  • @theblondebump that sounds like fun!  I need a new pedi but I had an ingrown toenail dealt with a few weeks ago and I need it to fully heal before I can go again!
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • @theblondebump I'm looking forward to getting one in a couple weeks when we head to our NY house. MIL got me a gift card for my birthday to a place out there. I also love that your husband goes with you. It took me awhile to convince mine that he needs it, but now he goes before sandal season every year, and normally once during the summer too.
  • @kboydbowman ugh ingrown toenails are the worst!! I had SO many last pregnancy, I think probably because my shoes fit a little tighter towards the end of pregnancy. Hope you get all healed up soon.

@jhysmath lol yes my husband loves getting them. He also loves massages and facials which is funny to me but also great because he likes getting them so never complains when I’m like, let’s go do this! Especially on vacations haha. Also, that sounds like a very nice gift from your MIL! (Sounds like we have similar MILs based on some of your other posts, so I’m pressured she got you a nice gift haha)
  • @theblondebump she really does try and I'm a terrible person for hating on her so much. I was very happy with the gift certificate. I always feel like there's an ulterior motive though, like she got that for me in hopes it means I'll drop my kids off with her for the day, which I'm not cool with and don't like doing. My BIL got my husband and I gc to a fancier restaurant where we can't bring the kids, and then have MIL a card saying my present to you is you get to babysit. I don't like that my children have been "gifted" to anyone.
  • @jhysmath ew, I would hate that too. That’s nice that yours tries. I take it back, our MILs are nothing alike then lol.
  • @theblondebump
this one had been brewing for a couple months before the pregnancy.  I had the same toe have problems and have to be treated like 15 years ago.
    Current pregnancy -

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • Ugh @jhysmath that’s really rude of your BIL! Giving away your children as a gift without your consent? People shit me.

@kboydbowman have you considered having it permanently made to go away? I used to dance & have sooo many issues with my feet and toes (I would lose my big toenail at least once a year) that once I’m done having babies & breastfeeding I am going to get my nail bed narrowed so I stop getting them.

My weekly random is that my husband and I have recently been talking a lot about autism and ADHD/ADD as we have officially started diagnosis with our DD. We know that it’s 80% hereditable so we both suspect we are both. I saw on tiktok a while ago a test that people having been using to get autism diagnosis as an adult so took the test myself. The threshold for diagnosis is 65 (nobody in the studies that was neurotypical scored above 65) and I scored 161 😂 it was actually really validating because it explains so much about my life. I sent it to my best friend and she scored very similar to me and that makes sense why we are so close. Not sure if I will do anything with this new knowledge but it’s interesting to know.
  • @wiseh The permanent solution is to have a sliver cut off to narrow the nail bed and have the root killed. Which is what I had done 15 years ago, and is also what I just had done. There really is such a thing as a permanent solution, it can come back at any time.

Also, now that I had a clean ultrasound, I'm going to start making my pregnancy tea again. Brewing a batch now. Does anyone else do this?

  • oh wow @kboydbowman I had no idea it wasn't definitely permanent! Though I did know there are two methods, one done under local anaesthetic and the other under local. Hopefully this one lasts you a minimum of 15 years again! It could be all those pregnancy hormones that have made it not so permanent - something like the permanent hair removal I had 10 years ago that all grew back when I was pregnant with my DD
  • @wiseh did it really all grow back? I had laser hair removal and they said there could be random hairs that come back with pregnancy. I’m gonna be so disappointed if it all comes back!
  • @laj0217 I haven't had laser hair removal, but I just wanted to let you know that hair DEFINITELY can change after pregnancy. I went from a slight wave (2A) to full blown curly (2C/3A) after my daughter was born. I hate it so much because I can't figure out how to manage it. Hair with pregnancy is so weird.

  • @trapperkeeper87
Do you think that means there's a chance all my grey hairs will go back to my natural color??

    @wiseh
We did testing for ADHD/ADD with both my boys. My 8 year old had some symptoms associated with sensory processing disorder but he didn't fall on the spectrum at all. The process can be long but you'll be so glad you did it! My teenager has an IEP for his ADD and I don't think he would be as successful in school without the additional support he gets.

    @kboydbowman
    What's in the brew?
  • @mnmomma84 fingers crossed for the greys hahaha

@trapperkeeper87 the hair on my head is a constant mess. Half wavy, half straight. I’ve totally given up and just use my husband’s shampoo because I like how it smells. Work is lucky if I brush it lol.
  • @mnmomma84 You never know! 😄🤞🏻

@laj0217 That's kind of how mine was. It was straight and then a bump of waves in the middle, halfway down until the end. That was annoying enough, but this is another level. On the plus side, I really only have to wash my hair like once a week now. 🤷‍♀️
    DD 10/2019
  • @wiseh, yeah the nail can curve in again.  I think 15 years was a good long time for it to last.  It actually was a problem for a month or two before I got pregnant, I was just ignoring it, so I don't think it was the pregnancy hormones (for once!)

@mnmomma84 - stinging nettle, oat straw, rose hips, spearmint, and a ilttle bit of red raspberry leaf.  I'll note that the red raspbery leaf is slightly controversial - some people will say it's good, some people will say bad, some say in small quantitites.  I'm in the "small quantities" category.
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • @laj0217 not all of it. My underarms all grew back, but my legs grew back in patches and so did my bikini. When I say patchy I mean on my legs there are areas that have absolutely no hair & others that have sparse hair (like 1 hair every 0.5cm). It’s not obvious that my hair is there if you’re far away but I know it’s there and it’s annoying.

@mnmomma84 I think we’ll definitely be glad. She was born with delayed visual maturation (which is visual impairment with no apparent reason for it that spontaneously resolves on its own). She’s been in speech therapy since 12 months but graduated from there around 2 as she’d caught up enough to interact with society, but new behaviours have started popping up that don’t fit the stuff linked to her vision. We’re currently in counselling (my husband & I so we can get some methods of handling her behaviour) and will start OT in a couple of months & go from there. Have been giving her melatonin at night too and already helping so much - not having a screaming battle for 3-4 hours every night has really helped ease everybody’s mood in our household. Long story short, even if she’s given any diagnosis the therapies will help us all cope and parent better so there’s only positives from what I can see! I’m so glad your son has an IEP - they’re so hard to get (here anyway) but so worthwhile.
  • @wiseh *sigh* guess it’s better to know and be prepared
  • My grandmother who was 72 years old and completely healthy died unexpectedly on 2/9 and although an exam was done her cause of death isn’t found. She was like a mother to me. We were incredibly close. I talked to her everyday and lived with her for 3 months over summer break and during breaks from school. I can’t actually comprehend that she’s gone. I gave a short speak at her memorial service and went to her visitation but I still don’t believe it. Devastating loss for our family. She was my only living grandparent. I wasn’t ready for her to go and I never got to say goodbye and I still feel like we’re going to talk on my way home from work on Monday.
  • @foreveronyourside I’m so sorry for your loss, it sounds like you had a really special relationship with her ❤️
  • I'm very sorry to hear that @foreveronyourside

  • I am almost 11 weeks and feel like I’m HUGE! I definitely already have a belly but it’s because I’m sxtremely bloated and constipated! Anyone else? Natural remedies for this? SOS 🙈
  • @lpm223 hahaha I’m with you. I posted this earlier on the GBQT but it sounds like it’s mostly bloat 😂 if you find anything, let me know. I drink tonnnnnssss of water and a decent amount of fiber but here we are haha
  • @kboydbowman thank you for these! Super interesting every time. :)
  • @kboydbowman I’m 30 years old. I don’t think I said it before!
  • This for sure is random, but I really miss Target! We’ve been out of the US for 8 months now and I have had so many waves of grief of not having Target anymore 😭
  • @komamommy You had not. :) Spreadsheet updated.  Are you having your 3rd kid?  I have 3? for you.

    be our third born!

@babywiik I’m so glad I’m not alone! I am dreaming about going home and browsing Target. Hopefully in June we will be able to go!
  • @kboydbowman love your data! My due date got changed to 9/5 today (from 9/12).
  • @komamommy yes I had you for 3rd baby, I don't remember why I had the ?, but I have changed you to a plain 3 - I'm counting people's babies, not pregnancies. :)

@kboydbowman Are you a data analyst? Super interesting seeing our stats! Thank you.
  • @foreveronyourside I'm a clinical psychologist, but currently what I primarily do is quality management for various health services at my prison.  So yeah, lots of data. :)

@mokay19 congrats!!! which one did you buy?
  • @mk2022x um, I’m not sure which one it is since it was given to me 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter! It’s in a pink box though 😂

@mokay19 very helpful thank you 😉 lol kidding! I’m very jealous. Thinking of getting one too! Would be nice to check on babe whenever I want instead of having to keep telling myself that I’m pregnant until I’m told I’m not 😂
