vaccine while pregnant

I’m really hoping to get some insight from moms to be with no negativity towards anyone at all. I truly just would like to hear how the vaccine while pregnant went for you, like side effects, was baby all good, legit personal experiences and not opinions. I struggle with the decision daily and just would like to hear from other women who may would share their experience with the doses

Re: vaccine while pregnant

  • Hi @malinboden, I recommend checking out the 1st Trimester board. There are several threads dedicated to the vaccine there if you want to see what a number of women have thought on this topic. Above all else, please talk with your doctor who I am certain will tell you what the medical community has overwhelmingly agreed with: the vaccine is safe and effective for pregnant women and greatly reduces the risk of serious illness from COVID.

  • Technically I got my booster the same cycle as this pregnancy (literally day 1). Just a sore arm and some fatigue - nothing significant. The only other symptom I had was some brain fog for a day after my first shot. It varies highly from person to person, but if you give yourself some leeway in your schedule the day following your shots and hydrate, it's very manageable.
  • I got my booster at around 8 weeks of pregnancy. All seems well so far 🙂

  • I got my booster at 14 weeks and I read that’s a good time to do it (or later) because your baby will be born with some antibodies.  I’m pro-vaccine, but I did feel inclined to do more research because of being pregnant, and overwhelmingly I read and was told getting boosted was the safest option for mom and baby.
  • The only waiting I did for my booster was to check with my OB to see if she had a preference with which one I got. Once I got the green light from her I scheduled it right away.
As for side effects, I just had a sore arm. No big deal.
  • I got my booster at 18 weeks. Felt really crappy the next day, but day 2 was back to normal. I do have an overactive immune system though (lots of allergies).
