I’ve been trying to get out and walk every day. Yesterday I was too nauseous and today I’m too lazy. So tonight after dinner I told my husband we have to take a walk. I’m a plus size women and I’m trying hard not to gain too much weight this pregnancy.
@conni0205 i hear ya on walking as much as possible. I took PTO on Monday and Tuesday and was a potato both days minus a quick errand. Today i came out and met my friend at Epcot to walk around the world showcase to get those steps in!
@And846 I am jealous that your walks can be around Disney my walks are not nearly as adventurous (or tasty with the food and wine festival going on).
We are going to visit some family this weekend out of state and I am nervous my nausea is going to give it away. I want to wait til at least my appt to tell anyone just to make sure everything is ok.
@and846 funny my mom and sister were eating/drinking around the world at Epcot yesterday! I agree with @addsprinkles521 very jealous of your walking venue.
I've been very bad with my walks @conni0205 but hopefully will pick up again now that the weather is cooling down in the northeast. Fall is my favorite season for being outside!
@and846 ughhh I love the food and wine festival. Jealous! Too bad you can only partake in half 😉
@addsprinkles521 yeah the nausea/food aversions is what tipped off some of my family last time... hopefully you can keep it at bay long enough to wait for your appointment!
@karisahamdi@conni0205 I've also been terrible with my walks. I didn't leave my apartment for all of Monday and Tuesday.... oops. Yesterday I did a lot of walking because I had to go to my OB appointment, but I rewarded myself with Shake Shack.... ;-) And then today I didn't leave my apartment again. Oops. Downside of remote work (and DD still being out of daycare for her broken leg).
Should we start a maternity item/tips/essentials spotlight? Topics could be stuff like sea bands and other tips for nausea, pregnancy pillows, belly support bands, compression socks, and other things you buy while pregnant, but not necessarily maternity clothes (because who considers compression socks to be anything other than a boring necessity lol).
If we think that's unnecessary that's fine too! My feelings won't be hurt 😊
Some other topics I thought of, but would be too early for: daycare/childcare (although I signed up at 10 wks last time and already had a 1.5 yr wait-list for one), car seat, stroller, baby registry general stuff, diaper bags, and hospital bags (definitely not there yet 😂).
My infant car seat just arrived! My old one expired in 2020 so I had taken it to Target for the trade in coupon. I think this new one is going to be a lot less bulky to carry around than what I had before. It won’t work with the stroller I have (different brand) so I’ll probably donate the old one and keep an eye out on marketplace for a cheap one that will work with this.
@happynapper that's awesome you were able to trade in your carseat!
I booked my early scan for Oct. 5, the day before my midwife appt. The receptionist was like "oh you'll only just be 7 weeks then" - so I guess we'll see. I had a positive OPK on August 23, so going by that I'm 7wk3d today. By LMP I'm 8 wks. I mentioned it and she was like "oh yeah, everyone's different" and it felt like she totally brushed me off. Rant over.
@happynapper Nice! Did you end up getting the same one as before or are you changing it up?
@jandawg Sorry the receptionist was so flippant! Even if you were just 7 weeks (which it sounds like is unlikely) you'd still see something on the u/s. I saw baby and heard heartbeat at exactly 6 weeks with my RE (maybe infertility clinics have stronger equipment since they're looking at very early pregnancies, though).
I was walking outside this afternoon to go pick up dog poop (try not to be jealous) and I tripped on the last step and fell and twisted my ankle 🤭☹️ I’ve been icing it for a few hours while watching a movie with DD and DS and only taking Tylenol. I also did the elevation and compression thing. Really curious what it feels like when I wake up tomorrow and if I should get it checked out. What. A. Day.
@Bababatty I got a graco this time. I had a Chicco infant seat before. Everyone who ever picked it up was like omg I’ve never felt one so heavy! It was built like a tank.
I’ve had graco convertible seats for the girls ever since, so I think I’ll be happy with the new baby seat too.
Was able to get myself motivated the last two days and went on a walk with both kids and my husband yesterday. Today I walked on the treadmill for an hour. Trying to make sure I keep it up. I know my OBGYN will be happy I’m doing this and it makes me feel good
