Any thoughts about this cycle? I was looking ahead to my predicted "fertile" window this cycle today - and I realized it will be literally smack dab in the middle of DS's birthday weekend and DH's entire family will be staying at our house. How is this happening to me AGAIN?! I cannot believe the irony. I feel like I'm being ****blocked by his family lol. But in all seriousness, now we will have to get creative about DTD again, and I'm exhausted by the idea of having another cycle wasted due to poor timing.

Rant/Rave? DS wanted to invite his entire kindergarten class for his birthday, ...meh... , so we did. I asked for folks to RSVP by a certain date because I'm that person. Currently only 5 out of 14 classmates have RSVPed, and it's days past the date. I get it because I've personally done this before too - but my biggest fear is having a million more kids show up than I expect, and I don't have enough food, favors, etc. 9 kids unaccounted for adds up.

GTKY: Are you doing anything w/your LO to celebrate Pi day? Every year on Pi day, my boss challenges us to present a pie of our own creation, either virtually or in-person. Most people bake pies (some people literally presented "pie" charts last year  ), and I have to figure out what to make. Soon

Any thoughts about this cycle? Genetic testing cycle. I was really hoping to do my BC cycle this month but nope.

Rant/Rave? Insurance is annoying. My genetic testing is scheduled for draw on Wednesday though. 

GTKY: Are you doing anything w/your LO to celebrate Pi day? Um my little nerdy child will probably have all sorts of things to tell me. I totally forgot until I got to work. My 9 year old is in advanced math so who knows.

@mrsmtothek or maybe you could use family to your advantage and get them to watch the kids so you can DTD!? We’ve done this with our son and asked for them to watch the baby so we can have “an important discussion” lmao worked great!

@mambo5-2 at least you have insurance and things are covered tho right!? Will you be starting your BC cycle after this one!?

WTO/TWW? WTO (actually waiting for CD1 after stopping by 21 days of birth control to give me a withdrawal bleed)

Any thoughts about this cycle? Optimistically hopeful!? 

Any questions? I’m excited and nervous all in one at the thought of actually being able to add another little one to our family  it just didn’t seem real until I got my fertility meds! How did you all find going from 1 to 2!? (My 15 mo currently still breastfeeds and bed shares so like super reliant on me lol) 

Rant/Rave? But if both? I have a feeling this cycle may work out and when I was trying for my LO I was like working out and eating healthy and doing yoga for stress but this time around I’m like trying to have a glass of wine here or there before I can’t and I don’t have the time to workout with my toddler and I’m just feeling a little guilty I guess about it?

Any thoughts about this cycle? So I took a few days of birth control at the beginning of this cycle to try to push back ovulation out of my every-four-weeks-weekend-at-work, and it worked! I got a positive LH strip about six days ago when I was not out of town. Some of the other signs were a little wonky so I’m wondering if I *really* ovulated, but I guess I’ll find out in a week or so. 

Any questions? Nope.

Rant/Rave? This weekend a stomach bug hit my toddler and we had to completely strip down her car seat to clean it, bathe a couple of stuffed animals, and get vomit out of our carpet. I’m still not sure the carpet doesn’t need more help. 😬 Luckily husband and I haven’t come down with it, and she’s feeling better. (Luckily, toddler looked pretty good, running around and playing like normal, and ate pretty normally in between just a few projectile vomits. And the BRAT diet is basically her favorite foods right now.)

GTKY: Are you doing anything w/your LO to celebrate Pi day? Argh I forgot it was today! Every year I think, “next year I should bake a pie on pi day,” but I forget most years. 😅

Any thoughts about this cycle? I thought I was starting my period yesterday but it never progressed past some barely there spotting so now I don’t know. My best guess on when/if I ovulated would have been 3/6 based on temps/OPKs but I don’t know for sure and since this is my first cycle post mirena it is pretty up in the air.

Rant/rave? Rant - I’m working on a data analytics certificate right now and it’s been a pretty frustrating month, the course just isn’t organized well which is agitating plus I’ve had my mind in baby daydream land so I’m not doing my best work 🙃 Rave - my husband has been so great lately, I just want to pounce on him all the time haha.

Any thoughts about this cycle? This is my first cycle actively ttc, so I'm excited/nervous about how it'll go. This is DH's first time TTC (our other two are from my first marriage) and he is very excited about all the things.

Rant/Rave? Girl scout cookies are done! Oh my gosh! DD is in first grade and a daisy, we are a brand new troop, and this was our first cookie season. I am so glad it's over! Didnt know cookie drama was a thing before.

GTKY: Are you doing anything w/your LO to celebrate Pi day? I love pi day. We always have pie for dessert. This year I got each of my kids keychains with the pi symbol that read "I love you more than the digits of pi."

@mrsmtothek I love that your boss makes a big thing of pi day, that sounds like fun. What did you end up making?

@portentosa Hello!! I am in the same boat as you. Kids are 8 and 5 from my first marriage. SO and I have been trying since September, but no luck yet. I'm lurking at the moment but your update inspired me to say hello since we're both in a similar situation. 😊

@portentosa We'll have our meeting on Friday, so we didn't celebrate *on* Pi day, but I'll present and bake mine then. My boss has quarterly meetings scheduled to align with our equinoxes and solstices (we're all NASA contractors ).

DH requested an oreo peanut butter pie concoction so that's what I'll be attempting! Stay tuned And also, welcome!

@mrsmtothek Ugh I hate the lack of rsvp's. I've found certain people, family included, who are just notorious non-rsvpers. For DD's 1st bday, DH forgot to put a RSVP line on the invite, so we had no idea how many people were going to show up...we had 65 people!!!! We just about ran out of food. I hope your party turns out great!

@mambo5-2 horray for finally getting the testing started. I hope you get the results quickly.

@krb99 Oh no, vomit in the carpet is the worst! That smell just doesn't seem to go away for a looong time, especially if you regrettably put shag carpet in the nursery.

@mamafox14 being in the unknown/limbo is so frustrating.

@portentosa I'm normally not a huge fan of girl scout cookies, but damn did the new brownie ones flip my switch. so good! I can only imagine how stressful it all is selling them and not trying to upset the kids or other families. cookie drama!

Rant/Rave? Back to work after 2 days off for DD's surgery (she's hanging with grandma today), and I took 2 days off last week after my dad passed away. I'm feeling so behind and have so much to do, but am also still struggling with everything. Hoping work will be a nice distraction.

GTKY: Are you doing anything w/your LO to celebrate Pi day? Well, DD got a tonsillectomy on Pi day, so we did not have any pie Maybe next year.

@bearmomma1 yeah, those new brownie cookies were a huge hit with my DH.... he bought so so many boxes, lol. I wish you luck with ovulation this month and am sorry for your two recent losses. Hope you have a nice distracting week.

Guys I need to vent and I can't vent in the other threads because living children.  I am having a RPL panel run before moving to IVF.  When my current youngest was born we thought we would be done because she was born at 28 weeks due to severe pre-e and IUGR and Cholestasis and just all of the things.  She had a super easy NICU stay but it was scary, I was inpatient to try to keep me pregnant as long as possible and it didn't work great obviously. Well they are running this panel and so far the couple of things that have popped so far increase the likelihood of Preeclampsia as well as RPL.  I freaking angry because they wouldn't test me for RPL in 2013 because I didn't have 3 consecutive losses but had had 3 losses in my life, I'm just mad.

TLDR I am mad that a simple blood test could have, in theory, helped me not have some shitty stuff happen to me.

@mambo5-2 It’s great that you are getting some answers, but how infuriating to only be getting those answers now, after all you’ve been through. I’m mad on your behalf, and also sending hugs and punching bags.

I usually check in with TTCAL, but this rant is specific to LC so I am going to put this here, but in a box, because it also mentions *TW - pregnancy loss*

I have 2 LC and I’ve had 2 losses in the last 8 months of TTC #3. My MIL asked me yesterday if we would try again. I didn’t want to answer, because that’s between my husband and I, so I just politely said that I wasn’t sure yet. Then she started telling me that she loves me and wants me to be happy, and that I need to learn to appreciate what I have and stop trying for more. It came from a place of love, but I am honestly hurt. I love and appreciate my children very much. In fact they are the reason that I want more children. They are that wonderful. But I don’t see how it’s any business of hers how many kids I want or how much I am willing to go through to have another. This is hard enough without judgements on my choices. And now if I am lucky enough to have another baby, I will always know that she said that. I love my MIL very much, but I feel like I won’t move past this one easily. End rant. If you made it to the end, thanks for reading my novel.

@maggiemadeit hugs lady I've also heard some painful things when thinking of having more kids. How many children I choose to have no matter what I have gone through to have them is my choice and DHs choice. Other people need to shut their traps.

@maggiemadeit Sending you more hugs. My stepmom and dad made similar comments to me in the past and it has stayed with me. I'm so sorry that someone close to you said something so hurtful.

@mambo5-2 Yeah that sucks. NICU stays can be traumatic and even if it couldn’t be prevented entirely just shortening the need for it (delaying pre-eclampsia to a later gestational age) would have been good and important. 

@maggiemadeit While a big part of it was probably well meaning and really thinking of your feelings, it’s a little like she doesn’t want to be sad about future miscarriages so she doesn’t want you to put *her* through it any more. So now that’s one less place to get support. Only you know what you can handle and she shouldn’t project what she would do onto you.
