Re: Weekly Check-In w/o 9/6

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Apr 13, 8+6

Upcoming Appointments: None until October when my new insurance kicks in

How are you feeling?: Nausea has improved since I’ve started Unisom and B6, but I’m still soooo fatigued. Going back to work next week is going to be tough!

Rants/Raves: My mom is starting to get more excited about this pregnancy, which is great. I think she was really shocked when we told her (since we’d been saying we were one and done for several years before changing our minds) but she’s excited now 😊

Upcoming Appointments: first appointment and ultrasound is today! Hoping they will still do nipt even though I'm not 9 weeks til tomorrow.

How are you feeling?: Better than the past couple weeks, still tired.

Rants/Raves: Ugh, stepped on the scale and to my dismay, I've already gained 7lbs! 😑

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: April 17, 8w2d

Upcoming Appointments: Monday 13th first u/s

How are you feeling?: nausea haunts me day and night. I am always hungry, had a bagel at 3am last night. Insomnia every day…so fatigued beyond belief.

Rants/Raves: My regular doctor is now not available to see patients, so annoyed. I plan on seeing someone else, who is new to the practice, and see if we click. Otherwise, I may have to switch practices.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: April 9/ 9 weeks + 3 days

    FTM/STM/TTM+: First time!

Upcoming Appointments: First ultrasound is tomorrow! I’m so excited and nervous!!! 😬

How are you feeling?: Mild nausea remaining, including food aversions to most meats and veggies. I’ve been able to tolerate eating 3 meals a day now though with some snacking in between, including foods like eggs and sweet potato hash that I couldn’t stomach before. Still can’t even think of chicken without 🤢.

Rants/Raves: Am I crazy or has anyone else started their baby registry? 🤪 Don’t want to jinx anything but we have both of our birthdays and Christmas before baby arrives so having our registry set up early seems practical and plus I’m a huge planner and love getting a head start!!

Questions: Just starting today I’ve started experiencing more cramps. This morning it started with a sharp shooting pain in my abdomen that worried me— not sure if this is round ligament pain or something I should be more concerned about? Either way I’ll have the US tomorrow yo check and make sure everything is okay!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: April 4: 10 + 1

Upcoming Appointments: well I was supposed to have an OB appt on Thursday, but they mixed up the dates and I got annoyed because their front desk is a mess and I fired my OB. I have a midwife appt now in 2 weeks

How are you feeling?: annoyed but ultimately ok. I was going to move to the midwife anyway, but I was hoping to be seen sooner

    Rants/Raves: see above

  • @minnie_yoga_mama not crazy at all! I started my registry with my first on first tri and it gave me SO MUCH TIME to research what was actually worth it vs baby stuff they sell you because you think you need it vs what babies actually like etc…. I really felt like my registry was well honed by 7 months and I regret almost nothing from my registry as opposed to a lot of FTM who end up not using/liking half of what they get

@minnie_yoga_mama I don't know about everyone else, but I haven't even thought about a registry yet. I think you have plenty of time.

@queenklau bagels have been my go-to food for the last few days. sorry you have to switch practices, I hope you find someone you like.

@monstera13 glad to hear you're getting a bit of relief

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: April 3: 10 + 2

Upcoming Appointments: Next OB appt is at the end of the month

How are you feeling?: constant headaches and now dizziness when i stand. also always hungry, but still dealing with some food aversions. so good times.

Rants/Raves: eta: I do have a rave: last PIO shot was saturday. so happy to be done with the injections!

Questions: Anyone experience low blood pressure in pregnancy? my bp at my first ob visit was pretty low I assuming this is why i'm getting dizzy.

some doors are open, some roads are blocked"

  • @Avrilmai I have low BP that waxes and wanes. I have an at home digital cuff my previous OB office gave me. How shitty I feel definitely correlates to my BP. Fun science experiments in this house.

I’m dehydrated, which might not be the cause in your case. +1 to headaches, dizziness
  • @Avrilmai ugh, low BP is so annoying!  I've had it on and off my whole life, but it always gets real bad in early pregnancy, then gets better towards the end, but plumets during delivery. If I remember right it was obnoxious, but didn't really worry the Dr.  I just know I have to drink tons of water, eat a salty snack before working out, and be careful switching positions.  Can't remember what else. Good luck!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 4/28, 6 + 5

Upcoming Appointments: First US next Monday!

How are you feeling?: I feel like I’m spiraling. DH says he remembers me feeling this way with the first but maybe I blocked it out of my mind? Because I don’t remember this at all! I’m super tired, nauseated all the time, I have to force myself to eat (I do remember that part, at least), and I get really dizzy and light-headed.

Rants/Raves: First day at work yesterday after being off for two weeks, so it was my first day since finding out I’m pregnant. I thought i was going to struggle but it was okay, I was able to have little snacks throughout my shift which helped a lot but around 5pm the fatigue was REAL. The NICU babies were in rare form. It’s like they know…

    Questions: Nah
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 10 weeks, April 5

Upcoming Appointments: getting bloodwork done tomorrow

How are you feeling?: Better, but the nausea and fatigue are still making life more challenging

Rants/Raves: My son (almost 3) started asking about school (he saw a bunch of kids playing at a preschool, and my husband had explained that they were at school), so we're testing out an outdoor preschool for him next week... I'm not sure I'm ready for that! (I'm not even sure if that's a rant or a rave haha)

  • Due Date: I set up an appointment with the midwife I had with my youngest son and she’s going off of conception instead of LMP, which would move me from 4/4 to 4/1.

These babies are #4 and #5

Upcoming Appointments: I see my midwife for the first time Sept 22.

How are you feeling: I have been feeling TERRIBLE. But I think I’m over the worst of it, fx.

Rants/raves: The weather is cooling off a bit and I’m not feeling like death every day when I get home from work so I’m excited to get out and take walks again!!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 10+1

Upcoming Appointments: OB on Friday - not really even sure why since we already had the ultrasound, but they scheduled this one in advance so oh well.

How are you feeling?: Every day at 3 or 4pm I just start to feel like absolute isht. Like nauseas, tired, everything sounds gross, everything smells gross, just yuck. I feel that way until around 10pm, and then I'm STARVING because I couldn't manage to eat dinner, so then I just scarf down whatever I can. My mom made me some pumpkin breads with egg in it while we took DD to the botanic gardens this weekend, so I eat that while DD sleeps since at least it has some protein from the egg, and it's really easy for me to stomach.

Rants/Raves: Rant - just the nausea. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. Everyone keeps saying 12 weeks is when it will end but 1) they don't know that, and 2) ugh 2 weeks really does feel like a long time when you don't feel great. Rave - SO SO SO SO grateful to still have very minimal smoke in the air from the wildfires this year. SO grateful.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: April 8 - 9 + 5

Upcoming Appointments: I’m going to one of those elective ultrasound places on Thursday just for some added peace of mind and maybe a good picture. Next doctor appt is Oct 4.

How are you feeling?: Still nauseous, exhausted, and moody. SO ready to get out of the 1st tri, but trying to be thankful for every moment.

Rants/Raves:  I went all day yesterday with very minimal nausea!

    Questions: none

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Apr 7th / 9+6

Upcoming Appointments: Genetics Counseling on 9/9, next follow up with MFM 9/16

How are you feeling?: So tired and nauseous all the time. For some reason my nausea is always 10x worse on Tuesdays. Whyyy? I'm wondering if I overdo it on the weekends and then pay for it on Tuesdays? This is like the 3rd week in a row this has happened.

Rants/Raves: The hubs is officially over me being tired and nauseous and living in a messy house. We generally keep our house pretty clean since we're home all the time (thanks COVID for creating this monster in us). He does a lot around the house and I'm very thankful for him (he was a stay at home dad for quite a while). He gets it, but he's also expressing that he's not having fun at the moment. That makes 2 of us! haha
I'm also starting to feel everything expanding a lot more than usual. I typically sleep in a ball but I can't anymore because I can feel all my insides getting squashed.
We rage ordered a sleep number bed yesterday. We have hated our mattress for quite a while and decided enough is enough. Excited for that to arrive in a few weeks!

    Questions: none at the moment
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: April 16 8 + 2

    Upcoming Appointments: Friday

How are you feeling? So incredibly nauseas and constipated (thanks Zofran). I can’t function after 3pm aside from laying on bed/couch and trying not to puke. Feel so bad for my kids (since we haven’t told them yet and they are super confused) and my husband who is carrying the load with all the kids activities, dinner prep, etc. I seriously feel like a loser Mom. Really can’t wait to start turning the corner.

Rants/Raves:  Preschools are super tough to get into here so I’ve had my youngest daughter enrolled a year in advance. We were just notified that masks are optional so now we are scrambling to find her a place somewhere else and everything is booked solid except a super fancy preschool that is $1,750/month.

  • @shlecks yay for minimal nausea! Maybe you are turning the corner and that means I could be close behind.🤞🤞
  • @doxiemoxie212 pumpkin bread sounds delicious and manageable. Jealous!
  • @doxiemoxie212 it’s true! We are all doing our best :)
  • @Ivorytower2 My husband heard me talking badly about myself once and said, “don’t talk about my wife like that!” At the time it sounded so ridiculous that it made me laugh, but I think about it now every time I try to use negative speak about myself— How would I feel if I heard someone saying those things about DH, or DD? I’d be livid! So I owe myself at least that same level of loyalty and grace.
  • @minnie_yoga_mama I started mine super early last time too, like you mostly for planning / research purposes to add things as I came across them. Had a couple that I made at a few sites just to get the completion discounts but didn't give out to anyone.

@Avrilmai Congrats on being done with the PIO! I bet your bum is very thankful 😂. Hoping I get to stop in a couple weeks too.

@Ivorytower2 That's terrible they didn't tell you about their lax mask rules until the last minute. Hoping you found somewhere safe to send your daughter. All the preschools are about in that price range where we're moving to next year and infant care is around $2-2400/month.  Insane.

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 4/24, 7+3

FTM/STM/TTM+: STM, DS 3y in Nov

Upcoming Appointments: US and intake with the MW in 2 weeks. Hoping the RE is happy with today's US and we don't need another before then.

How are you feeling?: Dizzy, exhausted and nauseous, some days worse than others. Still able to eat and keep down regular food most meals, so hoping that continues.

Rant - Wishing it wasn't unhealthy food that settles my stomach the best. Broke down and ordered pizza for dinner on Sunday, and of course my stomach felt the best it has all week after pepperoni w/ mushrooms and black olives. Was the same story last go round.
Rave - hallelujah for the start of slightly cooler mornings and nights and a little less humidity!! Can finally enjoy being outside a little more again without being drenched. Hopefully being a little more active too.

    Questions: natm

  • @jennykatedvm Right?! Why is it the junk food that goes down the easiest?  I'm going to gain a million pounds.
    IAmPregnant Ticker
  • @Avrilmai +1 to the low BP during pregnancy. I second what everyone says about the water...for me I think its really just water, but I do move a lot on the job so it could also be related to that.

@Blondesweety444 lol to "rage ordered" with your mattress. Rage ordering out of finally being done with something is so satisfying. Hope it fixes any sleeping issues!

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 4.29/ 7 weeks

Upcoming Appointments: Not this week but next, and only a virtual intake.

How are you feeling?: Every day this week but today I've been sick in the morning- today I'm fine. Having trouble eating a good amount without feeling sick and I don't remember this being a thing this early before but I'm already feeling all the stretches when I move too fast and the edges of my hips are sore. I hear y'all on junk food settling the tummy...Ive been eating school lunch and it makes me feel a lot better!

Rants/Raves: rave: maternity pants with only the side panel came in and they actually fit! I can incognito wear mat pants now!

Questions: do we have a "what my pregnant self is eating" thread, or did we ever? Should we?
