How are you feeling?: symptoms are definitely waning, but gradually, and I still don't feel as well as I want to. I'm feeling like I did at six weeks - sour stomach that can turn into nausea if I overdo it (where "overdo it" means move like I normally move)
Rants/Raves: It snowed a foot and a half and we're all off work/school for MLK day so we're just having a snowy day and it is excellent!
Questions: none
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? Favorite: the snow. I love it!!! Least favorite: umm, can't think of any. Winter is my favorite.
Upcoming Appointments: 2/1 for first trimester screening US, 2/8 for OB follow up
How are you feeling?: mostly ok, some nausea, some cravings
Rants/Raves: I’m looking forward to felling fetal movement so I can feel a bit more connected to baby
Questions: None
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? When it’s over. I don’t like the cold. I think looking at snow is pretty but I haven’t enjoyed it in a few years. My past injuries all hurt when it’s cold.
How are you feeling?: Not great. The Covid cough is back which has become dry heaving at times. Most of the day I’m both hungry and nauseous simultaneously.
Rants/Raves: Thankful for sick days 🙏🏼
Questions: This nausea will subside, yeah?
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? I’m all about summer, so I’ll take a hard pass on this cold weather. But I do love me a cozy sweater/hoodie! (Which will be helpful when trying to hide a baby bump)
How are you feeling?: Just bleh. I go through cycles of bleeding and cramping and being fine. Ready to see what the deal is tomorrow.
Rants/Raves: It’s just been a long few weeks with quarantine, Christmas holiday break, and the pneumonia before that, and thanksgiving before that. I just need a day alone.
Questions:
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? The one day where it’s not blazing hot
How are you feeling?: i am scared to jinx it, but i think coming out of the nausea fog finally.
Rants/Raves: my daughter gets to go back to her Montessori tomorrow! and i can go to work, in PEACE!
Questions: natm
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? well, when not pregnant i love to ski. least favorite is just living in the cold, the older i get the less i tolerate it.
Rants/Raves: my son goes back to daycare tomorrow after being out for 10 days
Questions: none
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? Favorite: Curling up near the fire with a book. Least favorite: taking the toddler to the park when it’s cold and rainy because he needs to get out of the house
@zzz2022 the nausea "subsides," but it's like is less-bad nausea really that much better than worse nausea? It's demoralizing.
@anniemarie887 Yeah for Montessori!!! I also love to ski and I'm disappointed I can't go this year since it's been two years. (Last year we didn't go because the ski resort near us had like no rules for covid mitigation and we didn't get vaccines until the end of march, and the year before the one night I was going to go up with my husband I got sick and couldn't go; now I can't go because of pregnant.) I was thinking I could tube with the kids one day in February (2nd tri!!) but my snowpants don't fit me! There might be a pair of my dad's old ones at my parents' house I could use.
Team: finding out now, maybe lol I still say green
Upcoming Appointments: next Wednesday for bloodwork.
How are you feeling?: tired, crampy (after sex so... I'm assuming that's why), and this stupid covid cough is making me nuts.
Rants/Raves: covid. I'm sick of hearing about it. I'm sick of having this stupid cough.
Questions: None atm
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? My favorite part about winter is the silence when the snow muffles all the sound. I get to cozy up with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate. My least favorite part about winter is the cold. I hate the cold. My face should not hurt when I go outside. Lol
@wisewitch222 i haven't been on my skis since feb 2019, right before i got pregnant with my daughter. i've been skiing since i was 3, i did have a few year break at some point in my 20s so i'm not worried about getting back on, but i'm not sure if 2023 will be the year bc these kiddos will still be so little. we plan on putting our daughter on skis next season when she is 3. ironically my husband didn't start snowboarding until his 20s and has stolen all my guy friends (lol) and goes on fabulous boys only trips every year. they're off to park city in a couple of weeks.
@bridgiebee82 i totally get thinking about finding out since you've got twins, but man oh man, being surprised is so fun! my obgyn loves women who want to be surprised, and typically the l&d nurses do, too. i won't lie, i had my daughter at roughly 6.30am on christmas eve, so right before shift change, and i had basically the entire nursing staff in the room for my delivery bc they all were so excited about a surprise christmas eve baby!
@fuzzywombat i so wish we had a fireplace @and_peggy i'm glad you get to go tomorrow, please keep us posted. @zzz2022 i know i could google this, totally being lazy, how cold does it get in greece? @wigglyicecream i am wondering if i'll feel this baby sooner, i know some moms say the 2nd+ it's easier
@bridgiebee82 we have the same feeling about winter and the cold! Love the pretty snow, HATE the cold.
@fuzzywombat oh yea, curling up with a good book and a hot drink....so cozy.
@and_peggy I'm so sorry you have to experience all this anxiety! Crossing fingers and toes it all works out and the bleeding stops for good soon.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/7, 11+1
Baby is the size of a(n): Lime or Brussel Sprout depending on the app...that seems like a big difference Lime or brussel sprout? Do we just have unnaturally large limes where we live? idk.
Team: Finding out. I have zero patience.
Upcoming Appointments: Jan 25th, next week!
How are you feeling?: Good! Finally! Taking it one day at a time. Nausea hasn't been raging the last few days but I've had it wane before only to come back with a vengeance...but I am getting closer to the 2nd trimester so maybe just maybe it's gone for good.
Rants/Raves: My 8 year old daughter and I went on a little trip this weekend, staying at a hotel right now and I went down to get breakfast for us and it was already cleaned up!! The front desk guy gave me the wrong info. Said breakfast would be served until 10. Nope. It was done at 9. WTH!? I think that's SO early to be done with breakfast anywhere, but especially a hotel where people SLEEP IN. Ugh.
Questions:
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? Love fresh snowfall, hate old grimy snow. Hate the cold. Grew up in CA where it never snowed and we've been in Idaho 5 years so I'm used to it but still....Texas will definitely be a BIG shift when it comes to winters. Apparently it was in the 70s/80s there the other day. I can't even fathom that in January....
Team: Finding out, hopefully in the next few weeks
Upcoming Appointments: Ultrasound tomorrow and then NIPT Friday.
How are you feeling?: Nauseous, I felt fine early pregnancy and since 9 weeks its been off and on. There doesn't seem to be triggers it just happens. I am nervous because I really want to start planning for baby things, but TW I am scared to do anything in case of MC end TW. I will be happy if we get a good ultrasound and NIPT results, then let the planning begin.
Rants/Raves: I am scared to eat because I hate throwing up but also I am hungry. My boyfriend's roommates made everyone breakfast yesterday and I couldn't eat much of mine, I don't think they understand pregnancy and I felt so bad and unappreciative for not eating the homemade delicious breakfast.
Questions: Does anyone have tips for telling your boss? I have a older male boss, who is very nice, but takes work seriously and I don't know how he is going to take the news.
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? I love how pretty it is and I like winter clothes so much more than summer clothes. I don't like working outside in cold temperatures, I am in Wisconsin and we are in for a moderately cold stretch. The good news is its a very part time job only 2.5-3.5 hours a shift with my main job being inside so it could be worse.
How are you feeling?: Gleeful, celebrating being pregnant everyday. I’ve been doing daily pregnancy affirmations and they’ve replaced this shadow of worry that was following me around. Unisom is a lifesaver, and I’m thrilled my 3xdaily puking & constant nausea is a solid week in the past. It enabled me to get out for two walks in the last three days, which is also boosting my mood!
Rants/Raves: Feeling rather isolated, wish I had a sister or a mom to chat with. I want to go to stores like Bath & Body Works, or grocery shop myself, but I’m taking Covid too seriously to risk exposure.
Questions: Anyone else forgoing genetic testing? I’ve been trying for this miracle rainbow baby since 2013, and I can’t wait to meet, love and care for them. It seems to be pushed a lot though. We both have no concerning family history.
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? The sound of snowblowers drives me batty. Plows, not so much, but the constant droning… yes I have misophonia. My favorite thing about winter is the stillness and intense quiet just after/during snowfall. 😝 no wonder why the snowblowers are killing me.
I’ve turned down genetic testing every time. For us, it’s not something that would make a difference so I completely support forgoing if that’s what feels right for you.
@bridgiebee82 same for the cramping after a climax. Almost makes it not worth it, almost. Agree with the lovely peace and stillness that comes with fresh snow. Fellow ‘82 baby fyi
@starkette vacation breakfast ending at 9am is truly a tragic story. Hope you two found something yummy!
@and_peggy I'll be thinking of you tomorrow @betsummerswilliams Happy to hear you've found some pregnancy affirmations that are helping you. They were huge for me in my last pregnancy. @bridgiebee82 I find the uterine contractions after sex really reassuring. They remind me that my body knows what it is doing, and my ute is practicing for the big day!
EDD / Weeks + Days: Aug 23, 9 weeks tomorrow
Baby is the size of a(n): Raspberry
Team: Currently trying to convince my husband to go green, but we'll see.
Upcoming Appointments: Intake appointment next week, finally!
How are you feeling?: I'm feeling a little anxious, because I am starting to feel better. My symptoms don't feel so strong the last couple of days, and it has me worrying. Also just getting more anxious the closer we get to the first appointment.
Rants/Raves: My son went to bed early last night with a fever, and I was expecting to be playing nurse with him all week, but he woke up this morning totally fine. It's a January daycare germ miracle!
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? I'm a New Englander, born and raised, so I have a lot of feelings about winter lol. I love the way the snowflakes fly at the windshield when you're driving, the peace and quiet of a new snowfall, a snowy run, being the first footprints after a new snow, that crunchy sound it makes when you walk in the snow, taking the kids out sledding. I don't like how storms inconvenience things. It's annoying when plans are cancelled because it's not safe to go anywhere. It snowed for something like 7 consecutive years on my birthday as a kid!
How are you feeling?: I’m afraid to say it, but I think I’m starting to slowly feel better. Don’t tell my husband, he’s taken on 90% of diaper changes in this house due to my nausea.
Rants/Raves: We told my MIL yesterday who is an emotionless human. Basically no response except, “interesting, I had some dreams about babies recently.” So that was fun.
Questions:
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? Favorite is a heavy snowfall + snow day. Also love the sweaters. Least favorite are slushy mess days.
@katiecattherese It definitely can feel awkward. I’d copy HR on the email to your boss. For my first, I provided my due date and said I wanted to provide enough notice to plan and help with finding coverage during my leave. I also asked to set up a call to discuss the details.
Baby is the size of a(n): strawberry / cardinal tetra fish / paper clip
Team: green
Upcoming Appointments: MFM for first trimester screening on 1/31 and OB on 2/4
How are you feeling?: still pretty tired and my sleep is a mess, also having daily headaches. I did get a pillow though that hopefully will help with the sleep part.
Rants/Raves: we finally get our car back tomorrow! $4000 later….. (luckily insurance covered $3500 of it but still…. so much $$ for hail damage!)
Questions: This is more of a self reflection. Since I wasn’t expecting to get pregnant (given that we went 8 years with no success), I feel like I am so far behind knowing what to expect, what to buy, what stuff I’m going to need, etc. Which is not like me at all! I’m a huge researcher when it comes to buying new things, planning vacations, picking new restaurants, etc. So I feel like I’m kinda flying blind here. I know nothing about which brands are best, how much stuff costs, etc. I’ve taken care of babies before so like actually caring for it, I’m actually fine with. But all the stuff that comes with it? Totally lost. But also, I don’t want to jinx anything and am still being super cautious, so I’m scared to even do too much research and planning! It’s a conundrum. I know I’ll get it sorted out, not really too worried about it, it’s just not a familiar place for me to be in!
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? It never snows here so on the rare occasion that it does, it’s fun for like a day! until it melts and is warm again. Least favorite is when it’s in the 80s in January and it seems like we basically run our air conditioning all year long. I also hate cedar season that hits us in winter.
@bridgiebee82 I’m right there with you on the Covid cough… I’m so over it. The inhaler I was prescribed worked for about a week and now I’m back to coughing again.. arg.
@anniemarie887 Parts of northern Greece do get quite cold and snow in the winter isn’t uncommon up there. Here in Athens, a cold winter day is something like mid-40s, but it’s also typical to have days back up to the 60s. I grew up in NY, and over winters, so this is quite lovely
@itsme215 I feel the same way in regards to research and planning, and feeling nervous to do too much of it yet.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/18, 9w 4d
Baby is the size of a(n): Tater tot
Team: finding out!
Upcoming Appointments: 2/10, and hopefully an ultrasound before then
How are you feeling?: I'm still super tired, but I have a bit more of an appetite... sometimes.
Rants/Raves: I had my first appointment last week at 9 weeks, which was pretty much just blood work. I was told it was too early to try to find a heartbeat. I was told to expect a phone call to schedule an ultrasound, but they haven't called yet. I just want some way to know baby's okay in there!
Questions:
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? I love being cozy (I'm currently in super comfy sweats under a giant blanket) and the fresh air. I hate driving in bad conditions.
@jenkm1110 I think that’s bizarre they told you at 9 weeks you’re too early to find a heartbeat unless maybe they meant with the Doppler. I know some of us had success with the dr finding the heartbeat early on Doppler but others (like me) not so much. If they meant on US that is simply not true. I saw the heart beat of this baby at 7+6 and I know others have seen the HB in week 6.
@and_peggy thinking of you. Hopefully you get some answers tomorrow!
@betsummerswilliams I think if we had no concerns, we probably wouldn’t do it (the only draw is finding out the sex so early). As long as you’ve been waiting, I absolutely think you should do what feels right for you and your precious family.
@starkette what the heck kind of time is 9am for breakfast to end?! That’s dumb.
Re: sex. How anxious should I be? Because we’re abstaining completely and it’s getting untenable because dagnabit, I like me some sausage, and I’m jealous of all y’all lucky gals that are still getting lucky.
***
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/30/22, 7w6d
Baby is the size of a(n): keyboard key
Team: finding out!
Upcoming Appointments: 1/26. I have a question about it…
How are you feeling?: I’m making it. Called my OB today just to make sure I’m handling this BS the best way for Lil Bear. They listed all the things I needed to do, and reassuringly I’m doing all those already. Also I can breathe again through my nose occasionally so that makes me very happy.
Rants/Raves:
Rave: I found a show on Discovery+ called “Houses from History” and it might be my favorite thing HGTV has done in a LONG time. They’re from, like, Plymouth, Mass. and they actually try to do some level of actual restoration and preservation, which is not what you see a lot with these shows that take old houses and flip them. I do love watching other people restore old houses.
Rant: my bean dip, which I was VERY excited for, arrived from my grocery pickup yesterday dented, and normally I would just go and get it swapped but I can’t, and I am just GRUMPY about the whole bean dip situation, which makes me grumpier because that is the absolute dumbest thing in the world to be grumpy about.
Combo: the kittens are working hard at making sure I know my boobs are still hella tender.
Questions: how much is too much to ask for at the OB? I mean, I’ve already had my first U/S at 6 weeks, where Lil Bear was just a blobby lil bit, and I’m hella lucky to have gotten it, but also - this has been / will be A Week and I want to check and see that we’re all safe and cozy in there if that’s not unreasonable to ask.
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? Look, I am a shrinking Southern flower. I do really well in the spring and fall, and do pretty good in the summer, but I hate the winter. I have to wear shoes that have closed toes, and sleeves, and everything. The only good thing about winter is blankets.
@mangoandguava I understand wanting the reassurance. It wouldn’t hurt to ask and voice your concerns. I think it’s unlikely to get another US unless you’re high risk or something is wrong but my mother’s motto is “nothing ventured nothing gained”.
Re: sex. It’s is perfectly safe throughout all the trimesters unless for some reason your provider has put you on pelvic rest. With that said , I haven’t had sex with my fiancé since the day before I got my BFP. I am nervous I’ll spot and that will make me spiral so I just don’t do it. I know it’s not super fair to him or me, but I’ll feel better hopefully after my next US. Also I just not feel like it, with being exhausted and nauseous last thing I want to do is sex. Hope that helps
@wisewitch222 ugh I am with you on the sour stomach I thought it was just me and maybe my ibs or covid so I’m almost relieved to read that I’m not alone and it’s probably just “normal”.
@wigglyicecream I also cannot wait to feel this baby! I feel like it will help my pgal brain so much!
@and_peggy I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow! Totally with you on wanting a day alone! My and children have been home for a week straight now and yeesh. I just want a nap in peace 🤣
@anniemarie887 & @fuzzywombat yay for kids going back to school/daycare tomorrow! I was all set to send my kindergartener back tomorrow but go figure he got a fever today. 😑
@bridgiebee82 I hear you on being sick of hearing about covid. I don’t think I really got the cough but this plugged ear can take a hike!
@katiecattherese I hope your u/s’s go well this week! When I was pregnant with my last two, I had an older male boss who also really valued work (and wasn’t super nice, but I still miss him lol) and I just told him. I also worked in an environment where there were toxic gasses and I was maybe expected to lift 50lbs sometimes, or at least help wrangle it, so I told him early for those reasons. His main questions were when I was due and if I planned on coming back, so he knew how to look for coverage for me.
@maggiemadeit it’s always either snowing or raining on my birthday, in March! Boo!
@itsme215 just a comment about your self reflection, even if you research like crazy, baby products are always changing and there is SOO much that you don’t need and that isn’t safe even from when I had my first 6 years ago, everything is different! So I feel like I’m with you there, except I know everything is expensive 🤣
@jenkm1110 your little tater tot!! Love that! And now I want tater tots! Haha
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/11 10+4
Baby is the size of a(n): lego guy, tetra fish, fortune cookie
Team: finding out
Upcoming Appointments: 1/31 w/dr and nt scan
How are you feeling?: my sinuses hurt. Maybe it’s covid related, maybe it’s because my house is super dry. I’m still nauseous and have very little appetite, but feel more sick when I don’t eat I’m just so ready to feel better already.
Rants/Raves: I’m so ready for this next u/s to make sure baby is still doing ok.
Questions:
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? I like looking at the snow and my children’s reaction to everything, but mostly I like when it’s over. It’s basically winter 6+ months out of the year here so it’s long and dragging.
@wigglyicecream I'm assuming she meant Doppler/what they would be able to do in the office, since I have to go to a different location for US. In hindsight I should have asked her to try anyway, but hopefully I'll get in for an US soon!
@mangoandguava "Houses from History" sounds awesome! And I am very sorry about your bean dip. Bean dip is very important. I also have been finding myself getting extra grumpy about things.
@paytonpedro@itsme215 I'm a big tots fan (and just had some last week!) so was extra excited when I read that size for today. My husband was confused/misheard me when I told him, and thought I was saying I wanted some tots. Which is also true, but alas, there are none in my freezer.
Baby is the size of a(n): TB did not update this for me today but tomorrow she/he will be the size of a strawberry
Team: finding out
Upcoming Appointments: haven't scheduled by second appointment yet, but should be in a couple of weeks
How are you feeling?: tired, and sick at nights keep waking up at 2 am
Rants/Raves: I have such a consistent routine/balance, that some times it makes me so nervous to think about how I'm going to do this >.<
Questions: any lucky mom whose symptoms have disappeared? It feels like it has been forever 😪
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? Only silver lining for me is that there are not many get togethers in winter here so it's been easier to keep the secret
@katiecattherese I would share the news, tentative due date, and reassure that you want to work with him to make sure that the team has everything they need to be prepared for your absence. Ask him for any ideas that he may have that you can start working on; maybe prepare a time line for different check-ins with him as you reach the date, etc. Good luck!
healthy lol I feel my chances are 60% girl, 40% boy Considering my symptoms seem different than with my son. we will be finding out from our blood test drawn today
Upcoming Appointments:
had one today, a little delayed due to contracting the flu and Covid- that was fun! I have my NT ultrasound on the 25th, telephone appointment with the dr 2/8, then in office appt with the DR 2/23
How are you feeling?: fatigue and afternoon/evening nausea, lots of pimples
Rants/Raves: I really miss sushi, and having a frosty cold beer or glass or rose! But so happy to see baby is growing and has a strong heart beat.
Questions:
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter?
Favorite: uggs, sweaters weather, and Christmas!! Least favorite part is that I miss the sunny warm weather activities like boating and beaching
@itsme215 We've been calling ours tater tot too! I think it's so cute.
@mangoandguava I don't blame you for being upset about the dented bean dip. I ordered 2 chicken tenders with a meal the other day, and one tender was super small. I was grumpy about it for a long time...
@bre2022 I feel you on the symptoms lasting forever. Hang in there. We just have to remind ourselves that it's all temporary!
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/11, 10 + 4
Baby is the size of a(n): Prune
Team:Finding out. No patience over here!
Upcoming Appointments: 2/1. Will also do NIPT this week.
How are you feeling?: Constantly nauseous & tired. Unisom helps a little. I'll take Zofran when I absolutely need to "function."
Rants/Raves:Annoyed because MH travels for work, so he has been gone a lot. Thank god for grocery delivery services!
Questions: Any tips for dealing with sciatica?
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? Favorite is when we actually get snow! We haven't had any this year The worst part of winter is definitely the cold. It's deceiving here when the sun is out and it looks warm, but it's definitely not warm!
@starkette I grew up in Austin (so jealous you’re moving there) - I love the winter weather there (I hate the cold). But it does get below freezing (barely) once or twice a year, so you’ll be some coldish weather!
@wigglyicecream definitely with you on being ready to feel movement!
@and_peggy I saw your ultrasound post! Congrats on a good appt and a wiggly baby!
@nursenicolee I miss sushi so much. And a cold beer. And sushi with a cold beer. My husband keeps getting sushi without me (it’s his favorite food) and I’m so jealous.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/10
Baby is the size of a(n): Baby sea turtle shell (which sounds cute, but I have no concept of how big that is)
Team: Finding out…which I will next week!
Upcoming Appointments: 1/27
How are you feeling?: still depends on the day but overall better. Definitely still have a sour stomach (thank you @wisewitch222 for helping me figure out what to call it), and yesterday it was definitely full blown nausea. Today it’s much more mild. The fatigue is still real though. I’m also starting to get a little anxious about getting my results of NIPT next week.
Rants/Raves: Rant - I’m ready for winter to be over, but the weather people say we might get even more snow than the two snows we’ve already had this month over this coming weekend. Rave - having yesterday off and a short work week this week
Questions: none
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? Favorite is hard because winter is my least favorite season, but I’d say cute sweaters and warm drinks. Least favorite is definitely the cold!
Baby is the size of a(n): "lime" but the measurements seem wrong
Team: green!
Upcoming Appointments: early Feb
How are you feeling?: so much better than weeks 6-9.5. but my stomach is turning back on me a bit - mostly in a food aversion-y way as opposed to general nausea
Rants/Raves: rave: I've started telling some friends and close coworkers and it's been really joyful! Rant: I feel like I've been kind of spotty here the past week or so. DS was home from daycare all last week because of a COVID exposure and we tried to work through it. Also we launched a house hunt last week and put an offer in yesterday! We're negotiating now and it's a bit of a stressful mess....but hopefully things will calm down a bit soon.
Questions: none
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? I ❤️ winter as a New Englander. Snow is pretty, DH and I got engaged after ice skating outside, and I welcome all sorts of indoor coziness. Least favorite part is how long it takes to do things - extra time for bundling up, extra time to warm the car, etc.
@betsummerswilliams I have forgone the genetic testing for both my previous pregnancies. We don't have any family history that would justify doing it and like you said it doesn't change anything for us so I didn't feel like doing it.
@itsme215 the good thing about living in the technological age of Amazon is that you can order any baby item you realize you need after the fact. I bought like 5 different baby bouncers (the lounging seats) for my preemie as she grew and had different needs. My only BIG suggestion is to refrain from buying anything super expensive that can only be used for a short time. We were gifted mamaroo (which was necessary for our preemie and we loved it) BUT she only used it a few months before she outgrew it. It's like $200! And now it just sits in the garage. I love the fisher-price infant to toddler rocker. It goes up to 40lbs! And I love the fisher price bouncer for when they are a tiny newborn. It's pretty cheap but so cozy for baby. Lastly, definitely get all the baby meds because chances are you'll need it in the middle of the night when all the stores are closed. An aspirator, fever/pain meds, gripe water, gas drops, saline for the nose, etc. I was soooo eternally grateful someone gifted me with all of that stuff. Even though I didn't need it for months, when I did need it we had it.
Oooof I wrote a novel. Sorry! I just remember being in this SAME boat and I'm a huge planner, too. But everything can be bought after the fact. All you really need when they come home is: a place to sleep, swaddles, diapers, formula just in case you need to supplement, and a car seat.
Rants/Raves: Everything. Insanely overwhelmed, depressed, stressed to the max, feel like I’m constantly throwing myself into a brick wall mentally and emotionally, in multiple aspects of life. Raves…. I guess that I really didn’t have morning sickness… and my 12 week appt went well?! today.
Questions: too many to list.
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? I live in NW Flordia so the weather is very pleasant, but its too cold to get into the water at the beach! But- I also miss living in the mountains and SKIING!
Re: Weekly Check-in 1/17
EDD / Weeks + Days: August 15, 10 weeks
Baby is the size of a(n): Lego minifig!
Team: finding out
Upcoming Appointments: February 4 at 12 weeks
How are you feeling?: symptoms are definitely waning, but gradually, and I still don't feel as well as I want to. I'm feeling like I did at six weeks - sour stomach that can turn into nausea if I overdo it (where "overdo it" means move like I normally move)
Rants/Raves: It snowed a foot and a half and we're all off work/school for MLK day so we're just having a snowy day and it is excellent!
Questions: none

Rants/Raves: Thankful for sick days 🙏🏼
Questions: This nausea will subside, yeah?
GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? I’m all about summer, so I’ll take a hard pass on this cold weather. But I do love me a cozy sweater/hoodie! (Which will be helpful when trying to hide a baby bump)

GTKY- What is your favorite, and least favorite, part of winter? Favorite: Curling up near the fire with a book. Least favorite: taking the toddler to the park when it’s cold and rainy because he needs to get out of the house
@fuzzywombat i so wish we had a fireplace
@and_peggy i'm glad you get to go tomorrow, please keep us posted.
@zzz2022 i know i could google this, totally being lazy, how cold does it get in greece?
@wigglyicecream i am wondering if i'll feel this baby sooner, i know some moms say the 2nd+ it's easier
Also, maybe they mean a key lime, because they're about the size of Brussels sprouts.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/4/2022 11w + 4d
Baby is the size of a(n): Lime
5.5.16 | 8.14.17 | 1.30.19
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/22/22 9w today 🤗
Baby is the size of a(n): Cherry 🍒
Team: 💚
Upcoming Appointments: 25th Jan - 1st in-office appointment w/doctor & ultrasound

@betsummerswilliams Happy to hear you've found some pregnancy affirmations that are helping you.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/6 / 11w2d
Baby is the size of a(n): lime
Team: finding out
Upcoming Appointments: 1/25
EDD / Weeks + Days: 10w1d (8/14)
@betsummerswilliams I think if we had no concerns, we probably wouldn’t do it (the only draw is finding out the sex so early). As long as you’ve been waiting, I absolutely think you should do what feels right for you and your precious family.
Re: sex. How anxious should I be? Because we’re abstaining completely and it’s getting untenable because dagnabit, I like me some sausage, and I’m jealous of all y’all lucky gals that are still getting lucky.
@mangoandguava "Houses from History" sounds awesome! And I am very sorry about your bean dip. Bean dip is very important. I also have been finding myself getting extra grumpy about things.
@paytonpedro @itsme215 I'm a big tots fan (and just had some last week!) so was extra excited when I read that size for today. My husband was confused/misheard me when I told him, and thought I was saying I wanted some tots. Which is also true, but alas, there are none in my freezer.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 9 w 6 days
EDD / Weeks + Days:
11weeks 5 days
Baby is the size of a(n):
lime! Or macaroon!
Team:
healthy lol I feel my chances are 60% girl, 40% boy Considering my symptoms seem different than with my son. we will be finding out from our blood test drawn today
Team: Finding out. No patience over here!
Upcoming Appointments: 2/1. Will also do NIPT this week.
How are you feeling?: Constantly nauseous & tired. Unisom helps a little. I'll take Zofran when I absolutely need to "function."
Rants/Raves: Annoyed because MH travels for work, so he has been gone a lot.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/8 11+1
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8.2 / 22+ 0
Baby is the size of a(n): plum or lime
Team: Finding out
Upcoming Appointments: Had one today
How are you feeling?: Melancholy and constipated.
