R/R: Disappointed this morning. After having no symptoms last month, I had all of the symptoms this month. And of course both resulted in a BFN so just a cruel reminder not to ever read into anything. I guess I now need to follow up on reaching out to my midwife this week about additional thyroid testing and a discussion of what next.

@abjm0325 I'm sorry about the BFN. Sounds like reaching out to your midwife is a good idea. Remind me: what was the issue with your thyroid?

Typical LP length: 16 days on progesterone

Testing: I've decided I'm gonna be one of those ppl this cycle that starts testing at 8DPO. Cause I've never done that, so they novelty is exciting. 

R/R: Well, so I've been spotting now for 5 days. It started at ovulation, and I thought "oh that's new... I've never had any ovulation bleeding." But like, 5 days later, I'm scratching my head and trying not to freak out. The only thing that's different this month are the TCM herbs, and I've consulted my acupuncturist, and she said that these herbs aren't knowing to cause mid-cycle bleeding. So... go figure. I've been reading about the cause of the bleeding and it's basically some lining being shed when the progesterone / estrogen switch dominance. Anyway, she told me it doesn't mean this cycle is out, and I have no idea what to think otherwise.

@acleverusername That spotting definitely sounds unusual. Maybe worth reaching out to your doc if this cycle doesn't work out? As for my thyroid, they ran a TSH in December which came back 2.7. So within normal range, but apparently for TTC it is good to have it under 2. They didn't run any other thyroid tests though, so I'm going to see if they will run a full panel and then make recommendations for me.

@acleverusername I spot from 3 dpo until the day before AF and did get pregnant but lost it at 6 weeks.  I'm now on progesterone supplements. I would ask to get your progesterone levels checked to see where they are. For me the spotting isn't new since I stopped bc 2 years ago, but for it being new and going on longer than a few days I would get a check up.

@caseys02 I've definitely have Luteal Phase Defect (due to my thyroid) so I have to take progesterone vaginally from 3DPO until I take an HPT. This spotting started on the day of ovulation. I have read that some ppl experience ovulation spotting (5% of women), but it usually lasts 1-2 days. Mine has been going on for 5 days, but it is drying up. The only thing I changed this cycle was TCM herbs, and also taking L-Arginine to help build my lining. Anyways, it's weird and my acupuncturist thinks it's weird, but I'm just going to continue taking the herbs this cycle. No point talking to my doctor since she's not the one treating me with herbs. But I'll probably get my own P4 test done in a few days. For data and such.
