Baby Name Opinion Please

Hello,

We're trying to settle on baby names for our son and one that stands out is Keaton.

We really like it, but it's probably the least common of our current considerations. My husband has a last name as a first name, and we're both good with that trend in general, though I know some people don't care for it.

Love? Like? Meh? Hate?

Would you hire a professional someone with this name?
Would your ten-year old self pick on a person with this name?

Appreciate any thoughts you have.

  • It's meh to me but I'm really not a fan or last names as first names unless it has a special meaning. I don't think it's an easy target for being picked on, nor a problem of sounding unprofessional. Just not my style and kinda trendy.

  • It makes me think of Michael Keaton and that is a pleasant association for me. It also is pretty close to Keegan which I've seen as a first and last name so I honestly don't see why not. It also means "place of Hawks" which is pretty cool. Sullivan has become an increasingly popular first name even though it's a surname.
  • Sounds fine to me, especially if you both really like it.
  • Keaton is good! Other nice ones are
    Smith
    Penn
    Hudson
  • I like Keaton a lot! It's unique but not out there. He'll be the only Keaton in his class but people won't be stuck mispronouncing it or misspelling it. I vote yes!
