Workout modifications!! 💪

Hi everyone!!
I’ve been working out pretty consistently the past 10 years! I always used to go to the gym, but have been working out at home for the past 8 months (Covid). I have lots of equipment which is helpful!

I was wondering what modifications everyone is doing to their workouts?! I heard I’m not supposed to be working out while laying on my back and avoiding heavy heavy weights.

Are you still doing regular pushups? Hip thrusts? Bulgarian split squats? Or taking it easy and doing banded workouts?

I’d love to hear what everyone is doing! None of my friends who have had kids used to workout. Would love to hear what everyone is doing!!

Ps I’m 14 weeks pregnant!

  • 14 weeks pregnant too and similar workout situation to you!!! I havent made many modifications at all yet, other than not working out when I was feeling nauseous. Im close friends with some of the prenatal personal trainers at my gym and really the only thing theyve told me not to do is any exercises where youre twisting your abdomen (russian twists, etc). Ive heard that even the exercises on your back are fine (assuming you do like 45 sec - 1 min intervals, not laying on your back non stop the whole workout), so ive even kept up with my regular bench presses, etc. Everything else had been the exact same exercises with the exact same weights so far... regular pushups, bulgarian split squats, single leg RDLs, hip thrusts, etc. I really only plan on stopping once the bump either gets too large and in the way (like theres no room to push up lol) or if it starts to throw my balance off.

  • @brittylovely It’s labeled “Fitness Friday 2/11” and I just bumped it up, so it’s only 6 or 7 threads down in this August group! :) A new one may be started for this week or since it hasn’t been super active, maybe changed to monthly? But there are questions and prompts in that thread, so I’d love to hear your workout style and preferences!😊 It may inspire me to get a little more active!😅
