Losing weight so I can ttc

Is anyone else trying to lose weight so they can ttc? I’m current at a 39 bmi and my doctor wants me under 35.

Re: Losing weight so I can ttc

  • Hi there! I've been where you are. I'm actually currently 4 weeks pregnant, and losing weight, to make sure the baby will be fine.

I have a ton of ideas and suggestions for you, mostly about things that did and didn't help.

    1. Keep your eye on the target.
    2. Follow fertility nutritionists, IVF coaches, IVF clinics etc on social, the good ones post about tips and tricks, and recipes that help with weight loss and give you the nutrients you need for fertility.
    3. Avoid doing extreme diets for quick weight loss. Been there, done that (most of us). The result? I needed to change my diet to get the vitamin levels back on track...
    4. The Lifesum app helped me a lot, there are many other similar for you to try
    5. Watch on youtube yoga for fertility etc.

  • I was at a 33 bmi when I first got off my pills (5ft tall and 170lbs.) I figured it would take me a few months to conceive cuz my fertility was questionable and horomones out of whack all my life. Not too mention I'd been on the pill with no breaks for 19 years. Anywho I got prego in less than a month. And I went from 170 to 182 and it dropped back down to 178.5 during week 6. I've heard that you can safely still lose a pound a week while pregnant through exercise and portion control. Amd that's what I'm gonna try and do
  • It's great that you're taking proactive steps towards your health, especially with your goal of trying to conceive (TTC). Many individuals face similar challenges, and it's completely understandable to want to achieve a healthier BMI before starting this journey. Losing weight can not only improve your overall well-being but may also enhance fertility and create a more favorable environment for pregnancy.

Consider setting realistic, achievable goals and seeking support from professionals like nutritionists of fitness experts who can guide you on this path. Remember, every small step counts, and you're not alone in this! If you have any questions or need resources, feel free to ask.
  • I was in the same boat! My BMI was 42, and my doctor wanted me under 37 while TTC. It felt overwhelming at first, but I made small changes and started drinking Mummy Magic Weight Loss Tea—it really helped! I lost the weight and finally hit my goal. You’ve got this!

I'm in a similar situation — trying to lose weight before TTC because my doctor also recommended getting my BMI down. It can feel overwhelming some days, but focusing on small, consistent changes like eating more balanced meals, moving a little more, and just being kind to myself has made a big difference. Progress might feel slow, but it's still progress. Cheering you on — every step you take is bringing you closer to your goal, and it's so worth it for your health and future baby. Also, I’ve found it helpful to look into supportive supplements to keep my energy up and fill in nutritional gaps — Pharmacy B2B has been a great resource for that. They offer a wide range of options to support your journey in a practical, no-nonsense way.
