Daycare issues

My 21 month old just started daycare 1 week ago. Today when we went to pick her up at 5pm she had a huge red bruise on her nose and going all the way up the bridge of her nose. I asked the “teacher” about it and she said she tripped and fell. This is the worst bruise my daughter has ever had and she has tripped and fell plenty without ending up with such a huge mark on her. This is our first child so my wife and I don’t want to overreact. But we really feel the daycare should have at least called us to let us know what happened instead of us finding out as we pick her up and then having to process the whole thing at the end of the day. Any advice?
