Has anyone started their registry yet? I feel like I usually started after 20 weeks but we got rid of like ALL our baby gear after DS because we were “done” 🙄. Considering doing it just so I can start stocking up on things like diapers lol
I’m obsessed with all shows about true crime, Forensic Files, ANYthing about serial killers!
My other obsession is def what my husband refers to as “hat shows” - like Downton Abbey, the Crown, Victoria, Bridgerton, etc etc. Any movie or show set in the Edwardian or Victorian British era… “where all the ladies used to wear hats” as my husband would say.
And GBBS/GBBO I have literally watched alllll the seasons multiple times plus the holiday one and the Masterclass series and the Beginnings series. I miss Mary Berry!!
@MrsLaLaBug I started putting a couple things on a private Amazon one.
Question on registries for second+ kids…do you share those with people? Only if they ask? Do you have a shower? We didn’t have one for DD (our 1st) because of covid and I don’t know what’s “normal”
@b_1029 my other pregnancies were well before the Rona, I’m sorry that interfered with yours!!! Amazon registry - with 1st pregnancy, it was listed on our shower invite. With 2nd pregnancy, we pretty much already had everything so I didn’t really have a registry - DD and DS are only 20 months apart. If I would have had a registry or needed one I probably would’ve shared it with people who specifically asked me where we were registered
With 1st - had 2 showers(one was a big family event one was just the girlfriends) With 2nd - didn’t plan on a shower but SIL threw me a “sprinkle” simply for the fact that it was a boy and we had no “boy” things. And it was nice to be gifted a lot of diapers!!! 😂 With this baby - I’m not planning on a shower but I know my friends will want to prob do something small just because they love an excuse to throw a party and bc this baby is SUCH a surprise.
ETA: since you didn’t do one with your DD bc of Rona I’d def go ahead and agree to it if someone wants to throw you one this time!! So many of us have missed out on so many things the past 2 years and it will be nice for your friends and family to gather and celebrate you and baby!!
@MrsLaLaBug makes sense. I’m definitely doing to do the Amazon one for the discount even if no one asks for our registry. We don’t need much baby stuff since DD will be just under 2 when this baby is born, other than random things like another diaper pail and crib. And more gender neutral/boy clothes if this baby is a boy.
@b_1029 I'm eventually going to start one or two just for the completion discounts lol. Don't plan on sharing them, we have so much stuff from DD, we just need things like more towels, new bottle nipples, and potentially new clothes (if a boy, or the seasonal items won't work). And the items we do need (new monitor, mattress, big girl bed for DD, furniture for DDs room, highchair) are so expensive I'd never ask people to buy them.
I made registries as soon as I found out, purely for the completion discount. With my second, my company gave me a huge Amazon gift card and I used it on a huge purchase with my completion discount.
As I was pulling into daycare this morning, I had a thought...is there a need for a separate daycare questions thread? Would any FTM (or STM+) benefit from it? It's about that time to start looking if you haven't done so already (for those in the US, given our other conversation on short mat leaves)
Re: shows -- I've basically spent the last 5 days on the couch since I have the flu so currently binging Virgin River, having caught up on GBBO. My cousin told me to watch Ted Lasso, and it looks amazing, but I'm annoyed I'd need to sign up for yet another subscription to watch it.
Re: registries -- I need to go through what we have, but I can't imagine there's much that we really need (other than "boy" clothes if this one's a boy). I'll probably create a small one because I think work will ask for it, but otherwise won't share it unless prompted.
@MrsLaLaBug Thank you! I'm so mad that I forgot to ask my OB about the flu shot at my October appointment. Was going to bring it up at my appointment next week. Sigh. I think I'm on the back side of it, so starting to feel marginally better--and kudos to DH for stepping up and doing literally everything for the past 5 days.
I ordered a sneak peek kit yesterday and it’s on the way! I’ll probably get the results while DH is out of town (Sunday - Wednesday) and it’s going to be so hard to not open it till he’s back 😬
We decided to not do NIPT since it was so absurdly expensive last time. I will just be slightly stressed until our anatomy scan in January.
Whelp, one day below 60F and I've found that my peacoat barely buttons, and I'm still freezing. Guess that answers my question on whether I'm going to spend $$$ on a maternity coat 😂🥶 why can't I run hot like everyone else???
@pajamstagrams I usually run hot but I’ve been so freaking cold for the past week or so now that it’s like 50 here during the day and 30 in the morning. I’ll be joining you and have no idea where to start!
@b_1029 check out the maternity clothes thread, I think people gave some good ideas when I asked previously. I might try old navy, or maybe treat myself to a nice peacoat. In the meantime, maybe I'll steal DH's, might buy me an extra week or two if I'm really lucky 😂
Update on my coat situation! My knee length coats both still fit 😂 There's a chance I can sneak through the winter season after all! Might be overkill on the milder days but oh well.
But I totally would have bought the Seraphine wrap wool coats that are currently sold out, but were on sale for $180 ish, because you could probably get away wearing those non pregnant as well.
@mrslabug I think I’ll venture down to the basement to go through the bins and at least identify where stuff is. We moved last summer so I have no clue what’s what….. I might do my mantle if I can find the stuff!

@Bababatty i made a “wish list” at target and Amazon for a few items i know I’ll need (a second hatch, new bedside sleeper since my first one i hated, and some boy basics. I think I’ll convert it to a registry soon and then just share it if people ask if i have one/need anything
@MrsLaLaBug Greys Anatomy for the millionth time. 🤣. Halloween stuff went in the attic today. DH is trying to make me wait till thanksgiving for the Christmas decorations but he can’t do much about it come Monday while he’s at work and I start setting them out now can he? 🙃🧑🏼🎄

Right now I'm watching Married at First Sight to take a break from the intense shows and I love myself some trashy reality TV!

I have started a registry on Amazon since my older 3 are 12, 9 1/2, and 8. We got rid of everything except a few keepsake outfits.
