Hi everyone, I had my 20 week ultrasound scan last week and am devastated to find out my baby is having clubbed feet. I am shocked to say the least. They were not able to get all the pictures, so I am scheduled to go for another scan tomorrow (a week after my last scan). This is my first pregnancy and we were so excited to see our baby during this scan and were left shattered. I am so so scared because what if there are other nervous system issues associated with clubbed feet? What do I do? We are going to insist of amniocentesis for testing for other anomalies but I am unsure if I am in the right week to get this done. I am so broken right now, all my excitement has turned into fear and anxiety. We are also going to meet a genetic counselor, hopefully we will get some answers and see how to go about it. Please pray for my baby, I need so much so much strength now to navigate this difficult journey.
@mango_michigan I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully there's nothing else going on with baby. As far as I know, clubbed foot is repairable so that's good! Sending positive vibes your way!!!
@mango_michigan I’m so sorry that you were given bad news at the ultrasound & I hope baby is otherwise completely healthy. I know a girl who was pregnant and her baby was diagnosed with club foot but at another scan they found out the first scan was inaccurate. I’m not saying that’s necessarily the case but I’ve heard misdiagnosis can be common. I hope your next appointment provides some more answers and you’re able to get a better idea of what’s ahead.
@binxybaby and @marionberry19 thank you so much for the love and support. I had my week-later scan today and they did not find anything else wrong with the baby's anatomy. However, the baby has been diagnosed with clubbed feet. We met with genetic counselor right in th morning, have ordered for a few tests. After the ultrasound, got the amniocentesis done. After that had a meeting with the orthopedic surgeon regarding clubbed feet intervention after birth. Met with my OB doc late afternoon, talked everything and was reassured to stay calm till we get all the results back in 10days or so. It is nerve wrecking to say the least, but have been gaining strength knowing that clubbed feet is indeed repairable before my baby can begin walking.
I don't know how you ladies manage to get ultrasounds without accidentally seeing the baby's sex. Maybe it's because I have boys, but those penises are not hard to find! Lol
I had my anatomy scan yesterday and we are having our second bouncing baby boy! This is my second and last pregnancy so I am officially a BOY MOM. May have looked at some t-shirts on Etsy with my new role lol. The ultrasound tech we had was PHENOMENAL. She spent time showing us his ten fingers and toes, kidneys, heart, brain, bladder, etc. Also got to see munchkin pee lol. I'm having a bit of gender disappointment, mostly because I think I'm a bit scared I won't love another boy as much as my first (he's pretty damn perfect) but that's just anxiety...at least I hope so.
Congrats @binxybaby! My first two were boys and I loved it. I'm having some disappointment that this one isn't a third boy because I really want to see them with a brother. My first is a super easy kid, loving, just a gem. Our second is definitely more wild and strong willed but they are so fun together. Your heart will just expand and you'll love them both in their own ways. Yay boy mom!
@binxybaby I agree with previous comment about your heart just expanding. I didn’t think I could love another child as much as my first and it’s true that you heart just expands for them both. My first is your typical first child. Well mannered, calm, rule follower. My second is a girl but she’s the wild one for sure. So curious how the third one will turn out.

Just had my 20 week u/s yesterday. Tech said baby is measuring 18 weeks. Im worried but heartrate was fine and everything was there. Ive had 2 miscarriages in the past, back to back. We will see what the doc says when she check out the pics
@binxybaby@KFrob Congrats, lovely profiles 💕 so lovely to read all these messages on this thread
Also @binxybaby I agree with you, it is a bit hard to miss out the gender if it is a boy, haha! Although I knew from my prenatal screening that we are having a boy, but our 20th week ultrasound just was so cool to have that getting visually confirmed 😁
@alexandranh1984 if the baby looks fine wrt everything else, have faith and hold on to what the doc has to say about it. It might just be that you are at 18th week of pregnancy, and so it might all add up accordingly. Let's hope baby is having a good time growing up❣️
I am cracking up so hard. We have access to all of the photos taken not just the cute ones the printed out and I find this stunning image of her face. No thank you 😂😂
We’re having a boy, due June 7th which is what our daughters due date was in 2019, she was born 2 weeks early though. He seems to already have a little personality chuckin the deuces up 😂
We had a follow up ob appointment because they couldn't see the details of babies heart and spine. They still couldn't. I'm more worried about his amniotic fluid measuring low. My sister is an ob nurse and says that it could be due to weight on my mid section when they did the ultrasound. I really hope that's the case. I'm 24 weeks right now. He needs to cook much longer. These 2 weeks im waiting to be seen by the bigger hospital to check on it more clearly are going to suck. 💔
@mamamarthaof2 I really hope too that's it's the mid section weight. How are you doing? I know it's hard not to stress out, but may be just eat and rest well and talk to people you value the most. All the best for the follow up.
I appreciate it! Actually, I've been doing really good. I let myself have a day of freaking out but I used my anxiety to clean and was better after that. Thank God for nesting energy lol. Tomorrow is the app and hoping all goes well. My mom is going to meet there and husband is staying behind in case something happens and we need to figure out a game plan with our daughter. I really doubt that'll happen, but I'm a planner!
Update! Appointment went well. No worries about fluid. The ob was surprised when I brought it up. 🙈 He said it was normal range. They still couldn't see everything but they almost check marked everything. Baby boy is just stubborn. So I'm going back in 4 weeks but I'm not worried. He just really is comfortable and not budging. Hopefully at 30 weeks he'll be head down and make it easier on the ob tech.
So I had another ultrasound today and I always start by telling her “we’re not finding out!” But I ended up seeing things last pregnancy and figured it out for myself. I thought the same thing happened today and got bummed, but then I Googled (never Google) and it might not be what I saw after all?! Anyway, I guess I just wanted to share before anyone else starts asking Dr. Google. 😆
Update: I finally got to see the specialist. Baby boy is fine, specialist doesn't think I'm quite 26 weeks, maybe 25 and suggests going with the later date from one of my early US, which would put due date at the 23rd. I also found out I have an anterior placenta.
His hand is in the way of his face and nose a bit but I was so happy to look at him today! Growth ultrasound 32 weeks and measuring perfectly at 32 weeks and 2 days 💜💜💜
