@and846 I had a total brain fart this morning dropping DD off at daycare...forgot which room she needed to be dropped off in (it was her normal room, just like normal...)  :D

eta: glad your appointment went well!! always nice to get that peace of mind.
  • @And846 such a bittersweet step graduating from the RE. I’m glad to hear everything is going well!

AFM I basically sent my OB an essay over MyChart last week about how I was so anxious and blah blah blah since last time, I was working with an RE and was constantly getting betas etc to reassure me everything was going ok. She agreed to do betas for me so my first was this morning. Keeping everything crossed for Wednesday’s number to look good 🤞🏼 It’s all such a mind F. I’m still testing because I can’t stop, and the line is clearly getting darker. I need to knock it off lol.
  • @And846 Congratulations on graduating! I agree with @b_1029 that it's so bittersweet. With DD I remember asking my RE if he was sure he couldn't also be my OB.  :D You go through such an intense process with them and then, suddenly, it's over and you're off to the big leagues. :-D

@b_1029 I'm glad you OB is doing some betas to keep your mind at ease! FX for good news on Wednesday! How is your daughter feeling? (I'm sure much better, but still, it's always scary to end up in the ER!)

AFM My mom is here helping with DD and her broken leg, which has been a lifesaver. I actually worked an entire day today; a miracle! I didn't feel like I was surreptitiously blowing off my job (since I'm still working remote) and I actually completed a project. I'm trying to avoid stress where possible, so this is a huge relief.
  • @Bababatty thanks for asking, she has seemed back to normal the past couple of days (as normal as Dd gets 😆)! Every time I look at her little hand with a bruise where the IV was, it makes me sad. Doesn’t bother her though.

Is YD in a cast? If so, how long does she have to wear it? I can’t imagine how hard it is for a little kid to have a broken leg when all they want to do is run around!

@b_1029 I'm glad to hear she's feeling better! But oh the IV must have been so hard! Their little arms and veins are soooo tiny. And the parental guilt is so strong, even though obviously it was necessary to make her feel better!

Yeah, DD is in a full-leg cast (it's green, which is awesome; 2nd grade me with my white cast is jealous of this). They said 2-4 weeks (it's a buckle fracture so the bones didn't completely break, although, unfortunately, it did happen to both the tibia and fibula); she goes back to the orthopedist tomorrow (which will be 1.5 weeks) so we'll have a better idea then of how much longer. I thought for sure it would be hard to keep her down, but she's gotten really good at scooting and understands that she can't stand up. Phew!
  • Is it weird that I'm kinda craving Tabasco? We had gumbo last week and I was heavy handed with it, and now I'm eating plain rice + Tabasco as an afternoon snack 😂 I had a weird vinegary flavor "craving" (one of the few things that tasted good) with DD so I wonder if that's repeating itself.
  • @pajamstagrams oh I have been heavy with the hot sauce this past week something about it is just so satisfying!

@b_1029 Congratulations! (And sorry, I tagged you in the weekly check-in asking this exact question before I saw the answer here!)

@pajamstagrams I wasn't craving Tabasco, but that really does sound good.

ETA Someone alluded to this in the discussion in the Read This First! but is TB a lot less active than it was a couple of years ago? I noticed it on the IF boards when I came back on this summer, but figured maybe a lot of people just weren't doing IF treatments because of COVID. But it seems like the BMBs are slower, too--which is actually fine by me because I prefer smaller groups.
  • @Bababatty yes, i think the BMBs are a little slower now and don’t have as many members as years past. I’m also totally okay with it since i kind of got lost in the shuffle some weeks on my last one
  • It feels different to me too. Both the pace and the vibe. But I haven't been here since 2018. I like it though. My old bmb was overwhelming.

  • I have a feeling that if the board keeps with the lower members and engagement we will be able to get to know each other better and have better overall participation.
  • Curiosity got the best of me and i went back to my old bmb to look and the google doc someone made of our names and info…218 people 😳
  • @And846 218!! Holy moly. I don’t remember how many my July 20 bmb started with, but a group of about 30 of us moved to the PG/FB. We definitely didn’t start with that many though 😱
  • @b_1029 there were maybe 50 good participants towards the due date and 31 went to FB private group. I was pretty active that first year with them but have been terrible the last 18 months TTC. Now it would just be awkward to swoop back in 🤷🏼‍♀️
  • @And846 I for sure got lost in the July 18 BMB there were so many people in there I didn’t even know there was a fb group lol. I definitely like that this group is smaller easier to get to know each other.

  • @Bababatty you're not wrong, TB is waaay less active than it used to be, and those who do join BMBs are mostly STM+ who used it with their previous kiddos. I know earlier this year the community page was hard to get to from the app/website. At least now, in the last couple months, the app updated and the community page isn't buried anymore.

But I think the most disappointing thing about how TB has changed was the removal of "real answers". God, that was incredibly entertaining to read 😂
  • @And846 200+ people?! I don't remember how many were on my BMB but it was definitely less than that. I want to say maybe 20-30 people moved to a private group (our public board had some drama halfway through) and then that group had more drama and split into two private FB groups of like 15 people each (I was in both but dropped one because that's just too much). I definitely got lost in the public group so I was really happy when they brought me with them to the smaller private group. Way easier to manage and keep up with people! I appreciate that about this group so far, too!

@pajamstagrams I wondered why I couldn't find the community page link on the app a few months ago! Even with the update it consistently signs me out and I'm too lazy to sign myself back in. TB on my computer it is! I never read "Real Answers" last time around and now I'm disappointed because from your post it sounds like it was good times. ;-)

  • There are about 20 of us still active in my December 19 mom's private group and I have so loved the support and friendship.
