I'm 15 weeks pregnant today, I found out I was pregnant a week ago and I'm an active user. Will this affect my baby? I go for ultrasound gender reveal Monday. Praying Everything is good
@knottied2e032f71d6ba238 You should discuss this with your doctor. Using drugs during your pregnancy can negatively affect your baby’s health and can have long term affects. Your doctor will be able to discuss treatment options, including medication, that can help you keep your baby healthy. Please discuss this with your doctor as soon as possible.

QFP
I have a few questions. What are you using? I think depending on what drug(s) you actively use will determine what kind of effect it could have on the baby. Second is do you plan to stop using now that you know your pregnant? I can say confidently that the more you use and continue to use the more adverse effects it will have on the baby. Last question is how are you getting a gender reveal prior to your first appointment?
my suggestion is to get into a program to try and get clean ASAP and call your dr explain the situation and try to see one ASAP
Meth, paying 50$ the hospital is what confirmed pregnancy by ultrasound, and we called and made appointment, yes I am getting clean. The heart beat was 150 when it was confirmed. And nothing looked adormal. I went to the hospital to confirm a home pregnancy test and I went so I could stop using. Which is gave me reason to.
I’m so glad that you are following up with the doctor and hospital. I sincerely hope you can find a good support system to help you stay clean, even after the baby is born. I don’t feel qualified to really help you because I have no experience with either drug use or helping someone recover from that, but I will also say some prayers for you and your baby. The most important thing to do now, besides staying off of drugs and away from anyone else doing them, is to be honest with your doctor so they can help you.
Hey, I'm glad you're taking steps to get clean and take care of yourself and your baby. I'll keep you in my prayers for your health and sobriety. Staying clean is so important. Remember why you're doing it. 🙏🏻💗
@knottied2e032f71d6ba238 so glad you are wanting to get clean. I will pray for your strength and the health of your baby. Please be fully honest with your doctor so they can offer you correct support and resources. Always remember the little miracle growing inside you as the reason you must do this.
I can imagine this has been a scary surprise, but I’m proud of you for taking the right steps for you and baby to be as healthy as possible!! Stay strong for both of you.
I was quite the party animal, and found out I was pregnant right before the 2 month mark. Definitely tell your doctor- I did (my first appt I still had things in my system even tho I had been ‘clean’ for 10 days). It will be noted in your medical file, and, you’ll likely need to be seen for more regular testing. You will also have a drug screening at EVERY APPOINTMENT. My doc (and I do not know how accurate this is- not being a doctor) that any damage had “already been done” and to most certainly stop the “partying”. Depending on your state, the baby’s first poop (I forgot what it’s called) can or WILL be tested. It shows whats been consumed in the last 4-5 months of pregnancy. Certain states consider usage during pregnancy child abuse. From what I’ve researched- it seems like its active usage AFTER you discover you’re pregnant- hence the frequent drug testing and likely post birth baby drug test. I’m not saying this to scare you, its just what I’ve learned in my journey. It is never easy to get clean and sober, but the important part is that you’ve made the decision and doing what needs to be done now! All my blessings for your strength and recovery!
I have been clean 4 years. Absolutely no judgement. I hope you find a good support group to help you on your journey in recovery. You cannot do it alone!! My advice would be to take care of yourself and baby and to get a sponsor. Best wishes and thoughts for you and baby!
