1st Trimester

Almost 6 weeks, Spotting

Hi! I’m almost 6 weeks and have been spotting on and off. There is no rhyme or reason to it, sometimes heavier sometimes light but the consistent thing is that is soooo dark. I had a weird rush of red blood and was convinced I MC’d but it stopped and wasn’t more than a few wipes. I’ve had 2 miscarriages prior and am a nervous wreck. My doctor checked my levels 48 hours apart and they’re rising normally and I still have symptoms (nausea, sore boobs, etc). My doctor seemed so unconcerned but I am having some light cramping (with some weird like lighting bolt feeling cramps from time to time). Should I be worried about ectopic? Any positive stories?

  • Also, I have a retroverted uterus which adds even more confusion to all of this. Not sure if it matters or not.

  • @lbolt2020 You need to trust your doctor, or you need to find a new doctor that you do trust.  If they're doing hcg beta draws every 48 hours and it's rising appropriately, and your doctor is unconcerned, then you need to seek out help from a professional (such as a therapist or psychiatrist) if you're still feeling overwhelming and unbearable amounts of stress.  I get that PGAL is a mind-trip, but other than checking the numbers, being proactive about your health, and doings things to keep yourself calm/distracted, there is nothing you can do to keep a PG from becoming a MC if it is headed that way.  It is going to be what it is going to be.

October 2015 - 1st MC.  7-8 weeks along. Suspected molar PG, but luckily just a MMC.

    June 2016 - 2nd MC: 4-5 weeks CP

    September 2016 - 3rd MC: 4-5 weeks CP

RE 1: ALL the testing - 'unexplained'  "Yinz can do IVF or try on your own"

    Feb 2017 - 4th MC: 6 weeks

RE 2: More tests. Still 'unexplained.'  Called fat for an entire hour-long appointment, cried a lot

    Feb 2019 - 5th MC: 6-7 weeks

    IUD - March 2019-March 2023

RE 3:  Repeat all the tests. Hoping to try IVF.

  • I’m 4 weeks + 4 and having mild cramping and spotting as well. Last night was light - dark brown smear on the paper.. but the one a few hours ago was a little heavier with some darker red puddle - not quite a clot, but almost. My cramping is low, in front and spans both sides - so I think that’s a good thing. I had a MC last year so I’m pretty nervous as well.
