First loss 2009 about 8 weeks, 2013 Twins at 13 weeks, 2013 lost at 6 weeks, 2016 lost at 6 weeks, 2018 loss at 5 weeks, 2018 loss at 5 weeks

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? I'm annoyed about genetic testing, I hope it gives me answers.  I don't think it will

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Genetic testing blood draw this week.

GTKY: if you had no budget what would you buy yourself? A housekeeper, like I would pay them but I really want someone to do my cooking and cleaning.

Status: Benched

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? I ovulated!!!! It took 35 days after the D&C to get my beta back to a 5, and my body is doing the damn thing. I can’t really explain it, but this first ovulation after a loss feels so healing. 

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Got results over the weekend that I have antibodies to phosphatidylserine, but waiting to hear from my doctor for a thorough conversation on what exactly that means. 

Questions? Realizing this may be a long shot, but does anyone have experience with APS? 

GTKY: if you had no budget what would you buy yourself? A vacation! In Kauai, for at least a month, with first class flights to and from the east coast, and also some good drugs for the plane. (Scurrying to my bank account for a reality check, no I can’t actually do this 😂😭)

Testing update: I spoke with my doctor about the results, and while my anti-phosphatidylserine antibodies are too high for the “healthy normal” range, they are not high enough to fall into the “suspected APS” category, so that is super great news. He offered to do our Karyotypes and an HSG, but I don’t think I will pursue any further testing at this point. 

Only somewhat related rant: If one more OBGYN says “old eggs” to me I’m gonna lose it. I swear I have heard this no fewer than 10 times in all the appointments and calls in the last 6 weeks. Like I get it, I’m almost 40, but there’s nothing I can do about that now. Enough already about my shitty old eggs.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? Things are okay today. It's been a struggle to be honest. I had a rough go with the D&C with some incompetent and insensitive nurses, but I filled out the post op survey and actually got a personal phone call from the OR Manager asking for more information so that she could address it with the nurse. I felt so validated and heard, so that was great. Comments/story in spoiler if you want to know.

Nurse 1 brought me back and stopped DH in the doorway and said he couldn't come. I fought a little letting her know that the Dr said it was okay as long as DH brought his vax card. She said she had to check and sent DH to the waiting room. I broke down crying as she brought me to a chair and started taking vitals. She asked if this was "my first one" and I said no. She then asked "was your first one a fail?" and I said no that this was a second failed pregnancy and she went on to ask "why are you here?!?" She never looked at my chart and was setting me up for an infusion....

Nurse 2 came in to give antacid for the anesthesiologist and asked what I was there for. I said D&C and her response was "oh a dusting and cleaning!" DH and I were floored and both were speechless. It was so callous and hurtful. She went one to say "yeah we got right up there and clean it all out" with a tone like she was selling housekeeping. I was livid. Thankfully the OR Manager agreed that it was completely uncalled for and was addressing it. 

Recovery this time has been a struggle as well. I have had more bleeding this time, and even passed a few clots even after my procedure. I was having a terrible time with constipation as well, so it's really hard to grieve when I am still in the thick of it. This whole thing just plain sucks.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Post op tomorrow to check me out and to go over genetics testing results.

GTKY: if you had no budget what would you buy yourself? A money making investment so that I could quit my job but keep making money down the line.

@maggiemadeit i saw this yesterday and meant to chime in... my best friend has APS. i am not well versed in the ranges, but i know when she got her first test that showed it she then had to test again 12 weeks later. like they wouldn't make the official diagnosis off of one result? not sure if that's worth asking about. i only bring it up b/c she had 3 back to back losses, and then finally baby aspirin/lovenox allowed her to have her 2nd child. this was after a very boring, normal first pregnancy. i don't want to be more scary sounding, i just wanted to share that with you!

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? Just over here pondering what my body is doing in the TWW. i've added in progesterone suppositories as of last night, so if anyone has any feedback on that, i'm all ears! 

Any testing coming up/any recent results? once i hit CD1 a barrage of things from meeting w/the RE

GTKY: if you had no budget what would you buy yourself? i'm torn between a house keeper b/c that's like the gift that keeps giving, or my dream month long vacation to india.

@tessiesmom26 we posted at the same time, lady first things first. big effing hug. i am so glad your husband was able to come back even if it was a fight, b/c that last hug when i had to leave mine b/c of covid rules was brutal. as for that nurse, i am just rendered speechless. i legit had no words and i am just so sorry. and i'm so glad you gave feedback, i hope she got written up and understands the gravity of her words. on a more technical note, the constipation is awful - do you have any colace on hand? it helped me a lot.

@anniemarie887 I took a stool softener last Thursday and by Friday I left work because it went from one extreme to the other. After a little bout on Friday, I went back to the constipation and now I'm getting back to on track, I think. I didn't have this issue with my first D&C so it was not something that I was expecting.

@tessiesmom26 ugh the worst, and always my fear when messing with colace. i had never had anesthesia before and i was like wow, ok, now i know what ppl mean when they say it can mess you up. which is wild bc it is typically a quick surgery in the grand scheme of surgeries.

@tessiesmom26 I’m glad you were able to address your treatment with someone and you felt validated and heard. I’m so sorry you’re still in the thick of things. I really understand, I’m just starting to see daylight myself. Sending you a lot of love and support.
