Okay…last time we did the big social media announcement and gender post in single post at 16 weeks. 

This time i don’t want to do a social media post and instead i just made a shirt for DD and snapped a few pics and shared it with friends and family.

We also did a big social media / gender reveal post on FB last time. I think I was like 18 weeks or so. I’m not sure what we’ll do social media wise (if anything), but we’re going to tell both sets of parents this weekend while we’re at a pumpkin patch. Not 100% sure how we’re going to do it since it’s supposed to be chilly…but we ordered 2 different big sister t shirts for DD to put her in and see how long it takes to notice 😆 we’ve told a few close friends, but that’s it.

We told our moms right away bother of their reactions were less than stellar. Other family we’ve told have been excited. 

We did an announcement post for our other 2 at 12 weeks so we are going to do that again just to keep it the same. I have mom guilt about any of my kids feeling shafted for the other one I know it’s crazy lol. 

I can’t decide if we are going to have our older 2 each wear a shirt that says BOYS 1, GIRLS 1 and hold a onesie that says Tiebreaker. OR have a onesie that says seriously I’m the last one. I might let’s hubby pick since I can’t decide.

We told our parents, DH’s siblings, and grandmas at the pumpkin patch this weekend. It took a while for people to catch on but everyone was excited. The front of her shirt said “I have a secret”
I have a lot of thoughts on how my mom handled it but I’m trying not to fixate on it 🙃

I had these shirts made and wrapped them for each of them. They opened their shirts and then all opened the onesie. It took them a bit of convincing, but they we excited in the end. Then we sent the video to our parents and my sister. Once they watched the video, we shared these pictures with them. Everyone was shocked (because of the age gap), but excited. I’ve shared these pictures with a few friends in our homeschool group, but we haven’t posted on Facebook or shared with many other people. When “The Plot Twist” was born, I made a photobook for the older 2 about them becoming a big sister and a big brother. I made one for “The Plot Twist” that came a few days after we told them.

So this weekend was our 5th wedding anniversary. We had a bunch of our close friends (mostly those that were in the wedding party) over for a pot luck party this weekend. I had everyone gather around for a photo and then, instead of “say cheese” the photographer said “say Katie’s pregnant!” (While taking a video). Most of them thought it was a joke at first until we said “no, really” and I showed them my “mama to be” shirt that had been hiding under my flannel shirt all day. Then started the excitement. It was a great way to share the news with all of them. 

Now I just need to figure out exactly how to tell my extended family (because I’m really close with all of my cousins and keeping this secret is killing me).

Well we just made our announcement picture… went the easy route, I wanted to order shirts but that didn’t happen lol

My friends helped us out with some announcement pictures this weekend! I plan to post this Sunday after we both tell work this week. 

I think I'm going to go with the first picture even though I don't love how the onesie is crooked. I do like the little pumpkins and the leaves falling, but would love thoughts if it's too hard to read and we should go with picture #2!

We used our fur babies for our announcement. 2 of them wore bandanas that said "soon to be big brother / sister", one wore a sign that said "my humans are getting me a baby", and our tiny dog wore a bandana that said "i thought I was the baby" 😂

we haven’t announced yet, but here’s ours! I had to go ahead and take the pics bc the kids wanted to carve and paint the pumpkins.😂 Thinking we may announce Monday after I have my 2nd U/S.

This is ours: took the photo a while ago, but haven’t posted it yet as I want to tell my employer first, just in case. All close friends and family know already, anyway. This is just for social media. With the caption: Soon to arrive - Shafiq number 5!
