Silent Reflux & Nexium

Does anyone have experience with Nexium?

My LO is eight weeks and was diagnosed with silent reflux last week. He was constantly stuffy and had a cough that sounded like he was clearing his throat. He’d also arch his back and scream during feedings. Only slept if you held him. I didn’t think of reflux because he wasn’t vomiting (just crazy juicy burps and gas!)

Pediatrician prescribed him 5mg of Nexium once a day. But I’m a worry wart and read in the pamphlet that it shouldn’t be used in infants for more than six weeks. However, she said it could be used until he’s up to nine months if it works for him.

I’m almost EBF and he has gained a pound a week (little porker!) so no problems with weight gain. He seems less stuffy and has stopped gagging as much… I just hate the idea of putting him on this long term.
