How far along are you//EDD: 33w2d / January 15, although the latest sonogram said EDD was 1/10. Who knows.

Size of the baby: At the sonogram today, the estimated weight was 5lbs 2 oz and she's in the 63rd percentile. All the apps say she is as big as a pineapple!

Upcoming appointments: Just had a sonogram today to check on growth, will see the OB at my 34-wk appointment next Tuesday, 12/7.

How are you feeling?: Large and winded all the time. Rolling over in bed is an Olympic sport. Actually, just walking around is a feat. I am starting to feel more lightheaded, too. Pretty much ready for this baby to come out.

Rants/Raves: Rave is that I only have 3 more weeks of work until our Christmas vacation, and then I am working from home exclusively until it's go time. Rant - this baby won't cooperate! This is the 2nd time we tried to get a 3D pic of her, but she was facing my back and her head was near my cervix. No photographs, please. Although the tech pointed out that she can see the baby was practicing breathing, so that's cool!

Questions: For STM+, how accurate was your due date for your first one? I HATE surprises and am a planner by nature so the fact that I "won't know until I know" is driving me nuts. I was kind of hoping to be scheduled for something, if I am being completely honest.

GTKY: do you have any pets? If not, did you have pets growing up? Do you want one eventually? I have 2 cats. I didn't grow up with pets, and my family got my first pet (another cat) when I was 19. My apartment complex charges an extra fee monthly for dogs, so I don't think we will get one. I'd like to get one if we eventually buy a house and have a yard.

  • How far along are you//EDD: 32 weeks

Size of the baby: Napa cabbage

Upcoming appointments: OB appointment on Friday, GD appointment next Monday

How are you feeling?: Feeling pretty good, I think this GD diet is helping. I'm drinking so much water and have been more active and spacing out carbs (significantly lowering sugar). The ironic thing is that I was basically eating a GD diet when I got pregnant but then felt so terrible that I was eating so many carbs to keep the nausea in check. I know following this diet is better for me and should make recovery easier. FFMC: I'm following the diet but I'm not testing through out the day, I just can't get myself to prick my finger 🤦🏻‍♀️

Rave: I have basically 3 more weeks of work and I'm so excited about it. Ready to have a mental break... even though I know physically it's going to be more demanding. Thankfully H will have 2 1/2 months off and my mom will be here to visit and help out. Rant: sleep is getting more uncomfortable and I'm just so so hot.

Questions: what/where do you plan on LO sleeping when they first come come?  do you plan on having LO sleep in your room initially? If so, for how long?

We plan on having LO sleep in the Snoo in our room for the first few weeks/month and then sleep in the Snoo in her room until she transitions to the crib. Really hoping she likes the Snoo 🤞🏻

GTKY: do you have any pets? If not, did you have pets growing up? Do you want one eventually? I didn't really have pets growing up. Now I have two Cockapoos and they are 95% cute, silly, and so snuggly... and 5% trouble makers. We love having them and think we'll always have dogs, they really bring so much love and spunk into the house.

  • @fifilala516 DS came naturally two days early. I hear you on wanting to plan things. Right now we're set to induce 1/17 and as much as I'd like to let things happen naturally I also like having an actual date to go in. It also makes me less worried about my water breaking in an inopportune place. When my water broke last time it was SO messy, like a big balloon popping.
  • @elksamm We have a no frills bassinet and are planning on keeping LO in our room until she outgrows the bassinet.
  • One other question: do you have your going home outfit? What type of an outfit is it? (Onesie, multiple pieces, etc)
  • @fifilala516 I hear you with the walking challenges. I just got back from Costco and was dragging by the time I got to checkout. I have a ton of chores to do today and I'm just so exhausted already. As for my due dates and arrivals with my first two kids, we were pretty close - one was 3 days early, and the other was 2 days early.

@elksamm We have a bassinet that we'll have the baby sleep in next to our bed for awhile, but I have no set plan. With my first two, they were in their cribs in their room by 2 weeks, really because I could not sleep at all with them next to me, they were so loud. I figure when I feel comfortable enough to have her in her room at night, we'll move her. Maybe she'll sleep quieter, who knows? And I'm laughing about the inopportune water breaking thought, because that is CONSTANTLY on my mind. Luckily, my water broke very gradually when I was asleep with my first, and then a big break in the shower with my second. I feel like I need to keep towels in the car with me just in case  :D

    How far along are you//EDD: 34+5/January 5

Size of the baby: butternut squash

Upcoming appointments: checkup with OB on December 7, also getting my tdap that day

How are you feeling?: Ok. Braxton Hicks are kicking my ass. But my foot is basically better now, so that's good.

Rants/Raves: My oldest is turning 5 this weekend and I'm really struggling with it. Five just sounds so old. But I have a ton to do to plan his birthday party, which isn't really a party (thanks, Covid) but more of a family get together. Luckily, he's totally fine with that. He said he wanted the theme to be Christmas (thank God, because I'm decorating for Christmas anyway  :D although I need to get more decorations) and he wants his special dinner to be Loco Moco. He couldn't ask for pizza or something easy. So yeah, our overall party theme is Christmas in Hawaii I guess?

    Questions:  none

GTKY: do you have any pets? If not, did you have pets growing up? Do you want one eventually?  I have two Miniature Schnauzers, and they're pretty old - 14 and 12. I've had them since they were puppies. I'm happy that I had them for a long time before kids, especially during their more active years. We always had dogs growing up - my mom and I are allergic to cats. I think that when these dogs pass, we'll probably wait awhile before getting another dog, at least until my older kids are old enough to help out with them. We'll see.

  • @fifilala516 Our son came about three weeks early. My water broke while watching tv, so you just never know!

How far along are you//EDD: 33wks 1 day EDD Jan 16

Size of the baby: Celery bunch

    Upcoming appointments: Dec 8 checkup

How are you feeling?: Honestly, lots of discomfort and pain. I am so sore just walking around and getting a lot of searing pains downtown (sorry if TMI - I never had this with my first so it’s crazy to me!)

Rants/Raves: Just a lot of pressure really low. I can’t believe I have two months of this to go :/

Questions:  Did anyone else feel so much more pain and discomfort the second or third time around?

GTKY: do you have any pets? If not, did you have pets growing up? Do you want one eventually? We have two mini dachshunds :)

  • @fifilala516 I’ve had to be induced with all 3. I’d love to go into labor naturally but I’m not counting on it at all 😏.

@elksamm baby will be in a halo bassinet next to our bed. This is the nicest bassinet we’ve had. With DS1 he slept in a PNP and hated it, also had a cosleeper. DS2 is a blur but I think he slept in a RNP before we knew better, a crib in our room or coslept. DD slept in a bassinet.
  • @elksamm I have a few outfits picked out. One is a two piece and the others are sleepers.
  • How far along are you//EDD: 34 weeks

Size of the baby: head of cabbage

    Upcoming appointments: Friday

How are you feeling?: thirsty! And my kids gave me their cold so 🤧

Rants: my work is so unprepared for my maternity leave. They need to hire someone to cover my caseload and it’s not looking good.

Rave: my 6 year old got a munchkin role in a high school Wizard of Oz performance and I’m so proud 🤩

Questions: does anyone know their hospital’s policy on if they test positive for Covid?

GTKY: do you have any pets? We have an almost 2 year old flat coated retriever. She has a January bday too!

@fifilala516 I am such a planner too! The not knowing when is something I have been trying to not think about too much. Trying to embrace the go with flow attitude!

@elksamm We are planning on having her sleep in our bedroom in a Halo bassinet. Maybe for 2-3 months. And then transition to a crib in another room. But I am a FTM, so I really have no clue! 🤷🏼‍♀️

@kcf19 My hospital told me I would be isolated in a different part of the hospital but that my husband would be allowed to stay with me. Which was a relief to hear honestly

    @angiemac9 ahhh, I loooove dachshunds!!!

How far along are you//EDD: 32w4d/ Jan 20

Size of the baby: oh I don't even know anymore... bigger everyday? 😄🤷🏼‍♀️

    Upcoming appointments: @34 weeks

How are you feeling?: heartburn is slowly starting again. Pregnancy insomnia has been rough. Plus just being exhausted all the time. I feel like I have energy for like 5 minutes in the morning and then 😩😩😩

Rants/Raves: I only have 2.5 weeks of work left!! I feel like there is still so much to do though and I'm stressing!

Questions:  how are you all dealing with holiday stress while pregnant? I feel so tired and moody. I just don't want to deal with all the holiday mess this year.

GTKY: do you have any pets? If not, did you have pets growing up? Do you want one eventually? No pets currently. Had a dog as a kid. We will probably get a cat at some point since my husband is obsessed with cats 😸

  • @elksamm going home outfit is the same as my son's. It's a zip-up terry-cloth 1 piece. It is mostly white with safari animals on it. We will have her sleep in the pnp in our room for the first couple months. We'll start by transitioning her to the crib for naps before trying it over night. Won't plan on trying crib in nursery until she's sleeping for longer stretches overnight.

@angiemac9 I feel so much more uncomfortable than I did with my son at this point in my pregnancy. I also have more sciatic pain than I did with him, but I think it's because h had already caused issues for it.

@kcf19 if I test positive upon admission, we will have to stay in our room (no walking the hallways) and I will be encouraged to wear a mask the entire time, but they understand if it's not possible throughout all of labor. All hospital staff will be in full PPE and baby will room in with me (no nursery). The scariest possibility is that if I test positive and baby has to go to the NICU, I will not be allowed any contact until she is discharged. Having had a son in the NICU for 18 days, this is absolutely terrifying to think about. My husband will need to wear a mask any time hospital staff are present, but if it's just the 2 of us he can take it off. He only be tested if baby goes to NICU.

Size of the baby: Honeydew Melon

Upcoming appointments: Monday for NST and 36wk check.

How are you feeling?: Ready to be done. So uncomfortable and the sciatica pain is almost unbearable. There are several times a day where it's excruciating to walk because of hip pain.

Rants/Raves: Rant - my son has been sick for a week. Started with a cold last Monday, then Pink eye Wed morning, and today he got sent home from school with a fever. Also found out a kid who sits at his table was out for 2 weeks with Covid. He just started back today. But his district doesn't do contact tracing or grade-level/class notices of exposure. 😬 We're taking him in to be tested tomorrow. And of course we just saw family all weekend.

Rave - after more than 3 weeks of no art (aka, no planning period) at work, they finally got an art sub today!!

    Questions:  none

GTKY: do you have any pets? If not, did you have pets growing up? Do you want one eventually? I have a dog, Marshall. We put down our other dog, Viktor this past July. My baby was my dog, Buckles (a beagle) that I had since I was 16 and that we put down 4 years ago. I had him more than half my life! I always wanted a dog growing up.

  • @angiemac9 I am feeling so much more pain/discomfort with this pregnancy. With DS I didn’t have any BH, only felt slight discomfort while sleeping the last 4 weeks, it was such an easy pregnancy. And definitely no lower pains, this time it feels sore down there already, like how I felt after delivery. She’s also so much lower.

@elksamm We have two going home outfits in different sizes. Different patterns but has some version of “hi, I’m new here” - one is like a star/polka dot pattern shirt/pants with a monogrammed hat and the other is just flowers with a matching hat.
  • Hi! Hopefully it’s ok to jump back in. Life got suuuuuuper overwhelming and I pretty much shut down and didn’t do anything not 100% essential. And suddenly it’s almost December 🤦🏻‍♀️

    How far along are you//EDD: 34+4 / January 7

Size of the baby: Savoy cabbage

    Upcoming appointments: Friday

How are you feeling?: tired af and like my pelvis is about to split open lol

Rants/Raves: umm hi. It’s been a while but I missed the community here. Rave: hubby set up the Christmas tree last night so when I get home with the kids today it’ll be ready! Also took the kids to do drive-through Christmas lights last night and it was awesome. Rant: with life getting way overwhelming I didn’t get maternity pics done. It’s not the end of the world but I’m bummed because this is the last baby and I have never done them. But oh well

    Questions:  nope

GTKY: do you have any pets? If not, did you have pets growing up? Do you want one eventually?  I have a cat and a dog. I also technically have a horse and 6 chickens but they live with my mom. I desperately want a llama or 10 😅

  • @fifilala516 I went 5 days past due with my first (despite my dr being sure he was coming “any day now” starting at 37ish weeks) second was only a day past due so that’s an improvement haha

@elksamm this baby will sleep in a bassinet in our room until I’m brave enough to figure out a room sharing situation between the three kids. Which I am fully dreading. For a going home outfit I’ve done both a multi piece and a sleeper. Both were cute and idk which route I’m going this time. Probably multi piece though

@angiemac9 the second and third were/are so much rougher for me physically. Like exponentially

@lilyfox I’m using it as an excuse to only do the parts of holiday stuff I actually want to. AKA I’m not shopping for my in laws and if my husband doesn’t handle it that’s his problem 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • @lilyfox I'm doing it all now, lol! We have my son and my parent's gifts done. My ILs are mostly done. Just need to get 1 more thing for my FIL. Everything we have is wrapped and under the tree! My husband was like you know it's not Dec, right?? I told him I just needed it done so I don't have to think about it any more. More so for my son than anyone else. I don't want him to think/feel like he's getting any less of a Christmas because of his baby sister.

Only other thing I'm planning on doing is decorated sugar cookies with my son because that's our tradition (we'll probably do them earlier this year than normal), and our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. (Meat is already in my freezer)

  • @lilyfox Luckily Hanukkah was early this year so I'm all done on that front. I have to get my co-workers gifts (we usually exchange within our department) but I'll probably just do gift cards so I don't have to think about it.
  • @lilyfox I’m not due until later in Jan but was worried about supply chain issues so I’ve been getting after it early. I’m mostly done with Christmas shopping and just want to get the nursery finished so I don’t have to think about it anymore. I want the time off for the holidays to be as relaxing as possible.
  • @MrsJessS Of course it's ok to jump back in! Glad to see you back :) I'm also feeling kinda sad we didn't do maternity pics, and this is also our last and we've never done them before. But then I see candid photos of myself and think, maybe it's ok after all  :D  :s

  • @Lisa3379 I’ve also not done maternity pics and this is definitely our last. I much prefer doing family pics after LO is here. I feel like I mostly just look awkward/exhausted and not a glowing goddess like many ladies lol
  • @Lisa3379 hahahaha that’s fair. My candids are not cute at all 😬 I do some photography on the side and want to specialize in maternity so it just feels so strange to not have done any…but I am thinking about doing some for myself and hoping for the best

Huge RANT. My husband just tested positive for Covid. 😥😬 Our son has been sick since last Monday and was diagnosed with Pink eye on Wed. Yesterday he got sent home with a fever and we also learned that a classmate who sits next to my son, just came back to school after being in quarantine for 2 weeks after testing positive. His district doesn't do any contact tracing or exposure notices, so we had no idea. We're waiting for my son's results to come back should have them tomorrow morning. I took an OTC rapid test from Walgreens and mine was negative.

I NEED this baby to stay put another 2 weeks. I cannot have her without my husband. I had a full on breakdown with my parents when I told them tonight. I haven't talked to much about it with my husband because I know it tears him apart to think that he could potentially have to miss his daughter being born.

I need all the good vibes that his symptoms stay minimal. That my son is negative and that I stay negative. That our little girl keeps cooking!

  • @magdalina.h oh no!!!! Sending all
the stay put vibes for baby! Also I would be big mad that the school isn’t more proactive but idk what the norm is
  • @MrsJessS thanks! I'm livid. But that's Iowa for ya. Our governor didn't earn the nickname "Covid Kim" for no reason. 😬😬

And just last night a neighboring district's school board voted to remove masks. My son's never had one. I'm thankful that the district I work in is more proactive: masks, grade level exposure notices in the elementary buildings (and for all staff who work there), no outside visitors let in. And my school in particular is very conscious about spacing out during lunch. I'm also grateful that I've had my booster, that my husband is fully vaccinated, and so far his symptoms are minimal.

  • @magalina_h oh that’s so awful! I’m in Washington and I think it’s way more restrictive here than most places. Which has been nice.
  • @magalina_h Oh no! Keeping my fingers crossed that you stay negative and baby girl stays put for awhile!
  • @magalina_h Ohhh no!! So awful!! Sending all the good vibes for at least 2 more weeks for your little girl. And for you to stay healthy and husbands symptoms to stay minimal. This is one of my biggest fears too.

@lilyfox It is harder for me to get into the holiday spirit this year when I am more focused on baby coming. I’ve finished shopping, and my immediate family is celebrating a combined Thanksgiving/ Christmas thing this coming weekend and I’m glad to get it done so I can relax and keep nesting and focusing on taking care of myself until delivery.

@elksamm thinking of a bringing one newborn and one 0-3 month onesie for the going home outfit. Nothing too fancy.

How far along are you//EDD: 35w/ Jan 4th

Size of the baby: spaghetti squash? On last week’s ultrasound, he was measuring 6 lb (90%ile) but I know those can be pretty inaccurate.

Upcoming appointments: This Friday- I had been followed in a high risk clinic but transferring to the community practice so I can deliver at the community hospital

How are you feeling?: More exhausted by the day, random shooting pains in the pelvic area

Rants/Raves: Dealing w my in laws being here from India.. I’ll just leave it at that for now

Questions:  Anybody doing anything special to prep for labor? Perineal massage? Eating dates?

GTKY: do you have any pets? If not, did you have pets growing up? Do you want one eventually? We have 2 adorable cats.

  • @rachel0428 I just bought a bunch of red raspberry leaf tea. I also plan to get more intentional with walking more every day and doing some squats daily. Also drinking more water!
  • @magalina_h oh no! I’m so sorry about your H, sending all the good thoughts that you and your son stay negative and little girl continues to stay put until your H is cleared.
  • @magalina_h Oh s**t. I hope he has minimal symptoms and gets better quick, that you and your son stay well, and that baby girl stays in there until you're ready for her!
  • @magalina_h that's so shitty. I'm sorry about your husband, but glad his symptoms are minimal #getvaccinated.
Fingers crossed your son is negative as well, and that baby stays on the inside for several more weeks.

How far along are you//EDD: 32+3

Size of the baby: honestly, I don't even look anymore.

Upcoming appointments: biophysical profile US this am to check his size and amniotic fluid (inwas induced with my first due to severely low levels), and OB tmrw.

How are you feeling?: better than I was before. BH have reduced a bit, and the low back pain I had over the weekend is gone now. I did some rehab exercises on Monday and they seemed to do the trick.

Rants/Raves: nothing really. I looked at my work schedule yesterday and realized i only have 5 (intended and tentative) working weeks left until I go off and hopefully this baby comes out. I'd be good with birth anytime in january

    Questions:  nothing at the moment.

GTKY: do you have any pets? If not, did you have pets growing up? Do you want one eventually?

We currently have one dog named Rosie who is around 6 years old. We got her from the human society 5 years ago, and she's been such a good dog.

    Questions:  NATM

GTKY: do you have any pets? If not, did you have pets growing up? Do you want one eventually?

1 dog and four cats; I had only two cats but in May my husband and son found two kittens outside.  My husband being the animal lover he is convinced me to let him keep them.  I guess it could be worse he was trying to keep the opossum he caught under the house.

@fifilala516 my due date was not accurate at all.  Due date 4/26/12, Born 5/3/12.  I didn't like not knowing either and each day that went past I would get more and more depressed that it wasn't happening.  My water never broke with my first they had to break mine for me.

@elksamm Yes the baby will be sleeping in my room.  I found it to be easier and it made me feel better.  My son slept in my room for six months before I put him in his own room.

@angiemac9 I actually feel less pain this time around, but way more tired.  Like extremely tired.

@rachel0428 Not going to do any special preparation besides trying to get as much rest and enjoy the silence before baby boy gets here.

  • @magalina_h sending you all the good, healthy vibes! 💛💛💛
  • magalina_h sorry to hear about your husband.  I hope everything works out.  My sister just tested positive for COVID on Monday.  She can't taste, smell, and is having trouble breathing.  Thankfully she lives a few states away so I will be okay, but I'm worried about her.  I'll keep you guys in my thoughts.  Sending all the positive vibes your way.
  • Thanks everyone for the well wishes. My husband went and got an "official" test, and as expected, it was positive too. I'm still waiting for my son's results. I need to ask my OB what the protocols will be if I go into labor and how long my husband would be excluded from the hospital. As well as if and when I'd need to retest myself. Cue more anxiety and nerves. And doubly praying that I stay negative/no NICU for this babe. This is like my worst fears being realized.

If my son is also positive, I'm contemplating getting a hotel to fully isolate from them.

  • @magalina_h, oh I am SO sorry to hear this news about your husband and your son. I’m hoping for you all to remain healthy (I mean considering your husbands symptoms at this point in time). Your idea to isolate in a hotel for a while if your son tests positive is a good idea, esp considering you were already concerned about what would happen if you’re positive and go into labor. Control what you can, prepare what you can. You’re doing what’s best for you and your family. Keep that baby girl growing inside for four more weeks!
  • How far along are you//EDD: 33w5d

Size of the baby: Celery? Which does not seem very accurate for my over 4 lbs baby already 😂

Upcoming appointments: I just had a quick US today to check on the kidneys, next one is next week both an appointment & US (All the US’s are because of the kidney issue)

How are you feeling?: Im overwhelmed, im stressed, im tired. I think I over did It a couple days ago doing things around the house because I woke up with severe belly & back pains. He was moving around just fine, & I had no bleeding or abnormal discharge so I think I was just standing & moving around too much & my body basically said nah, don’t do that again😂 I was scared as heck, but I have an overthinking problem, so I waited It out since I had my US today. They said he looks great!

Rants/Raves: Starting to feel as exhausted as I did in the first trimester! I also noticed a couple purple/red stretch marks under the belly! I thought I was doing so good with my oils & lotions!! Thankfully the rest are just small & white (for now)

Questions:  Has anyone noticed a slight decrease in movement now that we are heading to the end? I know he’s fine because like I said I had an US today, but i’ve noticed the past week-ish it’s not as much? I can get him to move if I want him to, but i don’t know it’s weird?!

GTKY: do you have any pets? If not, did you have pets growing up? Do you want one eventually?

I do! I have an australian shepard mix named Fiona & she is the best dang thing to ever happen to me♥️

  • @fifilala516 we did IVF and so know the exact timing of fertilization.  Our first came 3 weeks early, no known "reason". My water broke naturally and surprisingly one morning.  I'm also super nervous and wish i had a schedule, especially now that we have a toddler that has to be taken care of when I go into labor.

@elksamm good for you for following the diet! and i'm glad it's working.  We'll have the LO in our room in a PNP bassinet.  The last time it was 5 months, but that's because the nursery was upstairs.  This time the nursery is next to our room so i'm guessing we'll move him earlier. we have two going home outfits one newborn and the next size-both onsies + hat.

@lilyfox I'm setting super low expectations for the holidays.

@angiemac9 I'm much more uncomfortable this time (2nd). Baby seems lower and I think I feel more everything.

@magalina_h I'm so sorry to hear about your husband and son. That's a really hard situation.
