Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 11/12 or 11/9 (I think my RE had me at 11/9)
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM to a 4.5 year old
Upcoming Appointments or Results: I don't see my OB until 4/25 so I'll be pretty quiet on this question for the next couple weeks.
How are you feeling?: This is a very different pregnancy from my last one. I do have good days and bad days, but it felt like last time every day was a bad day, so I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. Preferably not over the next two weeks, because I'm super busy with work events.
Rants/Raves: My mom is our childcare once a week, but also works full time. She has a meeting on her usual date, but also has a meeting the next day when she could switch with our sitter, so we're stuck either having her pick up my kid and then he runs directly to my husband when she goes onto her meeting (she claims she has stuff for my son to do, but it never sticks) or my husband just sucks it up and picks up.
Questions: Is anyone else moving from FTM to STM (or just expanding a family in general, lol we all are) and thinking about moving for more space? I'm torn between staying where we are for one more school year to give my son at least a little stability and not move schools, and moving and having alllllll the changes happen at once. Any insights?
@PurplePumpernickel we'll be staying where we are for a little while yet. The housing market is just way too crazy right now, both rentals and buying, for us to even think of going anywhere right now. If something were to happen to this apartment we'd have to move in with my mother in law who lives in the middle of nowhere 2 hours from here and hubby would have to commute to work. But we're keep a close eye out because having 3 kids in a 2 bedroom apartment just is not tenable long term. We do have a 5 acre piece of property but it's just bare land and building is crazy too. Ugh!
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: November 9 (repeat CS)
FTM/STM/TTM+:TTM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: First actual OB appointment will be on the 20th.
How are you feeling?: Tired. So so tired. Sick on and off, but I've managed to not vomit yet *knock wood*. Still losing weight =/
Rants/Raves: My kids are both so huggy and loving, and most of the time I love it but lately I'm like "get offf of meeee"

@mflowers929 We're in a 3 bedroom condo, so we technically have the room; we would just need to rearrange. I'm just worried that prices are going to be even more out of control next year or the year after... Real estate doesn't seem to go down. Husband is desperate to have our own single family home, me less so.
@PurplePumpernickel I know exactly how you feel. It's stressful not knowing what's going on. If it helps, I have been reading a LOT of articles about the housing market in the past year and a bit and what they're saying right now is that interest rates are going to go straight up which, on the "eh" side for a buyer they're saying will stabilize prices, and on the "woohoo!" side for a buyer they're saying might bring prices down 15-30%. Just need to shoo all of those investors out! (sorry if you're a real estate investor reading this, but it's really really screwed up the housing market for families)

FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM (7 & 5 yo)
Upcoming Appointments or Results: One week from today, April 11
How are you feeling?: Nauseous, tired, light headed when I stand up, like I’m failing my other two kiddos. It’s so hard to play with them right now.
Rants/Raves: I’m so fed up with our disaster of a basement. We moved from our tiny farm house into my in-laws house after they passed away and they had so much junk. The basement is unfinished and was packed full. It has been never ending trying to go through things. I’m thankful for the roof over our heads, but I’d love to get that basement cleaned out and finished so the kids have a better play space.
First time mom, but this is my third pregnancy - we had 1 ectopic pregnancy and 1 miscarriage at 7w last year. I am on edge with this one, but feeling super hopeful! And I am MUCH more symptomatic than the other pregnancies, which my doctor assures me is a great sign.
Appointments: I had an ultrasound last week (my doctor wanted to see me early on since I have a history of ectopic pregnancy) and we saw a nice healthy little intrauterine butterbean with a heartbeat & yolk sac! SO relieved to rule out another ectopic, I wouldn’t wish that experience on my worst enemy.
Feeling: nauseous but no vomiting, perpetually exhausted, & very crampy. Not constant cramping but I feel it a lot throughout the day, and I have for the past ~2 weeks. I wish I knew what a healthy pregnancy felt like! I know my cramps are probably normal, but I still just associate the feeling with my previous miscarriage…. It’s hard to fully relax.
Rants/raves: none - just so happy to be on this journey and wishing everyone a healthy pregnancy! Come on November!
@sudsy623 I'm a day or two ahead of you and had more cramping than expected early on (I'm a STM). It has kind of subsided, but I still get twinges. I think it is normal!
sudsy623 there's a couple of reasons for cramping in early pregnancy that can be completely normal. Your uterus grows quite a bit which can cause cramping, along with the associated stretching of muscles and ligaments. Your guts also tend to slow down which can cause a lot of gas and gas pains, which can feel like cramping (I literally thought I was having gas pains when I was in labor if that tells you anything lol).

Upcoming phone appointment on the 14th and visit with the dr on the 28th
How are you feeling?:
Good for the most part my boobs are so sore in the evenings and I think they are now trying to reach my belly button. Constipation had gotten better but it back again.
Rants/Raves:
No rants or raves just trying to enjoy each day.
Questions:
Are there any mommas that are 40 or near 40?
And to all what are the age gaps in your kids? One of mine is 16 and will turn 17 right before the baby is here and the other is 12 and will turn 13 after the baby arrives.
@brandi-h hahaha, we wanted our kids close so my kiddos will have 26 months between each of them. I'm going to have 3 kids 4 and under. Lord help me XD

@mflowers929 I have about a 21month age gap between each of my boys. It’s a little wild but they are usually best buds. This baby will be not quite three years from my youngest.
@clee5711 I'm just very glad that my husband and I are such a great team lol. We had been together for 12 (almost 13) years already when our son came, and we went through some really tough stuff in those 12 years, so we most definitely know how to work together!
Momma to 3 angels and two amazing children
F born June 2018 W born September 2020 #3 due November 2022
@brandi-h my son will be 5 by the time the baby arrives. I'm 39. Both were IVF pregnancies, but we had just started discussing going back to my RE to try for our second in March 2020, so I wanted to wait a while. After I was vaccinated I told my husband I wanted my "hot vaxx summer" (lol) and we would contact the RE in the fall, which we did. I don't mind a big age gap; that's what I was envisioning when we started TTC, when I was 30.
@brandi-h I'll be 40 in Aug. @mflowers929 we're graduating from 3 kids aged 4andunder in June, then I'll have 4 kids aged 5andunder for 7 months from nov-june.
@mflowers929 the 2-3 yr old has been the biggest annoyance each time so far, the baby is easy, the big kid surprisingly helpful, and last time even helped entertain the middle. Its only slightly crazier than having 1 child aged 2-3. I've heard 4 kids is easier than 3, but I'll have to report back later
@sejica can confirm that the 2/3year old is the biggest problem 😂 I’ve also heard that 3-4 kids is easy and 2/3 is one of the hardest. I’m praying it’s true because we added a third kid a few weeks before covid shut the world down and it was ROUGH times

I’m having a lot of cramping too. I’m worried sick. I had my 8 week scan on Apr 1st, started getting cramps Apr 2nd-3rd, went in to make sure everything was okay on Apr 4th (and everything was fine) but I still have the discomfort and am worried constantly. And like you, I also associate it with my previous loss. This was the one symptom I was hoping I wouldn’t have because I knew it would make me a nervous wreck! How frequent are your cramps?
@stasia415@sudsy623 I’m creeping here from week 4 but regarding the cramping—I had cramping while pregnant with my oldest son, and the doctor explained that the uterus *expanding* can cause cramps just like it does when it’s contracting during menstruation. I’m always a proponent of calling instead of googling/worrying, so glad you were able to get in, @stasia415!
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8w1d due date November 15! (went 41 weeks with each of my girls so telling myself more like 11/22)
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM I have two daughters 3 & 1 & we lost one in september of 2021 💔
Upcoming Appointments or Results: had our first ultrasound yesterday & the little butter bean was looking great! huge relief. I had been stressing about the first appt with our rainbow baby!
How are you feeling?: sooo terrible. worse than any of the other pregnancies. exhausted always & nausea all day & night with some vomiting. if I wake up to pee at night it takes me a while to fall back asleep cuz the nausea is just so present 🤢
Rants/Raves: so thankful for a healthy pregnancy but definitely looking for a light at the end of the first trimester tunnel 😂
@stasia415 I think the fact that we have had cramping alongside normal ultrasounds is a great sign that things are healthy! Mine are a little different every day but I would say at least once a day (if not more) I am very much aware of it. It’s a lot like menstrual cramps and it can last several hours. @krknmama Glad to hear you had a healthy prior pregnancy with cramping! It does feel like stretching… I’m going to try to rewire my brain to associate it with a healthy, expanding pregnant uterus and NOT a miscarriage! Wish me luck lol
@the_mama_bean I am almost constantly nauseous too!! Unisom and Vitamin B-6 don’t seem to help me during the daytime but if I take it at bedtime it does help tame the middle of the night nausea. And I still have to get up to pee sometimes but the Unisom makes it much easier to get back to sleep quickly! Have you tried those yet?
@sudsy623 yes I just tried unisom for the first time two nights ago! I had been taking vitamin b6 for a few days with no benefits. yesterday I felt amazing for most of the day & was so relieved! today is seems like it’s not doing a lot 🥴 maybe it was a fluke or something! super disappointed about going back tho haha
@the_mama_bean it took me several days of taking it consecutively (both unisom + b-6 together at bedtime) for it to actually help with night time and early morning nausea. Still having the daytime/evening nausea though, but hey I’ll take what I can get. At least i’m sleeping like a rock! Hope it kicks in for you soon! 🤞
@sudsy623 im right there with you! It’s definitely lightened up and I honestly think it might have been some slight constipation + bloating + gas alongside normal growing pains so overall just felt pretty awful. Now if only this nausea and fatigue would lighten up as well 😅 hopefully just a few more weeks to go
Upcoming Appointments or Results: had an ultrasound last week and the nurse gave me an A++ report card. I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks as well because I was having spotting.
How are you feeling?: sore boobs is my biggest symptom, and very tired. Thankful for no major nausea. I have experienced cramping and bloating as well. The spotting has been stressful, but the nurse said it’s normal and not to worry, so trying to trust that. I am not doing a lot of exercise or having sex until the spotting goes away.
Rants/Raves: spotting is annoying!!! Want that to go away. Ready to be into the second trimester. I am definitely worried about miscarriage.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: First appointment is April 28th, next u/s is May 13th but I'm hoping to hear the heartbeat on a doppler at our appointment.
How are you feeling?: Mostly pretty well. Extreme fatigue, nausea in the evening but no vomiting thank goodness. Lots of stretching pains and if I move too quickly sometimes it feels like I've pulled a muscle near my uterus. Hoping my energy will increase a bit so I can get exercising again, or at least find the motivation to do so.
Rants/Raves: I'm so happy I haven't had any major food aversions for taste or smell.. but I feel like my diet is trash and I've just been eating everything I can when I don't feel nauseated. Rant: I either wish I felt less gross so I could be more intimate with my husband, or I wish he was more understanding of me not wanting to be intimate because I feel like trash.
Questions: for all you STM+, when were you able to hear baby's heartbeat on a doppler? Also, did you mood/energy/desire for intimacy change throughout your pregnancy?
