The clinic has a protocol for major holidays where if the IUI is supposed to be on a holiday they're closed, they do it the next morning, so I guess we're having sex tonight, and hoping to still do the IUI Sunday?
Apparently the office is still planning to be open, but we live half an hour away and I'm not risking two hour-long round trips during a blizzard. Uggggghhhhhh this is so frustrating!
oh no @fantasyflyte!! i'm so sorry this whole thing has proven so very very stressful. what a mess. for whatever it is worth, though, if you're able to get the IUI by sunday morning this is still very much within the window of catching that egg. As I recall from back in the day when i was obsessively reading articles about IUI timing, a 36-42 hour window is not uncommon. but definitely have sex too. and hopefully the roads will be open and you'll be able to sneak in tomorrow!

@fantasyflyte at my clinic the IUI would be Sunday, they only count a positive/peak with FMU so tomorrow morning would be the one that counts, and they would schedule it for the next day. So don’t stress! But yes have sex tonight!

Thanks guys. I'm thinking about asking when I call tomorrow if we can do an ultrasound Sunday morning to see if I've already ovulated or not and do the IUI if I haven't? Or maybe just IUI and hope. We'll figure it out, it's just frustrating. Especially at the end of an already bad day.
@fantasyflyte there is some evidence to suggest that if ovulation has recently occurred, an IUI may be even more likely to succeed than just prior to ovulation. Just so long as its not too long after ovulation. I'm not sure how well an ultrasound tech can guess re: # of hours post-O you might be. There are also studies that suggest that an IUI pretty much anytime after LH surge is detected and up to 42 hours afterwards all work approximately as well. I've been where you are, and I know how tempting it can be to try to manage the timing on the IUI because it's basically the only aspect of this you can attempt to control. But try to trust that if you're within that broad window, you're pretty likely to put sperm and egg into contact with one another.

here's an article. before reading this, remember to keep in your mind that according to the way most clinics do things and how they did things in this study, your "peak" reading would be this morning (saturday), since they instruct women to only test for their LH surge once each morning. so... taking that under consideration, this study indicates for women who have received their positive first-thing-in-the-morning opk, an IUI +/- 24 hours after that (so sunday morning for you) is better than 2 days later (monday morning). but even 2 days later, there are still a significant # of women who get pregnant.

My nurse emailed me back today and said that for best timing, they'd say to have sex today and tomorrow, but she's going to ask the doctor if we should still do an IUI tomorrow and email me back.
We did have sex last night, and will continue through the weekend if no IUI, so maybe the letrozole will turn out to be the key and trying on our own will do it.
ETA just for clarity, my RE has you do the CBAD test between 4 and 8 pm, and if it's positive to leave a message on a dedicated voicemail line and just come in the next morning. Maybe they do it that way because they do their IUIs in the morning?

Dec -21, standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 5; 11 days of stims. retrieval yields 5, 4M, 2 reach day-6 blast (4AB & 4BB). 1 low-level mosaic (chr. 3 deletion), 1 complex abnormal.
Feb '22 FET (low-level mosaic): CP.
May '22 egg retrieval, lupron flare protocol. HGH priming for 1 month before stims; md lupron 20/20u daily; menopur 225, follistim 225, 10k trigger after 8 days of stims; AFC 10; 13 retrieved; 10 mature; 8 fertilized. All frozen at 2PN for later thaw, grow, and biopsy.
