Why my pregnant self is crying

Re: Why my pregnant self is crying

  • I'm crying over the new Daniel Tiger episode with the snow storm. I'm not someone who cries a lot, but this has me all up in my feels. The kids being scared, the parents helping calm them, their routines changing because of everything; it's just too much right now! 🥺

  • So far lol? The end of encanto got me! I also cried last night when I realized we forgot to put the ragu in the fridge and I wanted the leftovers for dinner. I feel ridiculous lol!

LOL. I saw my Swiss cheese plant had a new growth the day we found out we were pregnant and that set me off because my plant was having a baby too 🤣 and, I was watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on Saturday and I cried when Harry looked in the mirror and saw his parents.
  • @mk2022x that Harry Potter scene would get anyone! Your plant baby is definitely pregnancy though lol
  • There's a Pedigree dog food ad in which a boy says that his adopted dog used to have an owner, but then they were abducted by aliens - because why else would someone leave the dog? Cue VIOLENT sobbing.
  • I cried today because last night we went to visit my parents and my dad gave me some chicken and gnocchi soup they had ordered from Olive Garden.
    I was so pumped!
I saved it for lunch today, and when I went to eat it I saw he had eaten all the gnocchi out of it. I was looking forward to it and the gnocchi was gone, I couldn’t believe it.
  • Went to a funeral today.  I'm not normally a very weepy person, but I teared up several times.

  • I hadn’t cried yet. But tonight we finished Encanto. 😭😭😭
  • I cried earlier at the end of Dexter: New Blood.

  • @magnolia209 I cried several times during encanto lol, and twice because the music was just so beautiful 😂
  • @magnolia209 I cried at the end of Encanto, and I wasn't even pregnant when I saw it 😂
  • We’ve been watching Encanto in chunks for a while - starting before I knew I was pregnant- because my 3 year old does not like movies. We’re trying to change that because we are so sick of YouTube shows! My son and I finally got to the end with some friends last night. The friends do not know I’m pregnant- so I was trying to hide the tears but it was just so beautiful and moving! I’m going to make my husband rewatch the whole thing with me - without our 3 year old!
  • I wanted grilled cheese
  • I surprisingly haven't been overly emotional so far this pregnancy. I remember this time last pregnancy I would cry at the drop of a hat & was soooo angry!

This time I have only cried twice - once when I found out my daughter was sad at daycare for 2 weeks in a row so I left work & spent half a day with her to fill both our cups. The second time because I live in Western Australia and our Premier has kept us COVID free by keeping a "hard border" which means nobody can come into the state. He told us if we got to 90% vaccination rate of over 12yo that he would open the border on Feb 5th, so my parents & sister booked flights over to come and stay with us for a couple of weeks. Then 2 nights ago he said "actually nah, omicron so no border opening soz" and I sobbed for hours. I miss my parents 😢
  • @knottie13537735d7306a5d you should change your name so people can recognise you easier. The instructions on how to do this are in the ***Read First*** thread.
  • I usually do not cry over much. I wanted chocolate cake and by the time my husband got home with it i was feeling nauseous and didn't want it. I was sobbing because I felt bad that he got it for me.

Also broke down this morning because I accidently set my alarm for 6pm and not am. I woke up in time and wasn't even going to be late but didn't have time to make a breakfast sandwich.....
  • @mamamoomoo12 if you were really looking forward to that breakfast sandwich, I can relate to the tears!

I'm not sentimental about weddings but I was full-on weeping at my friend's bridal gown fitting this weekend. Thank god my mask soaked most of it up. It just really got to me in the moment!
  • I have cried a little over like cute dad videos and the movie Belle and Encanto but I ugly cried bc I missed my mom so bad. We haven’t told our parents we’re pregnant yet and I felt like I was keeping my mom at a distance keeping this a secret from her so long. It’s my first but it will be the 5th grandchild on my side.
  • The tiktok videos of "pandemic babies" that are now toddlers 😭😭😭 I have one pandemic baby now I'll have another. Who would have thought this would be going on this long?
  • Ok Encanto got me again. My husband just rolled his eyes and said I've seen this how many times and I'm still crying?
  • @jhysmath The tears start earlier, but I can’t take it when the whole town shows up to help them.
  • The first time I cried was for that part. I wasn't pregnant. Last night I cried as they (aubela, aubelo and babies) were fleeing their town. All I could think about is how unfair the world is that a mom with 3 new babies had likely done a migration like that only to be turned away at our border while they were fleeing and the courage it must take to leave everything especially when you're husband is murdered. How lucky am I for all of the privileges I have as a white middle class woman living in the US.
  • @jhysmath Yep, was definitely losing it there and also impressed that she was able to hold 3 newborns. I could barely hold my one at the beginning!
  • Finally watching Encanto....am I going to cry?

  • Encanto earned two cries.  One for the river scene with the butterfly song and once when Maribel got her door.

  • @kboydbowman but the real question is, do you love it?

The door for me last time too.
  • It was good.  I'm not much of a cartoon person though.  But I enjoyed it, and I wouldn't mind watching it again.
