Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.
I lie on the bathroom floor to check baby with a doppler when I shower because I don't want my husband to realize how neurotic I am and don't want my kids to walk in and see it just in case I can't find the hb. So the only privacy I get is before I shower.
I am looking for new houses at work, instead of working. Are we crazy for moving during a pregnancy?! I’m thinking better than with a newborn.
3 more school days until St. Patrick’s day break, and 8 more school days until Spring Break. Thank god, because my head has not been in the game since finding out I was pregnant.
@laj0217 we moved when I was 36 weeks pregnant with DS1. I couldn't do any of the heavy lifting, but was in full nesting mode, so it was actually wonderful timing
Last day of school before spring break and while my son is ecstatic I am majorly dreading. The hopefully upside will be if my husband can get the pool going this weekend bc I will be living in the pool from now on.
@laj0217 I moved 3000km at 28 weeks when I was pregnant with my daughter (we drove 2 cars over as well, so drove the whole way myself). It was an effort packing up the house by myself (my husband worked FIFO at the time) but definitely do-able. We are planning to move again this pregnancy too because we're in 3 bedroom house but there's no storage, so the 3rd bedroom is floor to ceiling boxes & nursery furniture, pram, etc. that we've kept from my DD.
Been waiting all week for this thread 😂 I ate, and absolutely enjoyed, grocery store sushi (faux crab kind) alone in my car for lunch on Monday. And I have every intention of making a tuna melt for lunch at some point this week.
Cool! We are too old to bribe friends to help us, so I think we’re going to hire movers. It’s just across town to a bigger house because our 3rd bedroom is also storage 😂 The goal is to move by the end of May, so I have all summer break to unpack/decorate etc and then just coast that 1st month back at school til baby comes.
@mnmomma84 you don't have to wait, you can always use the previous friday's lol - the thread is good for the whole week!

@laj0217 I'm trying to remember are you one of the ones working in a high school? High school kids are great at helping move for not much money. We've moved 3 times in the last 4 years and we always were able to pay some of my students to help out.
My husband really wants to move due to our neighbor thinking smoking Marijuana doesn't count as smoking in our nonsmoking building. Our building manager won't do anything and our landlord said we need to call the cops and get it filed if we want him to do anything. There's nothing near us to rent for a year so I'm assuming the soon to be 5 of us will be living tiny next year in a 2 bedroom apartment.
I have moved at 10 weeks pregnant and at 6 days postpartum. I 100% suggest doing it pregnant.
@laj0217 do you know any high school teachers who could recommend? Or any one you work with have some high school aged sons? I've only worked in small districts so we know the kids k-12 pretty well.
If you have a local Home Depot or Lowe's, you can also see if there are day laborers that camp out there. That's what I've done to get relatively cheap moving help to both load and unload the truck when I moved to California.
