Re: Monday B*tchfest 4.4

  • My husband just tested positive for COVID. 😡 The girls and I are negative, thankfully. I’m going to take them to my MIL’s for the week to isolate away from him (they’ve already had it too). Just stinks. The DCFS guidelines are stricter for daycare than the CDC guidelines so they will be home until next Thursday. 😢 It just makes work 10x more complicated.

I feel a little better just saying that, but still… 😡
  • @sunshineandlemons that sucks! I’m glad you have somewhere to go.,
I feel you on the annoyance of the difference in guidelines from CDC and for childcare - i was so mad when my son’s preschool stopped their mask requirement but still require a 10 day quarantine for any potential exposure. How does that make sense? Thankfully the teachers and most of the kiddos still wear masks and it’s a small school, with exposure to less than 30 people but still….

  • @sunshineandlemons that sucks! Hope he gets better soon.

Is it terrible of me to say can all the guidelines go out the window so we can be back to normal 😩. With the mask mandates pretty much being dropped I've actually had to remind myself multiple times to make sure a mask is in my car for OB appointments! It's hard to remember everything. Sigh.

  • @runnergirl2018 I agree! And finding the requirements online for IL daycares is difficult, which adds to my frustration. They have to be out this long, but it’s hard for me to show to my employer that the daycare rules are different so my kids will be here for longer than the work quarantine period.

@inthewoods23, I feel the same way… I’m exhausted with the rules being different in different settings, etc. and trying to remember it all.

In other news, his dr prescribed him one of the Covid meds, so hopefully he’ll feel some relief soon. We are even isolating to an extent because he has it worse than I did in January/February.

I’m here to bitch, although I don’t like to bitch but if I don’t get it out I’ll just end up complaining to my husband when he gets home from work and I feel guilty always complaining when he goes out to work and support all of us. 😒

I have a head cold and serious congestion which caused me to only get a couple hours sleep
last night and I ‘woke up’ (never even really slept) with even more congestion and feeling so groggy, had to immediately get my 10 year olds breakfast ready and send her off to school and care for two toddlers all-day-long while we are trapped in the house because our roof installation has started and the yard and perimeter of the house is a mess. I’m praying they finish the roof today and don’t need to come back again because today has been pretty miserable with the banging, sawing, tar smell and not being able to go outside with the kids. *privileged complaints I know, but I had to get it out!
  • One of my distributers has pissed me off. Talked to me like I was a lazy child and he KNOWS that while there's some others on my team like that, I am not.

I have to go to his store later today. I just hope he's there when I get there, because I'm not letting this slide. If I had deserved that treatment, that would be one thing, but no one gets to talk to me like that just because they want to be an asshole at 7:27 a.m. on a Friday morning.
  • I am so pregnant hormone fueled mad at my husband right now
I asked him to take out the trash last night. Because the cans were about to overflow. And we were running around last night and he said “they aren’t full”
I let it go because I figured he had some good reason.

No. Apparently the can being full isn’t good enough. The BAG has to be stuffed to capacity. Which isn’t possible in the cans we have

I may have flipped out on him. I am not going to spend my limited energy bending down to pick up garbage because he wants bags stuffed to the limit

I know it’s stupid but COME ON. Just take out the garbage! The bags are not some precious resource!
