GTKY: What is something funny your kid(s) have said or done lately?

Any thoughts about this cycle? Not feeling optimistic, but not for any particular reason.

Rant/Rave? We have passed into the territory where even if this is our month, DD will be 5 before this baby would be born. I don't know why that makes any difference, but passing that possibilty of her still being 4 when the baby would be born is hitting me a little hard. I never thought too much about the age gap between kids when she was younger, but now I wish I thought a little more about what I "hoped for" so we would have started trying sooner. Oh well, nothing to do about it now. 

GTKY: What is something funny your kid(s) have said or done lately? My kid now likes to call me by my first name, which is both amusing and annoying. 😂

@abjm0325 I've thought about the age difference a lot as well. I had always wanted kids close in age and at this point, if this isn't our cycle, then with our break we are going to have at least a 4 year age gap and that stinks.

Rant/Rave? This is the fist year doing Elf on a Shelf and I have been trying to have some fun with it. So far, I am loving it and DS and not too sure about it yet. He keeps getting mad that the Elf is not on the table where he was the first night.

GTKY: What is something funny your kid(s) have said or done lately? DS has been talking so much more since starting school and his newest things is asking "why come?" instead of "how come?" and it's a riot.

@tessiesmom26 Aw, I love the "Why come?" So sweet! I also like that you enjoy doing Elf on the Shelf. We don't do it, but I don't really get the immense hatred of some people toward it. As for the age gap, I think I had no concept before TTC how little control some (or most) people ultimately have over timing and number of children. It has definitely been humbling.

@abjm0325 i know that feeling re ages and i find myself thinking about it way too much, i am one of four girls and we are all really spaced out and it's always been fine, just not what i wanted for myself. i really thought we would be in the 2 under 2 club but covid absolutely made me pause on that.

@tessiesmom26 you go girl for doing the elf, i am vowing not to let one of those things in my house.

Any thoughts about this cycle? good timing, no symptom spotting - throws hands in air and says "who knows?!"

Rant/Rave? we are throwing our daughter a 2nd bday party this weekend since we couldn't do anything due to covid restrictions last year, and i'm pretty excited about it! i'm also excited because my parents are then taking her sat night-tuesday and MH and i are off to NYC.

GTKY: What is something funny your kid(s) have said or done lately? we'll my little parrot of a daughter heard my husband trying to pawn off leftovers on me monday morning, and i said "nah, i don't want it" and she proceeded to run around in circles for 5 min going "don't want it, don't want it, don't want it"

@anniemarie887 Aw, my nephew is a Christmas Eve baby too! So much fun. Have a fabulous time at the party and then in NYC!

Any thoughts about this cycle? It's a long shot and the last cycle before EDDs match my kids (I have one September and one October).

Rant/Rave? I've been MIA for a while because I've had a bereavement that I needed to deal with. It's been a lot and also meant I needed to travel during my FW so timing wasn't great this month. Being with family was much more important though so I'm not too concerned about it. Now I'm just kinda riding into the holidays.

GTKY: What is something funny your kid(s) have said or done lately? My DD was telling me about how she told one of her friends at school yesterday how to put up your middle finger and that that's the "eff word" and you're not supposed to do it. I was like, DUDE! You don't tell your classmates that! I'm the parent of *that* kid. Her older brother gets all this from the older kids at afterschool care and then his sister hears about it. The little one is in kindergarten. My son full-on said "f*ck" this morning when I said I didn't have his tie (school uniform). I was like, excuse me?!? He just said it to himself under his breath but he's 8 and we're here now. Send wine.

@abjm0325 I totally hear you on the age gap. I'll be looking at 6 and 9 which feels insane to me. But I remind myself that the kids will be able to help with their sibling and it will help them learn how to be nurturing humans. They'll be used to it so it won't seem weird to them that there are age gaps. Sending you a hug.

@tessiesmom26 I applaud you for your commitment to the Elf! I could never manage it - I can't even manage an advent calendar 🤣

@Paturkey You are not selling me on my kid getting older with that story.  I'm glad you were able to spend time with your family, but I'm sorry for the reason. Sending hugs.
