November Symptoms

How are we feeling? Anything new happening?

For me, Braxton Hicks have been crazy. I've also been freaking out that I'll have an early labor because my stomach has been pretty iffy for the past week, and that's how it was for my previous two pregnancies - my stomach was totally messed up for a few days, and then a few days later I was in labor. It's probably just a coincidence, but ugh.

Re: November Symptoms

  • Current symptoms are mild aches & pains all over, crappy sleep and feeling so so large (I seriously cannot believe I’m going to continue growing for 11 more weeks!)
  • Loading the player...
  • +1 for feeling large. Seriously, sometimes my belly aches so much it hurts to just walk. And turning over in bed/getting up? Forget it.

Also, the acid reflux is something else. I'm sure my diet isn't helping but YEESH. I'll be surprised if this baby doesn't have a lot of hair!!
  • Add me to the team of feeling huge. I have a constant feeling of fullness. I'm also starting to get more belly pain, especially when walking for extended periods of time, and indigestion - feeling like I need to burp, but not being able to. Ugh.

And she is pushing/kicking really low against my right hip, and it hurts so much now.

  • I feel you gals on the feeling big 😅. I’m just so tired(but get insomnia every other night), achey, and ALWAYS OUT OF BREATH. Also I’m getting that pain where it feels like your pelvic bone is splitting in half. I never had that with my other two girls, it’s pretty painful. 😬 Only a few more months friends, we can do it 😉!
  • Yes to all of this! More shortness of breath and some abdominal discomfort w walking/ longer activity. Reflux and burping is still all the time. I found out this week that baby is breech, although I know it’s still very early and he’ll likely drop so hoping that happens soon!
  • Yes to the feeling big. I feel HUGE. Heartburn. Pelvoc pain from SPD. Tmi but constipation is the worst. Amd im tired. All the time. Exhausted.
  • Okay, low key happy everyone else is having those stomach aches & pains because now I don’t feel like something is wrong lol. My back hurts a lot, & I have belly pains (no bleeding just an abundance of other fluids🙃). I definitely have braxton hicks too, that’s not very comfortable lol.
  • I just realized I’ve been getting Braxton Hicks for months, I didn’t know what they were because I didn’t have them with DS. I thought LO was just moving in a way that stretched my uterus to make it feel tight, juuust put two and two together 🤦🏻‍♀️🙃
  • Also starting to feel big! I'm still dealing with the heartburn and exhaustion that started last month. Blah
I honestly don't know if I would even recognize if I was experiencing Braxton Hicks. 🤷🏼‍♀️
  • Totally feeling huge, heartburn, tired most of the time, left SI joint is really sore/painful (had months of pain from last delivery.. asked to start PT for it) and emotional... I can't stop crying like every other hour today. I'm just stressed out.. and yesterday baby was kicking my cervix- ouch!
  • The reflux is terrible now and I have to sleep almost sitting up to start the night.  I also feel huge all the sudden and get out of breath with stairs, if I have to try to bend over to pick something up, or need to move in bed.
  • Tmi alert but I had forgotten in previous pregnancies about the swollen lady parts. For two days I couldn't close my legs and it felt like I had a baseball between my legs. Finally after being so uncomfortable last night I could cry I took a hot shower and relaxed on the couch with a ice pack on my crotch. After about 30 minutes the swelling had went down and i felt better.
  • @AshleyGemini24 Oh no! Glad you were able to control that a bit. I'm definitely feeling some swelling but that sounds intense! Pregnancy - so glamorous  :D
  • @claire54321 Feeling pretty much the exact same!
  • Feeling okay overall. 30 weeks tomorrow. Have to pee all the time, constipation is not fun, feeling very full late afternoon and evenings, no matter if I've eaten or not, very tired after lunch and I'm just starting to feel some pressure/cramping in my lower belly.
I'm supposed to be starting Metformin for gestational diabetes but after reading about side effects on a Facebook group, I'm scared. I don't want to be sick! Anyone taken this before? Starting at 32 weeks I have to go to the hospital for NST's twice a week plus extra monthly ultrasounds. I just noticed online that my doctor already assigned dates and times and there are 22 appointments in the next 9 weeks! I am lucky I stay at home because I don't know how you would take that much time off work!
  • @nik012 - ugh! I’m right there with you.  I’m 30 weeks today!  I’ll start weekly monitoring at 32 weeks (bc my umbilical cord is attached weird not the GD) but my GD nurse wants me to come into the office today to discuss starting insulin shots bc my fasting blood sugar is still too high.  I’m fully remote so am hoping to make all the appts work though and still keep working FT.  I plan to stop working after Christmas.  How is your GD management going?  I’ve found a pretty good rhythm by just eating protein bars a few times a day but it’s definitely overwhelming sometimes.  I’ll ask my nurse today about metformin but it hasn’t been mentioned to me at all.
  • @nik012, right there with you on the feeling full in the afternoon no matter how much I’ve have or haven’t eaten.
I take metformin. Have been for over a year now. The most common side effect is diarrhea, which might be welcome considering the constipation at this point. I never had that side effect from taking it, though. I was started at 500mg, then bumped to 1000mg after 4 wks if I remember correctly. The gradual increase probably minimized side effects. I take it once a day when I consume the largest amount of carbs, that’s night for me. If I take it in the morning when I don’t have carbs in my system, I get low blood sugar, shaky, dizzy, seeing spots.
Do you know what dose and how many times per day they are having you take it?
  • @katepattsea Good to hear you haven't had the side effects! I am supposed to take 500 mg at bedtime with food and after a couple weeks if that doesn't seem to help my fasting number then they will up me to 1000 mg.

@karenmarie9 My GD management has been going pretty well with diet except for my fasting numbers. They've been ranging from 95-105 consistently but I have noticed a little increase in the last week which they have told me that the further along you get, the higher numbers will get.
  • Right there with most of yall.. minus reflux.. unfortunately for me nausea seems to be making a comeback.. and I am tired beyond belief. Legit took 6 naps yesterday and baby is also breech but ill be 29 weeks on Monday so still have plenty of time for her to shift
  • @claire54321- same! Feeling huge all of a sudden.
  • @karenmarie9 The other day I bought DH and I Starbucks for our drive home and he accidentally knocked mine and spilled it a little bit and I started sobbing.
  • @karenmarie9 I had a full on emotional breakdown because my husband left hair in the bathtub. 😐 All I wanted was a nice warm bath and those hairs brought me to tears!
  • My reflux is awful.
Sometimes my sides are really sore.
And Braxton hicks have picked up a lot...even if I'm sitting still, which worries me a bit. Its usually worse after having a busy day where I'm on my feet a lot. I have an OB appointment this week coming, so I'll discuss that with her.

  • Totally feel you Sarah on the Braxton Hicks. I might ask too. I feel like he is trying to bust out! Also kicked my cervix a few times. Ouch!
  • @karenmarie9 The hormones and emotional breakdowns have been hitting me more in the last week or two for sure.. I find myself crying and getting easily annoyed w my husband out of nowhere. I’m also processing how different life will be with our newborn.. which is super exciting but also emotional that our current lives with just us and our cats is ending.
  • Just checking in!  My OB sent me to the hospital on Friday night bc I had high blood pressure (146/88 which I didn’t think was that high) and I’d thrown up the night before.  Luckily everything checked out normal and no signs of preeclampsia.  They just did my urine, blood and monitored my bp and baby heart rate for an hour.  Better safe than sorry I guess.  I do feel some reassurance now though bc I’ve been to the labor and delivery section at the hospital so less nerves there.  But holy crap- I definitely had major anxiety actually thinking about the idea of delivering. Something about being naked in the robe freaked me out- and then poor babes heart rate was high for like 15 minutes and he was kicking way more than he usually does so I don’t think he liked being there either.  Or maybe he was saying “not yet Mom!”
  • @karenmarie9 Glad to hear you and baby are ok! I can see how that would be very stressful.
  • @karenmarie9 what an experience! Glad all is ok now 💕
  • @karenmarie9 how stressful! Glad you and baby are fine. I’ve been having a bit of Braxton Hicks and now being diagnosed with GD and being AMA, the chance of preterm labor is higher which I’m trying not to think too much about and let it stress me out.
  • Anyone else excessively hot and sweaty all the time? TMI, I was sweating so much down below I thought my water broke.
  • @fifilala516 for weeks. It’s the worst. I change my undies 2-3 times a day 😄 I was cold yesterday in the car and wanted to use the seat warmer but thought better of it and chose to be cold instead of wet 😆😭
  • @fifilala516 yep, for weeks here too. At night is the worst, when I wake up to pee in the middle of the night I am always so sweaty
  • Not sweaty - but just SO MUCH discharge.  I also have to change my underwear when I get home from work.

Have lots of pressure right now. I can feel baby in my pelvis and have more pressure in my vag. OB confirmed today that head is down and engaged.
