Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: coconut (but next week it’s grapefruit which I think of as smaller than a coconut so…🤷♀️)
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink
Upcoming Appointments: Nov 22 for 24w check up, excited because the OB I had for my son will be back from maternity leave
How are you feeling?: pretty good, definitely feeling pregnant. Need to work on better hydration because I think dehydration is to blame for these Braxton Hicks
Rants/Raves: it’s a short week for me so that’s lovely! I love a 4 day weekend.
Questions: natm
GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? I received a puppy for my 4th birthday. I named her Susannah and called her Susie. She was a mutt from the pound and she was perfect in every way. I loved her to bits!
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Size of a hedgehog
FTM/STM/TTM+: Complicated
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink!
Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday at regular OB
How are you feeling?: Been an emotional mess still, but viability is only 9 days away so I’m trying to focus on that.
Rants/Raves: Friday afternoon I decided I’d been cooped up a lot and wanted to run errands with the hubby which meant we had to bring DS. DS got very car sick and of course it was the one time I didn’t bring him a spare outfit. I felt so bad for him and so guilty for wanting to go out. Our first stop became Target to get the poor thing a fresh dry sleeper. He seemed fine after, at least.
Questions: Nope.
GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? It was called ‘Princess for a Day’ doll that my grandmother got me. I remember she told me a little birdie told her I wanted one, and I was young enough I thought she meant she talked to a bird like Snow White or something. Lol When I got older I realized she meant my cousin, who had her own of the doll, had told my grandmother how much I liked it.
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: an endive? Baby was big at last US and i feel like my own planet, so i don't trust those predictions at this point lol
FTM/STM/TTM+: stm
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: green
Upcoming Appointments: follow up AS on monday to get a better look at the spine!
How are you feeling?: ok, large. Still only feeling sporadic movement (dang anterior placenta) and it has me totally freaked. Looking forward to Monday's US.
Rants/Raves: My parents are coming this week (they live 6 hours away) and my mom is soooooo helpful i can't wait. We don't have any family close by so it's so nice to get that little break when they visit.
Questions: nope
GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? I remember getting my american girl doll (felicity!) and being Soooooo grateful because i knew how expensive they were. I loved that thing.
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Endive - random! No one likes endive week, lets be real.
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: we know now - Pink!
Upcoming Appointments: I think I have OB on Nov 17 - better check that appointment card and get it into my calendar.
How are you feeling?: Good - I was so sick all of last week until yesterday and finally feeling like I am coming out of it. I had a stuffy nose, sore throat etc. My daughter brought it home from daycare and gave it to me!
Rants/Raves: Excited that the anatomy scan went well and that we know we're having another girl. Now we need to work on names! We have a short list but no clear winner yet
GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? A hamster...... Oh god, my son wants one now and I am not thrilled. How times have changed...
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Baby bok choy

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Blue 💙
Upcoming Appointments: 17 for OB and 29th for GP
How are you feeling?: I thought the nausea and vomiting was starting to ease off a bit...but then it came back worse than ever:/ At least I had a day or 2 of not feeling horrible and constantly throwing up. But back to just sick sick sick sick again. My knee is still a disaster too...which doesn't really matter since I throw up every time I move anyways. Argh. Not complaining since I'm so happy that this little guy seems to be hanging in there, just explaining;) Emotionally feeling much more connected now that I can feel him consistently and now that I'm talking about him openly with the girls.
Rants/Raves: I showed DD1 the ultrasound pic and she said "Awwww cutie" and then wanted to show it to everyone. So I think she's getting excited. DD2 doesn't really get that baby is in my tummy but she talks about baby alllll the time and has nick named him "baby milk". Rant is that DD1 is not a fan of the name we chose so insists on calling him Luca. Also ranting that even when I ear basically nothing and throw up all day long I can still gain 3lbs overnight...so my scale is officially in the trash until baby gets here:/
Questions: nope:)
GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? A have a few but I'll go with this one...my brother and I used to wake up in the middle of the night, unwrap our Xmas gifts to see what they were, and the re-wrap them and go back to sleep...and no one ever knew. One year I was so sure I was getting this one doll I really wanted...the gift was the right size and everything...but when we opened them in the middle of the night it wasn't the doll, but a fuzzy pink house coat. I'm glad I opened it ahead of time so my parents couldn't see my disappointment.
@morgantu I hope you start feeling more movement soon ❤
@realhousewife519 My almist 8 year old wants a hampster too...I also had one growing up and loved it...but we have a rabbit already that has his own room and we're still at my parents' house so it's a hard no right now!
@rachelredhead Enjoy the 4-day weekend! @morgantu I love when family comes to visit! That will be so nice for you to catch a break! @realhousewife519 Glad you are feeling better! @Panaceia ugh, so sorry you are feeling so sick, but happy to hear that you and your little guy are doing well.

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Team Blue x2
Upcoming Appointments: Nov 15 with OB, Dec 22 for growth scan with MFM
How are you feeling?: So far, so good!
Rants/Raves: I am finally feeling some movement, and it feels great! I feel little kicks (or punches?) here and there, especially at night. We also put up our Christmas tree this weekend! These next few weekends are going to go by so fast!
Questions: none
GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? I remember receiving my first bike at Christmas when I was about 5 years old! It was way too big for me, so my Mom had to tape on dish sponges so I could reach the pedals!
Can’t do the typical update format. I have been a was since Thursday at my cervical length check. They measured me at only 1.4cm and then did a pelvic exam to see if she could put a cerclage in but said there isn’t enough left to stitch transvaginally so my only hope would be a trans abdominal stitch. Well both her, myself, and my mother we called every doctor we could find that does this. No one will touch me at 20 weeks. So for right now it’s progesterone suppositories and bedrest. I get checked again on Thursday and I’m PRAYING it looks better or at least didn’t get any worse. Only positive thing about it, is that it was closed. I’m at extremely high risk for preterm labor and the goal right now is to get to viability, she said at 23 weeks I’ll get the steroid injections. I don’t even know what to do. I live in constant fear afraid to move, sneeze, cough, go to the bathroom, and simply exist. Sorry for the long rant, needed to get it out to people who don’t expect me to put on a brave face everyday.
@Nik102 I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine what you and your family are going through. Use us as an outlet for whatever you need! I am so hopeful that baby can stay put for a few more weeks so they can get you those steroid shots and get baby here safely. Thinking of you and sending all positive thoughts your way ❤
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: mango. But it was a taco a few days ago and I’ve been loving all things taco so I’m gonna go back to that😂

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: FO
Upcoming Appointments: Anatomy scan and regular appt on Friday! So excited. I feel like I can finally start planning and getting things ready once we know gender (and that everything’s looking good!)
How are you feeling?: my pukey nausea has turned into the heartburn, -feel like you’ve overeaten when you haven’t- uncomfortableness. And I’ve been having horrible sciatica/hip pain the last couple days so I’m gonna get some recommendations from the midwives I work with at work (I don’t personally see them) for a local chiropractor that specializes with pregnant mamas.
Rants/Raves: I’m very meh to anything right now on either spectrum 😂
Questions:
GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? First thing that comes to mind is I remember when I was really young I got this Pooh bear that connected to the computer with a computer game and I was OBSESSED with it.
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: banana…though I don’t put much stock into those estimates. I feel like they’re all over the place.
FTM/STM/TTM+: stm
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: blue!
Upcoming Appointments: Dec 2, which is the same day we close on our new house!
How are you feeling?: still nauseous in the evenings mostly, and now I have a lot of heartburn added in. Yay pregnancy.
Rants/Raves: my body hates being pregnant. I also HATE when people are like “you being sick just means baby is healthy” and “it’s worth having a healthy baby”
Questions: none right now.
GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? Furbee (I’m sure I’m spelling that wrong) and it’s only memorable bc one night when the batteries were running out it turned on and made a bunch of weird sounds in the middle of the night and I thought it was possessed 😂

How are you feeling?: alright
Rants/Raves: my daily life still sucks, but we are normalizing it day by day. When I tell you people shot me daggers this morning when they heard my son crying cause he wanted a banana in target and I had to tell him he couldn’t have one now but with lunch in a few hours 😑 I felt like this evil mom on display, the bananas were right there in the cart and everyone was just staring and to be honest before all this I probably would have thought to myself just give the kid a damn banana
Questions: natm
GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? Oh I got this trunk that my aunt painted my name on and it was full of all these different dress up things! I loved that trunk so much
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: baby supposedly weighs as much as a football today? She’s measuring a couple of weeks ahead though, so who knows at this point?
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink
Upcoming Appointments: Nov 22 OB for 24w check
How are you feeling?: Mostly good! RLP and hip pain are not fun, and I’m so tired of being awake for 2-3 hours in the middle of the night. But I’ve got my energy back, my appetite has returned, and I started feeling solid and regular movement this last weekend (anterior placenta has had me waiting for this!).
Rants/Raves: Yesterday was my birthday, and I felt baby girl moving so so much (probably from all the cookies I ate lol), so big time rave there. My rant would be that my MIL invited herself over to our house yesterday, on my birthday, and spent 3 hours commenting about: how messy things were (I have a 3yo and he had toys out in the living room), how she doesn’t understand why we haven’t yet and aren’t in a rush to create a nursery for our baby (even though we have explained that baby will be in our room for the first year, just like our son was…she hates this btw, can’t understand why we don’t put baby in their own room immediately), the fact that I ate 3 whole cookies while she was there (cookies my mom made me for my birthday, and never mind that my mil brought a pizza over and ate the whole thing by herself)…just to name a few of her complaints. Just how I wanted to spend my birthday, listening to judgey commentary for 3 hours. I genuinely don’t care what she thinks of me, but it’s exhausting to listen to, and for my husband to feel like he needs to defend our decisions.
Questions: natm
GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? The last year I was a true believer in Santa, I got Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein, signed by Santa. I was so blown away, and thought it was the most magical thing ever, that I not only got a book (which I loved), but Santa’s signature! My family all warned me that I couldn’t show it around too much, or the magic of the signature would make the ink disappear. I’m now 41, and I still have that book.
@rachelredhead I hope you enjoy your long weekend!! @faithmovesmountains I am also counting down the days to viability. Hoping the time passes swiftly for you.
@morgantu I also have an anterior placenta, and just started feeling good movement a couple of days ago, I hope yours kicks up soon! Enjoy your visit with your parents! @realhousewife519 congratulations on your girl! @Panaceia sorry to hear your knee and nausea are still so tough. And hopefully your DD will come around on your name choice. Also love the story about you opening gifts in the middle of the night! So sneaky!!
@jennifer_m21 we are putting up our Christmas decorations this upcoming weekend…can’t wait! @Nik102 I’m so sorry to hear that. I’ll be praying for you and your baby.
@nursejenn5 hope your week passes swiftly and your AS is awesome!
@Nik102 im so so sorry for what you are going through. I can’t even imagine. We are here holding space for every emotion you may need to vent. I hope you have a most uneventful few days and that things look better on Thursday ❤️
@nursejenn5 I could have written your “how are you feeling” section word for word. By evening I can get maybe 3-4 bites of dinner down before I feel so uncomfortably full and then heartburn all night long. And my right hip has been terrible lately. Weekly chiropractic care has been helping but these 12 hour shifts are getting so hard. I think i’ve narrowed mine down to an SI joint issue. Thinking pelvic floor PT may end up being more beneficial. I hope you find a provider who can help you!
@appleblossom8317 furbees are indeed possessed 😂 @achanceintime sorry for the mil drama. It is the worst getting unsolicited advice. I don’t think I would’ve been as nice about it all after that long of time 😅

How are you feeling?: good. Hungrier and thirstier than usual, ankles and feet swell throughout the day.
Rants/Raves: I’m tired of the commute and work. My youngest caught HFM from daycare and he looks so bad. My husband is taking care of him while the oldest and I are quarantining away from them lol! I caught HFM from my oldest when he had it years ago and I do not want to catch that ever again- especially while pregnant.

How are you feeling?: Better, lots of heartburn. I was also referred to a physical therapist for sciatica and pelvic floor.
Rants/Raves: Rants:We went to a birthday party the past weekend with my husband’s family and my stomach was touched by his aunt without permission. They don’t understand personal space. Also, my MIL called my daughter a word in Spanish that basically means antisocial. She’s almost two and chooses who to say hi to. If she doesn’t feel comfortable saying hi to someone that’s not a reflection on her but on the person. She says hi to strangers all the time.
Questions: None
GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? I finally convinced my dad to get me a black panther from the rain forest cafe. He said it would ignore and never play with it if he bought it. Well I slept with that black panther every night until my daughter was born.
@Nik102 thinking of you as well. @achanceintime if they can complain they can help clean. I say that but when my MIL comes over i make sure my dishes are clean because otherwise she cleans them.
@rachelredhead I agree! Coconut is TOTALLy bigger than a grapefruit!
@morgantu I'm so excited your mom is helpful, and coming to visit!!
@Nik102 oh my gosh how stressful and nerve-wracking! I hope things look better on Thursday, and little one stays snug in there for many more weeks!

GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? Hmm. My brother gave me the extended edition of Lord of the rings when it came out. It was the first time I ever REALLY wanted something for Christmas. And the fact it came from my brother was extra special. But I was already like... 16 so not sure if that counts haha.
Weirdly, when I think of Christmas gifts from childhood, I most vividly remember a black and white checker cylinder tin that had markers in it. Got it in my stocking. That, and a pair of fuzzy pink socks with little paw print grippies on the bottom.

GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? Definitely my Polly Pocket Dream House. Vividly remember finding that one Christmas morning. Had to be around 7yo.
@night_nurse I’ve been eyeing the Evidence Based Birth class. But I haven’t actually taken it yet myself, I just love that site and hope the class will be as good as the rest of their stuff
How are you feeling?: Feeling more like a functioning human! I left the house for something other than a dr appt this weekend! My body has something to say about the increase in activity, as I am having some early Braxton-hicks-esque sensations, so I am trying to find the balance.
Rants/Raves: Rave: snoogle pregnancy pillow has made sleeping so much more comfortable! Rave 2: I bought a carpet shampooer this week (maybe some nesting kicking in!) and I am obsessed. Hello squeaky clean carpets and area rugs!
Questions: None this week.
GTKY: What is the most memorable gift you received as a child? I remember being VERY excited about a landline phone (with a cord!) for my bedroom. My parents also once surprised me for my birthday in a very memorable way. We had plans to take a small trip as a family to celebrate - they had a very good friend show up the night before we were scheduled to leave and they had secretly arranged for her to go on the trip with us! It was so much fun.
@night_nurse I didn’t take any specific birthing classes outside of my hospital based one and the prep I did with my doula; however, at the recommendation of my midwives I read and used the accompanying audio tracks for Hypnobirthing by Katharine Graves. Per my midwives, her book/approach has the strongest evidence for impacting birth/care. I had a good experience with it and found it helpful overall. I did also listen to a lot of podcast episodes from Evidence Based Birth, Mommy Labor Nurse, and All About Pregnancy and found those to be very educational (and free!).
@jessier19 i have been listening to the EBB podcast. Great stuff. A little disappointed you only get access to the course material for a few months though.
@jenis_fan_for_life thank you for that review. I was considering taking a HypnoBirthing course separately from another birth course with my husband. Im attempting an unmedicated birth in the hospital and want all the tools. Had an epidural with my first. I am listening to EBB now and Birth Hour which shares tons of resources. I will check out the other two. Thanks!
