there is, in fact, a baby in there. With a strong heart beat! I'm feeling so relieved and excited and feel like I can start participating in the group.
2) I'm going out of town next weekend and will be away from both of my kids for the first time ever. I've been away from my son many times but not my daughter. I'm looking forward to having an actual break!
3) We are going on vacation to the beach in a few weeks. I can't wait!
Love the positivity in this thread. The world needs more positivity.
@sun0620 Extra sleep and pizza delivery is the best! @bananapancakes Hamilton was postponed for us again! Apparently we will see it in 2023, but we will have a newish baby then so I am not sure how that will work.
My parents are planning a cruise for November 2023. My older two will be able to go to the kids club so it'll mostly just be the baby we're dealing with. I keep watching videos of the ship and getting super excited!

@ponyoisfun nooooo! That’s the worst. I’m sorry to hear that =( Good news is, I don’t think Hamilton will be going away any time soon - hopefully you’ll have more chances in the future!
Re: 4/5/22–What’s Going Well?!?!
3. My son is back at school after Spring Break!
4. I can uuuuusually navigate getting a nap in my day
5. My husband is a wonderful, amazing, supportive human who sent me this text after I was just retching in the bathroom—
