We have a rodent issue in our attic that we've been trying to solve. Last week they sucked out all the insulation and sealed everything up and set traps. They're supposed to come 2x/week to check the traps, and then once we have 2 weeks straight of empty traps they'll reinstall the insulation and consider it solved. They were supposed to come today. I was in the bathroom and the doorbell rang. DD3 ran to the front door because she thought it was my mom, but our door is entirely glass so she saw it was "the workers" and ran back to tell me. I hustled out but saw no one at the door. So I went outside, saw them getting into their truck, and I shouted HELLO? at them, but they pretended they didn't hear me and drove away. Seriously it was 30 seconds. WTF!!!
WTF to the IRS-we upped our contribution to our 401k with the child tax credit payments coming in because accepting them and adjusting something else seemed like the easiest thing-well we didn't get one this month! I looked up in Q&A and it says that if you don't get a payment one month, you probably won't get them anymore, so you'll just be able to claim the full amount on your taxes. Cool...but we made a $500 change to our income assuming the government wouldn't just stop sending them. Our portal even says we're still eligible they just aren't processing payments. WTF?!
@SmashJam ugh the credit has been stressing me out too. I started looking into the process of how to not accept and it was just way too much paperwork, so now we’re just banking them away to pay an even bigger tax bill in April.
My wtf, we have a spider problem and we had an exterminator come two weeks ago. Two days ago my kids found a humongous brown recluse spider outside. We’ve seen a lot, but never one that scary before.

Also, this just reminded me the people on this board who live/work in the US will be doing their taxes just before their due dates 😣 (hopefully not immediately after birth, but that’s possible, too) Not like we’ll be busy or anything. @Ivorytower2 brown recluse! Wtf fleas! My parents came to visit with their cat about a month ago. Unfortunately, we had gotten behind on giving our cat his monthly flea medication.
Yesterday, I discovered flea dirt in my cat’s fur, and then I discovered a living flea on DD2’s scalp… oh, the shame! 😭
Yesterday and today have been full blown decontamination mode. Flea meds to cat, all the humans got a deep shampooing, rinse and repeat, laundering blankets, and vacuuming everything. I’m glad NVP is finally letting up.
@Ivorytower2 ugh brown recluses are yuck! I remember I found one on my bath towel once when I was getting out of the shower. I was living in the Midwest at the time. Always checked the towels after that 😂
@loveanddatadriven eek! At least it seems like you’re on top of it and good thing you are feeling better!! We had a massive infestation when I was in middle or high school that we did NOT catch early
