    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: finding out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: keyboard key

Upcoming appointments: I was supposed to go last week but had to reschedule. Now my first ultrasound and appt isn’t until 12/20 😫

How are you feeling?: Nauseous almost all the time. Overwhelmed by life since I can’t manage to do much right now

Rants/Raves: Rant - I’m switching OBs bc we are moving. I’ve been on a progesterone supplement in all previous pregnancies and the new dr agreed to prescribe it even though they don’t typically do that. The insurance company won’t cover it without a prior authorization though…and the new dr won’t do anything about it. Sooo hopefully everything goes okay 🤷🏼‍♀️

Questions: Do you all have to eat in the middle of the night? Multiple times? I wake up to pee once or twice and always feel terrible from low blood sugar and have to eat

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? Chocolate chip cookies all day

    ETA my question

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out! Just sent in my Sneak Peek kit today!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: uncooked macaroni

Upcoming appointments: had to change it to 12/21 because of stupid covid. I just want to hear the heartbeat and see him/ her on the ultrasound!!

How are you feeling?: sick because of stupid covid

    Rants/Raves:

    Questions:

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? the sugar cookie with the Hershey kiss in the middle. What are those called?

  • @laeberge3 I sure hope this week goes by fast! I still have 3 days of work next week but I expect it to be quiet!

@melanier26 what a weird thing to require pre-authorization. Progesterone??

@stardustskies feel better! How are your symptoms? Mild I hope? I think the cookie you're talking about is typically called a peanut butter blossom but that's not what my family calls it.

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: July 14 /9w4d

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: team finding out via NIPT!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: we're a tater tot today! 🥔

Upcoming appointments: need my OB to put in an order for progesterone and estrogen checks... Otherwise I've got an IVIG infusion on Wednesday and another ultrasound on Thursday

How are you feeling?: I'm feeling a lot better lately. More energy, less nausea in the morning and evening. I still can't believe I'm this far.

Rants/Raves: I hope this week goes by fast! I'm ready for Christmas time off! DH has agreed to announce at 12 weeks but that's after Christmas 😮‍💨 I'm bummed about that. Ugh.

Questions: just curious what y'all are doing for registeries

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? I'm all about the gingerbread with lemon icing (my mom gave up on all the colored frosting decoration years ago) and peanut butter kiss cookies!

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Green and it is *killing* DH. I wanted to be team green with DD1 But he went around loudly proclaiming that there was no way *I* could hold out and he didn’t wanna deal with me so we’d be finding out. 🙄
Anyway, I told him that this time I do *not* want to know - multiple times - and he actually admitted that he’s the one who can’t stand to wait. 😂 I totally called it but it feels goooooood to hear him say it!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a cherry (sorry I’m too lazy to find a non bump one)

    Upcoming appointments: Jan. 7
we just had one this past week and it went great but funny story...so MIL is a NICU nurse and SIL is an L&D nurse at the hospital where we will be delivering, however we have told NO ONE about being KO. So in this appt I was supposed to see the NP - and there's a new one, so I booked her so I could meet her (I try to see everyone who's new at least once). Yeah...the new NP is one of SIL's bffs. Like I totally saw her name on the list and it never connected. And I even saw her this summer at SIL's and she told me she's an NP now! I asked her not to let it slip to SIL, and we both were like "I mean there's HIPPA, but do your best not to let it slip because we're all human." I'm sure it'll be fine bc everyone in the OB's office knows MIL and SIL and they didn't let the cat out of the bag on the last too, but this hit a little closer. lol

How are you feeling?: Slightly less nauseous, a little more energy but this once daily diarrhea can get lost. I mean, it least its not puke (because I cannot STAND throwing up), but its getting old.

Rants/Raves: see my rave about getting my husband to admit something under the Team green spot. Rant: BIL is getting married over the holidays and FSIL has hit bridezilla mode. Like I know most of us did something bridezilla ish at some point before getting married, but girl needs to calm down, use her words, and be nicer to people - esp our MIL.

Questions: Ok so folks who have successfully done the team green thing before...Did you have any feelings of "let down" or less than excited when baby arrived and you learned the gender? That's the only thing I'm kind of second guessing on going team green. With both of my girls, I was rather surprised - like it almost felt surreal - to learn they were girls, but after a couple hours I was totally on board (rather than 95% on board) with their gender. So I'm hoping it will be the same or better when we wait til birth. What have your experiences been?

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? Oooooh this is a tough one. My aunt used to make alllll the cookies so I've got a wide appreciation for them. A good sugar cake with sprinkles on it and a glass of milk is *muah* chef's kiss! But last year a lady from my first BMB shared a ginger cookie recipe and I'm hooked. But of course, sand tarts, iced sugar cookies and good ol' chocolate chip are pretty delicious too.

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: is anyone else weirded out about how tiny they are and yet they manage to have every organ in there????? I can’t wrap my head around it.

Upcoming appointments: midwife on the 21st, ultrasound on the 23rd!

How are you feeling?: almost human 🤣

    Rants/Raves:
Rant: can I just abandon my nose? Just lose the sense of smell for a bit here? So tired of feeling fine and then almost puking because “bad smell”
I can’t clean my dang house and that’s making it worse. My husband is trying, but he’s sort of disabled and can’t really keep up.
Rave: my mom has decided she can make it work and she is coming out for the birth. I am SO relieved my big boys will have a grandma to take care of them.

Questions: Should I be concerned if I’m still technically losing weight?? I think I’m gonna text my midwife anyways….. but just curious. It’s not a lot. Like a pound a week….. but my stomach is getting bigger!! How can I be losing weight? 😟

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? Oh man…. I love the cookies. I bake the cookies. I don’t think I can pick a fav. They all have their place!!!

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team Finding Out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Lime!

Upcoming appointments: NT scan tomorrow morning and also hopefully getting my blood drawn for NIPT

How are you feeling?: Feeling better! I have been less nauseous and overall have more energy then I've had in weeks

Rants/Raves: DD has been having issues with severely purple and cold hands and feet in the morning (even though the rest of her body is plenty warm at night). She saw rheumatology and they said it seems like a cardiac issue. I made an appointment with cardiology and they've called me twice now trying to get me to cancel the appointment and saying it's not a cardiac issue (without even seeing her). I asked her pediatrician if she could make some calls and get her in with my former cardiologist (I was his patient for nearly 20 years when I was a kid) and she said he remembered me right away and agreed to take on her case. I'm glad I have someone that I know personally, that will care more about helping us get an answer!

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? My dad makes the best soft molasses cookies and italian anise cookies! I have to remind him he's in charge of bringing those on Christmas!

@laeberge3 - It's so hard to focus at work! The week before Christmas should just be an automatic vacation!

@melanier26 - I haven't had to eat in the middle of the night yet, but I do wake up starving sometimes and contemplate going downstairs for a snack!

@stardustskies - Hope you feel better soon! I also love those cookies, but the ones I've had are peanut butter, not sugar cookie!

@inthewoods23 - Gosh now I'm craving tater tots really bad!!! lol We won't have have a registry because we already have everything. But, we should start a thread about product recommendations though! I'll have a huggggge list of things to recommend you register for/buy!

@twentythree19 - No advice on team green because I'm way too much of a planner and have to know ASAP lol

@tuxielove93 - A lot of women lose weight during the first trimester - it's totally normal! With DD, I had only gained 5lbs by the 20 week mark - but it starts packing on fast after that!

  • @twentythree19 I was constipated for a couple of weeks and now am having diarrhea most days. Like you, I’ll take that over throwing up any day but I don’t remember having this in prior pregnancies!
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 10+1 - EDD 7/11

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: finding out - NIPT will be ordered at my appt later this week

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of:Prune  - or for anyone in their adolescent years in the late 90s - the same size as the Heart of the Ocean diamond from Titanic.  My grandma bought me a replica at the time the movie came out and I sort of wish i had it for funsies now

Upcoming appointments: 12/16 to follow up on an SCH.  This will be my 3rd US - Doc will also be ordering NIPT and I hope to clarify the NT scan since we hadn't really talked about it

How are you feeling?: SO SO TIRED especially the past 1-2 weeks.  Nausea at night is starting to improve on a couple nights and still bad some nights.  I did get to stop taking progesterone this week, so I'm excited that I no longer have to wake up a half hour early each morning just to do that since my body will not fall back asleep once it is awake, no matter how tired I am

Rants/Raves: I hate first trimester and how much I feel like garbage and how much I have to hide from the world. I am thankful I am taking a week off of work around Christmas time - I still have a 3 year old to manage but at least I dont have to pretend that my brain is working at work!

Questions: Anyone switch to maternity pants yet? I think the time is coming near - my lower abdomen is definitely starting to grow

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? I make these cookies that i call "short bread surprise" - my mom made them when I was little and i have no idea what her recipe was since she died a long time ago, but I have done what I can remember and essentially it's a shortbread cookie ball with a Hershey's Kiss 'Hugs" inside and drizzle chocolate on top. They are delish and always a family favorite.  They're not super sweet and just melt in your mouth. I hope my pregnant body likes them this year!

@tuxielove93 I feel you on the nose thing! my toddler also still hates to poop in the potty and we have been alternating between weeks of no poop and weeks of a ton of poop and it is not helping my nose situation!

@inthewoods23 we'll probably start a registry after we announce  - so probably in January or so. - last baby I did Target, Amazon, and Buy Buy Baby - with most things being from BBB. Except our BBB where I live now is closing down so I think we'll just do a Target and Amazon registry because I am not about having to drive 30+ miles to return stuff or ship stuff back.  this is our 2nd kiddo so I actually don't anticipate we'll get much from anyone - but I will still do registries to get completion coupons and freebies

@melanier26 RE night time wakings - i'm not waking to pee yet but if my toddler wakes me up at night and I'm up for any length of time i need to eat.  I also need to eat first thing in the AM so i keep chocolate coconut covered almonds by my bed - a little quick sugar and a little fat/protein and it helps
  • @runnergirl2018 As soon as I can get my butt to our storage unit Im switching into the maternity clothes. I exclusively wear leggings, but it did not buy me any time. Idk how or why but they are giving me a camels toe ever since I bumped out 😬😬 and they’re uncomfortable if they go over my stomach, and they’re cutting into me if they are folded. I really thought I’d be ok for awhile but nope.

  • @tuxielove93 my maternity clothes are in our basement - it's my plan for tomorrow when I'm working from home and kiddo is in school to dig them out and see what fits/works! i'm a little bigger starting out this pregnancy, and also my last pregnancy was mostly summer time in FL and now it's winter in Chicago so i'm hoping i have enough to make it work!
  • @runnergirl2018 ugh I feel that. I know I don’t like my maternity clothes 🤣 my style has changed since then, so I’m not gonna be happy. But with Christmas I don’t have the extra cash to go buy new stuff until the new year, so it’ll have to wait and I’ll have to deal lol

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: I want to know. Hubs doesn't.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a wild strawberry

Upcoming appointments: just had an us today and next one is the 21sr

How are you feeling?: Like a nervous wreck

    Rants/Raves/Questions:
Does anyone think it's worth it to do a NIPT?

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? My Grandmaman's Jam Jam's!
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 7/20, 9 weeks

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out, probably at 20 weeks

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a cherry (how is it not bigger? I already have a bump!)

Upcoming appointments: this Friday, FINALLY. Can’t not wait to see the heartbeat and be reassured that everything is fine. I am super nervous now that it’s twins or something though. We CANNOT afford twins.

How are you feeling?: Still nauseous but constantly hungry and tired. Feeling excited for my U/S on Friday since I’m feeling more confident things are good with constant symptoms and my bump growing.

Rants/Raves: I’m going out for a nice dinner and to see the new Britney Spears musical that’s premiering in DC tomorrow with my two best friends and then Friday is our work holiday party. It’s going to be a high in the mid 60’s here (so weird for December) so we will be eating outside for both things so I will feel comfortable COVID-wise as well which is awesome. No rants really today, just trying to make it through 1st tri!

    Questions: none today

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? Mint chocolate chip, ginger molasses, and 7 layer/magic bars are my must haves.

@runnergirl2018 i will definitely be in maternity pants by the new year. I am showing so much earlier than with DD. I have some winter clothes from my last pregnancy but I was hoping to make it to warmer weather without having to dig those out.

@inthewoods23 we did Amazon and Target last time. A couple of friends did Babylist and I liked shopping from that so I may do that this time if I do one at all.

@laeberge3 + 1 for wanting to sit on the couch and watch all of the Christmas movies!

@melanier26 luckily I am a heavy sleeper but I keep crackers by the bed to eat as soon as I wake up because I wake up starving!
  • @creativesoul63 i feel like i started popping out at 9 weeks and its getting obvious now. fingers crossed you hve enough to make it through! are you in the midwest by chance? I'm in the Chicago area and its so warm today and tomorrow! 60 today and i heard 65 tomorrow

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: probably finding out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a chocolate truffle!

Upcoming appointments: 1st ob appointment is next week but I got in at a women's center this afternoon. We have a family Christmas this weekend and really wanted to share but see the babe first

How are you feeling?: On the up and up. Still some nausea but improving

Rants/Raves: excited and nervous for this afternoon!

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? Homemade sugar cookies with frosting and fudge

@laeberge3 yes to all the Christmas movies!

@melanier26 hope insurance doesn't give you any issursy, that's frustrating!

@stardustskies hope you are feeling better!

@inthewoods23 will probably do target or Amazon just to get a completion discount. Both my boys were winter babes so might need to update some things. My SIL did babylist which is nice because you can add from any website but I'm not sure if you can get discount then

@feather_heather glad you were able to get DD in, I hope everything goes smoothly and you get it figured out!

@runnergirl2018 I think I'll be pulling out my maternity pants soon, too! (And due date buddy!)

@creativesoul63 enjoy your weekend, sounds like fun!
  • @laeberge3 I love that you have an understanding OB. That makes such a huge difference.

@melanier26 I hate insurance crap soooo much! What do you normally need progesterone for? If it makes you feel any better, my RE just took me off of my progesterone and I’m only 7w5d (we did an IUI, so the progesterone was just for support). I got nervous about coming off of it so early but after doing a little research, I feel much better.

@stardustskies I’m so sorry you have covid. I hope you stay mild. I hate that it caused you to have to reschedule your appointment. But 12/21 will be here before you know it!

@inthewoods23 Oh man! Could you just announce to close family at Christmas time? It could still be special that way? For registries we did 3 different ones, Buy buy baby, Target, and Amazon. You should get a gift basket from each of them. Plus they give you completion discount codes at the end, so whatever is left on your registry, presumably after your showers, you should be able to get a discount on. This could definitely be a good topic for product spotlight, if it’s not already on there (I can’t keep track).

@twentythree19 Oh wow, that is a close one with the NP being your SILs friend. Hopefully they won’t spill the beans. Good luck on staying team green! I would love to be able to do that… but I’m impatient AF lol.

@tuxielove93 I would probably reach out to your midwife at this point if you’re still losing weight. I think I remember you saying you’re pretty small to begin with. Losing weight in the first trimester isn’t that uncommon but losing too much weight could be concerning. Better to just check in with them.

@feather_heather Dang! NIPT and NT scan already!? I can’t believe the cardiologists wanted to cancel your DD’s appointment without even seeing her!? What?! I don’t get it. Seems super sketchy. I’m glad you’re getting in to see someone you trust at the end of the day.

@runnergirl2018 The heart of the ocean diamond seems so big! I can’t believe how far along we’re all getting! I’ve definitely started wearing maternity pants already lol. I know mine is 100% just holiday weight/pregnancy bloat, but it’s more comfortable to just accept it than to try to squeeze into my normal jeans lol.

@peppylilfoxy I definitely think the NIPT is worth it. Check out our thread about it. There have been a lot of helpful conversations over there.

@creativesoul63 I can’t imagine twins. I asked during my ultrasound yesterday if there was only one lol (we did an IUI and triggered with 2 mature follicles, so it was possible that both implanted). Nope, just the one. Anyways, I know it seems daunting right now, but I’m confident you guys will figure it out!

@sjb2215 Yay for getting in this afternoon. I’ve never heard of a women’s center. What is that?

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: July 29th, 7w5d

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a Berlingot candy

Upcoming appointments: We had an ultrasound yesterday to confirm viability and get discharged from the RE. Next appointment with the OB will be Jan 11th. We’ll have to wait till then to get the NT scan and NIPT ordered.

How are you feeling?: I’ve been sick with a cold for the past 4-5 days. I’m finally starting to feel better but I still have a dry cough that keeps me up at night. I swear I didn’t get any sleep last night.

Rants/Raves: Seeing our LO yesterday brought me over the moon! It’s such a relief, especially since I wasn’t having much symptoms at all. If I didn’t know I was pregnant, then I wouldn’t have thought that my slight nausea or tiredness was anything at all.

We got discharged from the RE yesterday and they instructed me to stop taking the progesterone. It makes me a little nervous. I’m pretty sure we kept taking it till week 9 last time. But they said they would have had me stop it sooner (like right after my BFP) but since I had some spotting they had me continue it till now. I’m glad to be done with them… but it still makes me nervous!

    Questions: nope

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? Oh my gosh. This is such a hard question to answer. I have such a sweet tooth. They are all so good. One of my many favorites are date balls. Lol, does that make me sound light an old grandma? It’s my grandma’s favorite too.

  • @LJMoon6 I started the pregnancy at 135. So I’ve lost 8% of my body weight at this point. The lowest I’ve hit now is 124.
I did call my midwife and she said she isn’t worried yet, but we definitely want to start see me going up not down. She suggested additions to smoothies (like nut butters or other protein/fat add ins) and as many healthy fats as I can handle. I’m taking that as an excuse for guacamole and chips 🤣

  • @runnergirl2018 nope, I’m in the mid-Atlantic, must be a a big warm front!
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: Updated today! 7/21, 8w6d

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team Finding out! But my husband wants to be surprised. How will I pull this off? 😆

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Popcorn? 🍿

Upcoming appointments: NIPT draw 12/30. Panorama and the full Horizon.🤞

How are you feeling?: Excellent. I saw/heard a strong heartbeat of 160 today! 🥰

Rants/Raves: Still having crazy vivid dreams. Last night, I dreamed a stranger walked into my house because it was listed for sale. (It isn't, it wasn't, and that's not anything related to reality.) Then my house was flooded with people who saw the same listing. I was trying to yell over all the clamoring, and no one could hear, "My house isn't for sale!" So frustrating. 😱

    Questions: None for now.

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? Anything ginger! Ginger crisps and gingerbread are 😋
  • @LJMoon6 it's a community funded women's clinic focusing on pregnancy. I was super impressed. They offer counseling services and additional parenting/pregnancy classes and free ultrasounds. definitely a place I'd love to donate time/money to.

Appointment went great and got to see heartbeat and ultrasound, which was a relief
  • Just now getting a chance to sit down and do this. I’ve been in here and there this week but not spent a bunch of time. It’s crazy before the holidays!

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 9w1d EDD 7/19

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM+

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out hopefully by this weekend!! I sent my sneak peek off yesterday.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A green olive… yum!

Upcoming appointments: 12/21- this is my official intake appointment. TW- Everything I’ve had this far has been because of previous MMC and spotting. As long as everything still looks or sounds good, I’m guessing I’ll move on to appointments on a monthly cadence.

How are you feeling?: Exhausted. Not as nauseous this week and boobs aren’t as sore.

Rants/Raves: We have a double wall oven and it’s been acting up so we bought a new one Thanksgiving weekend. It was supposed to be installed today and it doesn’t fit!! Luckily, my husband thinks he can build the cabinet for it to go in.

    Questions:

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? Hmmm always love chocolate chip but last year I made chocolate cookies with mint chips and they were delicious!

  • @LJMoon6 Prior to getting pregnant with my first I had hormone testing done that continued through conception. I had low progesterone so for every pregnancy since I’ve had it monitored and have been low every time. I usually take it from around 6 weeks until the end of the first trimester. I’m 8w2d today and will be having my first US next week. Hopefully that will put me at ease
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: July 14- 10 weeks 1 day. But measuring 10 weeks 4 days.

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team Pink (we think. We did Sneak Peak a couple weeks back. Confirming by NIPT. We should get the results next week.)

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Tiny Human is the size of a prune.

    Upcoming appointments: December 20

How are you feeling?: Better. Seems like I'm falling asleep at more appropriate times. I made it to 9pm last night! Still experiencing cravings, and tomatoes make me throw up. But I'm not feeling sick all the time.

    Rants/Raves:

    Questions:

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? Hot and Spicy Gingersnap Cookies. These are like gingersnaps but have a bit of cayenne in them. I also add an egg yolk to the recipe to make them soft rather than crunchy.
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days:
    7/29 7+6

    FTM/STM/STM+: 5TM but twins so I’ll have 6 LOs 😳

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out:
we have been team green with all other pregnancies, but with this one being a complete shock, that might be enough of a surprise.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: blueberry until tomorrow

    Upcoming appointments:
repeat ultrasound to check on growth 12/22 then I’ll get a referral of MFM

    How are you feeling?:
nervous! Confirmed babies are Mono-Di, but one is measuring smaller with a slower (though still normal) HR.

    Rants/Raves:
not to be a Scrooge, but I’m ready for the holidays to be over! I feel like I’ve been purchasing gifts for months!

Questions: anyone else have Mono Di pregnancy and do okay?

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? My aunt actually makes the best caramel chocolate brownies at Christmas and they’re my fav!

    BFP #1: 4/2/12 -- DD born 12/15/12. BFP #2: 4/1/14 -- CP. BFP #3: 4/28/14 -- EDD 1/10/15

    Jan 15  NOV siggy challenge:

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: either 9+3 or 8+6 - depending on if we go by LMP or my recent ultrasound

    FTM/STM/STM+:  STM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out - my husband's benefits cover the extensive blood screening so I am very excited to do that soon!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: soda can tab

Upcoming appointments: Dr appt on Monday, had my first ultrasound last night :)

How are you feeling?: Honestly, terrible. I hear that 8/9 weeks is the peak of symptoms and the turning point so I cannot WAIT because I have felt absolutely terrible for awhile now.

Rants/Raves: LAST DAY OF SCHOOL - Xmas holidays start in a couple of hours!!!!! So looking forward to it.

Questions: Anyone else struggling to get Xmas errands and wrapping done because of nausea and fatigue? I am so glad school is out early this year, I have so much to do!

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? I am an actual cookie monster so I don't know how to choose, but I usually make shortbread Toblerone cookies every year that are definitely up there! I haven't had the energy to do them this year, maybe next week!
  • @tsh2021 - oooo hot n spicy ginger snap sound really good. My husband LOVES ginger snaps and I bet he would love these - are you willing to share a recipe?
  • @courtneyqdk I had my ultrasound yesterday and measured at 8w + 5d when based on my LMP I was 9w + 2d, so we aren’t far off from one another. They still kept my due date based on LMP. I had to be induced with DD at 41w + 3d so I’m not holding my breath that this one will come remotely near the due date anyway 😂
  • @courtneyqdk I haven’t wrapped a single present and I’m still not done shopping 🤦🏼‍♀️ Between me feeling nauseous all the time and my kids being sick off and on for the last 2 weeks, I’m not feeling very festive. It bums me out bc it’s usually my favorite time of year
  • @creativesoul63 wow we have too much in common! I also had to be induced with my first at 41 weeks.... my son simply did not want to be born LOL

@tsh2021 thank you! Can't wait to try them :)

@melanier26 yup I feel the exact same way. Last night I promised DH I would stay up and look over gifts, stockings, start wrapping and make a list of any little last minute items we need. I fell asleep while he was putting my son to bed 🤦‍♀️ I'm so lucky I'm a teacher and off this week - going to have to drop my son at my mom's so I can get everything done during the short windows in the day when I am feeling decent! It's so tough - also my fav time of year and this year is just a giant struggle. I am trying to think about how much fun NEXT year will be to cheer myself up about it haha
  • @melanier26 I agree. I love the holidays and being sick and pregnant always bums me out. I’m normally doing a million things and loving it.  I’ve also done this three times now 🤣 I was trying to talk my husband into trying earlier this year but he wasn’t ready.
Anywho. Just try to do what you can! There’s always next year, and the baby being six months at Christmas is super fun!! They can sit up but they can’t really run away so you just put wrapping paper down and they go bananas under the tree

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a tater tot!

Upcoming appointments: Had our first ultrasound a few weeks ago, my first appt with my midwife is Jan 4th.

How are you feeling?: This weekend I have actually been feeling more energetic and less nauseous. But I've also been able to get more exercise than I do during the week and been eating more snacks. So that might have something to do with it. In any case, it has been nice!

Rants/Raves: We shared the big news with my husband's family today, since we had our big Christmas gathering. Everyone was excited. But then I was talking to my MIL and she was like, "Oh, I thought you might be pregnant, cause the last time we saw you, you were eating way more snacks than normal!" Also the fact that I didn't help my husband move furniture that my MIL was giving us (he did have help from my MIL's boyfriend). Ugh. Like wow, that makes me feel super self conscious that you were noticing those things! As I'm trying to not be obvious about symptoms at work! Just wish she had kept that to herself...🙄

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? Ooo that is hard. I like anything with peanut butter and chocolate. 😊
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 7/14 so 10+3 but confirming at next appt

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding Out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: size of q kumquat

Upcoming appointments: Dec 27th - 1st official ultrasound

How are you feeling?: A lot better - less nauseous but still tired. Noticing being more hungry but with some food aversions.

Rants/Raves: My future in-laws are driving me insane. We have been engaged for a year, plan on getting married in August and everyone is freaking out that we should move our wedding back due to us not being able to enjoy our wedding with a 5 week old. If I hear we are selfish for wanting to keep our original wedding date I'm going to explode.

Questions: Anyone else freak out when you feel good for a day? I'm so worried somethings wrong when I'm not feeling miserable.

GTKY: what's your favorite Christmas/holiday cookie? Sugar cookies!
  • @knottie…. I suggest changing your username bc it’s all but impossible to tag you currently!
I have a cousin that got married just a couple of weeks after giving birth. I personally can’t imagine doing that but it’s your decision, no one else’s!

@z@zinnia19 My ILs used to be so annoying about keeping an eye on their DILs to figure out if we were pregnant. Don’t feel like drinking wine one day? Must be pregnant! They have 9 grandchildren now (10 & 11 are on the way) and they’re not bad about it anymore, thankfully.
  • @melanier26 haha oh dear! I hadn't been drinking much at all when we were TTC (and never drank much before that) but my sister in law kept guessing that I was pregnant every time we were at a family event and I had a seltzer in my hand. I think since my MIL and SIL knew we were trying, they just always hoped it was the month! This is the first grandchild on that side of the family so its a big deal! 😆
