Baby is the size of a(n): Paper clip, soon to be strawberry.
Team: 💚💚
Upcoming Appointments: NIPT blood draw and full exam with U/S on Wednesday 1/26
How are you feeling?: just really tired. Growing people is hard work.
Rants/Raves: After a month of not being able to smell, I am starting to be able to smell again. I put on hand lotion in class this morning and I could smell it. I almost cried.
Questions: can I just stop working now? Ugh. I'm tired. Will I ever get energy again?
GTKY- What is your favorite food? Homemade baked macaroni and cheese with stewed tomatoes on top. Guess what's for dinner now. 🤪
Team: Finding Out! (Maybe early with NIPT if insurance can ever get back to me...)
Upcoming Appointments: Next one is 2/18!
How are you feeling?: I'm starting to feel a little more like myself. Still so so hungry! Nausea doesn't happen as often, which I'm so thankful for! I can't decide if I'm bloated or showing, since it still seems so early.
Rants/Raves: Am I the only one that doesn't like announcing? I hate all the questions that come with it and the attention. But thankful I have family and friends that love us and want to know all about us!
Questions: Anyone had to pay for NIPT out of pocket?? What was your cost (if you don't mind sharing!)?
GTKY- What is your favorite food? PIZZA. Hands down.
Upcoming Appointments: genetic counselor appointment on Tuesday, quick OB on Wednesday to check on babe, NIPT blood draw on Thursday
How are you feeling?: pretty good other than some intermittent nausea
Rants/Raves: picked up my last progesterone refill yesterday, 2 more weeks!
Questions: is first tri over yet?
GTKY- What is your favorite food? I don’t know if I could pick just one favorite but probably Thai/Vietnamese food.

@brittanynmorris no personal experience paying for NIPT yet but I’ve read that depending on the lab/test you can call and ask for the out of pocket price and it goes down to like $200
Upcoming Appointments: 02/22 for the 12-week US + NIPT
How are you feeling?: mild nausea and exhausted. On weekends, I get 12 hours of sleep.
Rants/Raves: This is my last pregnancy so I am trying to enjoy it but it is hard. I know this will pass. Only 3 more weeks...

@brittanynmorris I talked to Natera last week and their cash / no insurance price is $249 for regular panel and $349 for expanded panel (not sure what all is in both but the $249 is the standard one)
EDD / Weeks + Days: August 17; 10w+5d
Baby is the size of a(n): Strawberry / kumquat
Team: finding out via NIPT
Upcoming Appointments: Friday, Feb 4
How are you feeling?: Mostly ok besides exhausted. My stomach is still queasy a lot, especially if I let myself get hungry so snacking a lot
Rants/Raves: DD exposed to COVID at school - fingers crossed she stays negative
Questions: How did you tell your other kids about the pregnancy? Planning to tell DD after getting the sex from NIPT but don’t know how yet
GTKY- What is your favorite food? Favorite single food is Mac and cheese; food type? Mexican or Hibachi 🤤
@brittanynmorris my doctor gave me an Invitae kit to take to a lab and said even if insurance doesn't cover it, it's only $99. Your doc does have to order the kit for you from Invitae, but it could be worth checking out if your insurance won't pay for testing!
So exhausted all the time but relieved to not feel nauseous all day long anymore I’m so glad they partially filled my meds. Hopefully the rest of them will be into the pharmacy today.
Rants/Raves:
Not right now.
Questions:
NA
GTKY- What is your favorite food?
I always feel like this is such a tough question… I base foods off of my mood. It’s the same way I get dressed. Lol. I’ll go broad with a category. Seafood. I grew up near the beach so it is one of my favorite things. Now all I want is a big plate of crab cakes…
@bridgiebee82 yay for being able to smell! It seems like such a small thing but it’s not. Also, I don’t know how it is with twins but I usually start to be a little less tired in second trimester. So only a few more weeks maybe!
@brittanynmorris I was super private with our third and didn’t announce until we were at like 20 weeks. I’m going to announce earlier this time but I am not super looking forward to announcing really. I kind of enjoyed people finding out if they saw us the last time. But I have a six year old and a four year who cannot wait to tell, and I know MH wants to announce so I will. Ha. Also, we paid for NIPT out of pocket with our second. It was MaterniT 21 and it was $300. We called and asked what the price was if we didn’t run it through insurance and then we got a refund of $150 ((making it $150 OOP)) for doing a survey.
@coco2787 yay for only two weeks left of the progesterone!
@laddy12 we just told ours before bed one night but it didn’t really sink in until last Friday when I brought home a “baby picture” from our ultrasound. Also mmm I could go for some Hibachi right now too.
Upcoming Appointments: my nipt draw is a walk in, next ultrasound is 2/8
How are you feeling?: Last night I puked for the 1st time. I think my stomach was too empty so lots of painful heaving for just the orange I'd eaten. As a result slept even worse than usual.
Rants/Raves: anyone else want to announce and be done with it? One of my best friends is having her baby shower on the 5th and I'm waiting until after for social media announcement
Questions:
GTKY- What is your favorite food? Right now all I want in the world is a cherry or strawberry toaster strudel and they're out everywhere.
Baby is the size of a(n): 2 little strawberries 🍓🍓
Team: finding out
Upcoming Appointments: Feb 2
How are you feeling?: for the most part good. Eager to tell my parents in a couple days!
Rants/Raves: Worried about flights as so many are getting canceled. So not ranting yet...mostly wishing for luck 🤞
Questions: not today!
GTKY- What is your favorite food? The answer I usually give is spaghetti. However chicken Tika masala, lobster, pizza and peaches are all pretty close!
@brittanynmorris - Similar experience as @laddy12 when I spoke to Natera last week on OOP costs. Curious how you requested the info from your insurance company? When I spoke to my insurance company on Friday, they were pretty vague on the amount they would actually cover which is annoying and just makes me want to go the OOP route.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/20, 10w2d
Baby is the size of a(n): strawberry/chocolate truffle
Team: finding out!
Upcoming Appointments: 2/15 for all the blood work, ultrasound, NIPT, etc.
How are you feeling?: Nausea has been coming and going. I feel like I get tricked into thinking "oh the worst is over!" and then another wave hits and crushes my hopes.
Rants/Raves: Had a psoriatic arthritis flare up today so that's been fun to deal with.
Questions:
GTKY- What is your favorite food? I have to agree with @cas060 - I've been devouring hummus and pita chips lately.
@bridgiebee82 usually 2nd tri comes with an increase in energy but not sure if that’s true with twins…
@brittanynmorris I’ve paid OOP twice, the first time was $300, the second time was $200. It seems like $200 is about the average. Unless you’re AMA or are at increased risk for other reasons it’s almost never cheaper to go through insurance. Although that may have changed since it’s being done in place of the NT scan in many clinics so the coverage might be better than it used to be.

@bridgiebee82 Baked Mac & Cheese sounds heavenly right now!😍
@brittanynmorris We will pay out of pocket and I’ll include a picture of our pamphlet for Natera. And yes we still have our Christmas tree up, because 1st Trimester energy levels aren’t allowing anything else.😂
Baby is the size of a raspberry (or gummy bear) and about to be cherry!
Team: Finding out!! In less than a month, yay!!
Upcoming Appointments: NIPT blood draw on February 7th and next Ultrasound with hubby on February 15th!! There’s a slim chance our gender results could come back in time to know if it’s a boy or girl on the 15th, which would make it even more bonding when we see the baby again!🥰
I’m feeling okay! Anywhere from fairly good to dry heaving a bit. I’m not feeling constantly nauseous as I did, even in the early time on Zofran. I don’t know how much of it is Zofran and how much it is just being a few weeks later.
I’m having trouble with what to eat and how much. Not everything the sounds good makes me feel good. Sweets make me not feel good, but I still want them.. I’m in a place between nothing sounding good and wanting specific things-perhaps the mildest of cravings.
My favorite food is Greek and then Thai. Which kinda sounds good right now.. But currently? I kinda want stuff Taco Bell like. I just finished the Taquitos in our freezer and I’m sad about that. They have been tasting good and not making me feel bad.
Upcoming Appointments: 1/27 for my first OB appt. I also have to take an early glucose test at this appointment 😭
How are you feeling?: Nausea seems to be easing up a bit! Today was the first morning in about two weeks where I didn't throw up!
Rants/Raves: I'm feeling so unproductive at work. I have a demanding job that requires 45 to 50 hours per week, but I'm only putting in 40 while I'm feeling so crappy. I'm falling behind, but have no drive to do more.
Questions: none ATM.
GTKY- What is your favorite food? This is a hard question because even thinking about food makes me want to puke. I suppose pre pregnancy I was a big fan of any kind of pasta.
@meagan822 our Christmas tree is still up too. As well as the garland all over our banisters. Goal is for it to be down by valentines. I think that’s reasonable.
Upcoming Appointments: Thursday is my first OB appointment, I’ll be 11 weeks
How are you feeling?: today was a bad, nauseous day, I accidentally skipped breakfast due to having to start work early and paid for it all day. Really looking forward to the crushing exhaustion and nausea to end.
Rants/Raves: we booked a spring break trip since I know I won’t want to travel this summer, and I’m super excited about it!
Questions: none right now
GTKY- What is your favorite food? My mom’s pasta, meatballs, and red sauce. Maybe I’ll make them this weekend!
@malloryfrommn Literally walking in the door to work deserves praise. I can’t imagine doing that right now! I’m happy your nausea is easing up some!
@itsme215 Perfect! I’ll add that to my list of goals and if not, I guess we’ll be cutting out paper hearts to attach to the greenery!🤣
@buffythevampireslayer I’m sorry you had to deal with that much nausea today. It’s frustrating when there’s one little thing that throws the tummy off for the whole day! Where is the babymoon going to be?😍 We are going to Hawaii in a couple months and I’m so excited! I’ve never been that far south, but I love warmth!😂🌴
How are you feeling?: Nausea and food aversions are slowly starting to taper off. Still not eating meat or seafood but not an issue. Some occasional "cramping" but nothing severe. I took a nap after work yesterday and it was nice to have the time to rest, until the pups woke me up
Rants/Raves: We got hit with a snowstorm in Greece yesterday, which is atypical for us. The government announced a public holiday for today because they can't handle it So the whole country is off today and I'm not complaining!
Questions: None ATM
GTKY- What is your favorite food? I love a smothered burrito. I used to work at a Mexican restaurant that served 1 pound burritos covered in tomatillo sauce and cheese. It was heaven.
emilim821 I have an online portal that I can communicate with my insurance company. They were very vauge and didn't really answer the question. They said it was covered but then later sent a message if I have hit my deductible. Which means, it's not covered. Lol. So I was just curious of cost. My provider uses the MaterniT21 test. I'm very low risk, so I mainly wanted to do it for finding out the gender early.
@mdfarmchick Thank you! That's the same test my provider uses, so I think I'll just call them to see what out of pocket costs are since my insurance is of no help...
@zzz2022 we are due date twins! I'm actually kind of jealous of your snow. We had a snow day last week and barely got a dusting. It was underwhelming, especially for where I live. I'm used to not having off unless there's at least 8 inches of snow on the ground. I never thought of a Mediterranean country like Greece as being able to have snow. Anything is possible I guess. Lol
Baby is the size of a(n): prune! Or the head of a tootsie pop
Team: knowing
Upcoming Appointments: CA PSP lab work 2/4. Gender ultrasound 2/12 (fingers crossed), 2nd appointment with OB first week of March (approx 16 week appointment)
How are you feeling?: most of my symptoms have diminished (thankfully) I have little spurts of nausea here and there, mostly when I’m hungry or really tired. I’m still exhausted but getting better
Rants/Raves: none
Questions: none
GTKY- What is your favorite food? Today? Mac n cheese and bagels with extra cream cheese
Jumping in late again. Anxiety has still been ruling my life lately and pregnancy-related talk has felt so scary lately. I'm sorry for being absent. Working on it
EDD / Weeks + Days: August 22/24 (22nd based on O date and today's US, 24th based on first two US. Who knows lol)
Baby is the size of a(n): Strawberry
Team: Blue!
Upcoming Appointments: Graduating from my RE at my12-week appointment & US on Feb. 8, then first appointment with my new OB on Feb. 11.
How are you feeling?: Today I went to a pregnancy spa for an ultrasound just to ease my nerves. Everything looked great, and checking did wonders for me personally. Physically my nausea has been picking up but thankfully ginger is usually enough to bring it down. I have the tiniest baby bump starting to show and I'm loving it lol.
Rants/Raves: If you're anxious, go get the extra scan!
Questions: Is anyone planning a repeat C-section this pregnancy?
GTKY- What is your favorite food? Ooh. A good steak or Sour Punch Straws. Or corn dogs. Honestly not picky
Team: baby. When I was born, my grandpa said he's not a grandpa until he has a grandson, so everyone called him grandpa out of spite. Literally his nickname was Grandpa with everyone... not just family.
Upcoming Appointments: Blood draw in a couple of weeks. I'm bouncing between two countries so I am just establishing care in the second one.
How are you feeling?: Heartburn, tired. So thankful for every day.
Rants/Raves: I had a bad/scary/inaccurate ultrasound last week. It made me so stressed and sad. It's not good for the baby. Remember you're your best advocate.
Questions: I am just learning so much, I can't think of any questions. You don't know what you don't know, amirite?
GTKY- What is your favorite food? It's usually a nice juicy steak with a big old salad and a big glass of red wine... Now I just can't even meat right now and obv no wine. So my latest favourite is fruit. Luckily there's a tonne of fruit right here by the Amazon.
@aukeev I’m glad you did the pregnancy spa ultrasound and have some peace of mind.
@hola_knotties I am so glad that you waited and did a second scan. That whole scenario is crazy. Hopefully everything can be perfectly boring and normal from here on out.
@kbtt2022 and @meagan822 thank you! We decided not to do a baby moon and instead do a spring break trip with my daughter for a last hurrah as a family of three. I know she will be excited to have a sibling but I also want to give her some special time with just us where she has our undivided attention. We are going to a family resort in our state that is also near an amusement park and has indoor/outdoor pools, game room, restaurants on site and lots of fun things for her to do. And we splurged on a condo/suite so we will have our own room which I feel like is a huge luxury when traveling with kids.
@meagan822 Hawaii is amazing, I hope you have a fabulous trip! What a perfect baby moon and also a great place to take kids when you inevitably want to go back.
@zzz2022 I’ve always lived in Alaska, and I grew up in a family of 7, so they couldn’t afford a lot of travel. When we did travel out of state, it was to see relatives in Maine. When I was 19, I went to see my husband in college in Montana and that’s when we got engaged (on Thanksgiving!) As you can see, this is a pattern of all northern states! We both love Alaska, and ultimately want to live here, but also want to travel! We haven’t traveled out of state since getting married 3 years ago, but that’ll change soon enough! We wanted to have kids fairly young, and also give them travel experiences, so we plan to travel as it/they grow up some, and then do some of our own international trips when we are a little older. We love experiencing different cultures and seeing all different places!
@aukeev We are so happy you are here, and please don’t feel like there’s any specific amount you are expected to participate! The support is here for you, and we love your participation, but you also need to listen to where you are mentally and what your needs are. Putting you and baby first is primary, so don’t feel guilty if that means you need to step back from anything else sometimes!🥰 I’m so so happy you had a reassuring ultrasound!!💕
@hola_knotties I’m so thankful the previous ultrasound was wrong and I’m sorry you had to go through that!! Prayers for a calm and healthy pregnancy and birth for you!❤️
@aukeev So great you got to see you little one again and happy that you’re feeling a little more comfortable to be spending time around here. I’ll be having a planned c-section with this baby. I’m really nervous, but I had a very reassuring conversation with my provider yesterday.
@buffythevampireslayer That trip sounds amazing! I’m sure it’s something your daughter will remember.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/23, 10+ weeks
Baby is the size of a(n): Strawberry
Team: Hoping for green, but will probably end up finding out
Upcoming Appointments: Intake yesterday. Waiting to hear from the scheduler about an ultrasound. Going for all the bloodwork and NIPT on Monday.
How are you feeling?: I've been exhausted this week, but having a lot of trouble sleeping. I stay up too late reading because I can’t turn my anxiety down, and then wake up at 3:30 or 4 just to be an anxious mess until the kids wake up. I normally manage my anxiety with exercise but it’s not helping much right now.
Rants/Raves: My 2 giant babies earned me an early glucose test, even though I never had GD with either of them. Ugh.
GTKY- What is your favorite food? Steak, preferably with onions, mushrooms, and blue cheese. I haven’t had any meat in weeks (aversions) but I am starting to think a steak sounds pretty good!
@maggiemadeit Thank you! What was that conversation with your provider like, if you don't mind me asking? Is this your first planned c-section, or were either of your others planned?
@meagan822 Thank you for saying that! It felt so easy to jump into by MBM with DS1, but baby talk has felt so stressful this time.
@hola_knotties So so glad your next scan was good! Seeing a healthy little baby especially after a scare, is the best feeling!
@bridgiebee82 I noticed that too! Yeah, people tend to think that it's always beach-weather here, but it can get pretty cold. This is very rare for us! I remember we got a light dusting the first year I moved here and when I asked someone when it would snow again, they replied "In 5 years." So I think everyone's a little baffled at what is going on.
@meagan822 Thank you for sharing! I had to look at a map afterwards to see how far north I've ever been, which was Niagara Falls I'd love to travel to Alaska. I hear amazing things. I hope you and your husband have a wonderful time in Hawaii!
@aukeev My first was an emergency c section. I had a bad reaction to morphine and a terrible recovery. My second was a VBAC that didn’t end well, so I am a mandatory c section this time. I told my provider my concerns about another c section, the morphine thing and also not wanting to schedule it too early. She was so reassuring and told me that the difference between scheduled and emergency is night and day, that they would ensure the hospital knew about my pain management preferences, and said I could schedule it as late as 40 weeks and wait to go into labor first if that’s what I wanted. I felt really comforted and reassured. I hope you have a similar experience when it's time to have that conversation with your doc/midwife!

Rants/Raves: Had a psoriatic arthritis flare up today so that's been fun to deal with.
Questions:
GTKY- What is your favorite food? I have to agree with @cas060 - I've been devouring hummus and pita chips lately.
Married: 4/5/13

EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/18 10w 4d
Baby is the size of a(n): strawberry
Team: finding out (doing NIPT soon)

Rants/Raves: I'm feeling so unproductive at work. I have a demanding job that requires 45 to 50 hours per week, but I'm only putting in 40 while I'm feeling so crappy. I'm falling behind, but have no drive to do more.
Questions: none ATM.
GTKY- What is your favorite food? This is a hard question because even thinking about food makes me want to puke. I suppose pre pregnancy I was a big fan of any kind of pasta.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 10w4d
Baby is the size of a(n): kumquat/fig
Team: 💙
Upcoming Appointments: Thursday is my first OB appointment, I’ll be 11 weeks
How are you feeling?: today was a bad, nauseous day, I accidentally skipped breakfast due to having to start work early and paid for it all day. Really looking forward to the crushing exhaustion and nausea to end.
Rants/Raves: we booked a spring break trip since I know I won’t want to travel this summer, and I’m super excited about it!

GTKY- What is your favorite food? My mom’s pasta, meatballs, and red sauce. Maybe I’ll make them this weekend!
@buffythevampireslayer good for you for booking a vacation!
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8-21, 10w2d!
Baby is the size of a(n): Chocolate truffle
Team: Finding out!
Upcoming Appointments: NT on 2/9
How are you feeling?: Nausea and food aversions are slowly starting to taper off.
@mdfarmchick Thank you! That's the same test my provider uses, so I think I'll just call them to see what out of pocket costs are since my insurance is of no help...

EDD / Weeks + Days: August 25th
@hola_knotties I’m so thankful the previous ultrasound was wrong and I’m sorry you had to go through that!! Prayers for a calm and healthy pregnancy and birth for you!❤️
@aukeev So great you got to see you little one again and happy that you’re feeling a little more comfortable to be spending time around here. I’ll be having a planned c-section with this baby. I’m really nervous, but I had a very reassuring conversation with my provider yesterday.
@hola_knotties So happy to see you back here!
@meagan822 Thank you for saying that! It felt so easy to jump into by MBM with DS1, but baby talk has felt so stressful this time.
@hola_knotties So so glad your next scan was good! Seeing a healthy little baby especially after a scare, is the best feeling!
@meagan822 Thank you for sharing! I had to look at a map afterwards to see how far north I've ever been, which was Niagara Falls I'd love to travel to Alaska. I hear amazing things. I hope you and your husband have a wonderful time in Hawaii!
