  • Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis/conditions surrounding loss, etc.  MC at 7 weeks in May

    Status: TWW

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? i was trying so hard not to SS, but failed this weekend 🤦‍♀️ being that this is my first cycle off the bench, I kinda expected it to be like my first cycle TTC, but was hoping it wouldn't. Still not as bad as that first month, so maybe logic has won out after all.

Any testing coming up/any recent results?
Nope, probably won't even do a HPT since I'm WFAF. I think. I'm struggling to stay strong and resist the urge to test 😂

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: You're getting a manicure - how are you styling your nails? French mani or color? Long or short nails? Are they getting bedazzled, glittered, or with nail art? what a fun question! Ok so probably UO here, but I absolutely cannot stand long nails. On anyone. It creeps me out so much. So yeah, my nails are kept pretty short 😂 not super into nail art or bedazzling, and my favorite colors are usually any metallic/shimmery color, deep maroon-y reds (obvi with a shimmer), or light pinks, but I've recently been venturing back into blues/greens/purples for the summer and I'm loving it!

    Status: Benched

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well?

I finally stopped bleeding after the loss, so glad for a small step forward. I go back the end of next week to have HCG checked to see if I’m back in the negative range. I told our immediate families that we had a MC last week, which was a big step for me since I’m pretty private and we hadn’t told them we were pregnant. I wish I could fast-forward through this benched portion, but I’m glad to be feeling a little better each day.

Any testing coming up/any recent results?

Just the HCG appointment the end of next week. Otherwise a whole lot of waiting.

    Questions? Not today

GTKY: You're getting a manicure - how are you styling your nails? French mani or color? Long or short nails? Are they getting bedazzled, glittered, or with nail art?

I am a nail-picker, so manicures are pretty rare for me! I had to wait and get my nails done the night before my wedding so I didn’t have time to ruin them.  :D I do enjoy some sparkly/shimmery polish on my toes though (usually a peach/pink/red depending on the season).

  • Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis/conditions surrounding loss, etc. MMC/Blighted Ovum in July

Status: trying my hardest to get off this damn bench, but yet here I wait for AF..

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? Honestly I'm getting super annoyed. While AF is expected tomorrow, I have been having major cramps since Saturday with no AF in sight. I feel like I should have started (due to symptoms) but just haven't yet. It makes me nervous that I won't bleed or something and I'm going to end of back at the OB. I have never wanted my period sooo badly.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Nope

Questions? Anyone else feel like they had their period without actually bleeding? Like all other symptoms?

GTKY: You're getting a manicure - how are you styling your nails? French mani or color? Long or short nails? Are they getting bedazzled, glittered, or with nail art? I usually go with French because it's harder to tell when they grow out, so I feel like I can stretch it longer between appts.

  • Hi all. I guess I go here now.

Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis/conditions surrounding loss, etc. CP at 5 weeks/Sept 2021

Status: currently dealing with CP, and will have to be benched for once cycle

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? I’m sad. And in pain, which I guess now I can take ibuprofen. It’s a strange almost soreness. What’s going well is I love my OB. Labs were rushed yesterday afternoon, she called right at 9am. Without me even asking, she ordered the HCG check for a week, and then said that when I get a positive test again to call immediately and they’ll order labs to watch #s. She’s a lovely hilarious and blunt human, and seeing the softer side of her today was comforting.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? OB ordered a HCG check in a week to make sure I go down to 0.

Questions? So many, that probably no one can answer. But, the main one is how long will I bleed. OB indicated it should taper off this weekend, and to call if not.

GTKY: You're getting a manicure - how are you styling your nails? French mani or color? Long or short nails? Are they getting bedazzled, glittered, or with nail art? I pretty much always have painted nails, usually do them myself. I used to keep short and square, but recently let them a smidge longer than fingertips and oval. I stick to nude/almost white pink or red/dark purple-y black depending on season. I loathe glitter and nail art on my own hands, looks fun on others!!
  • @tessiesmom26 I don’t have any advice about your strange ghost period, but I hope you can talk to your doc and get it figured out if it doesn’t show up soon.

@anniemarie887 I’m so sorry you find yourself here. It was weirdly hard for me to take pain meds (even though I knew I could). Something about it just made the loss feel more real. I bled for a little over a week, but I’m not sure if the duration of the pregnancy has any bearing on that. Sending you lots of hugs today.

  • @anniemarie887 I'm so sorry to see you here friend. If you ever want to chat more send me a message.

I bled for about 3 days and spotted for another 3 with my CP at 5 weeks. FWIW my midwife didn't think it necessary to wait a cycle before trying again (though she did give us the parameter of feeling ready to TTC again) but I had already tested negative on an HPK.

I'm glad you have excellent care in your OB.

@tessiesmom26 I hope AF comes soon and that your doc is helpful if it's still a no-show.

Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis/conditions surrounding loss, etc. CP at 5 weeks last cycle, MMC sported at 12 wk ultrasound in Dec 2018 followed by D&C, then a second D&C in Jan 2019 because the first one failed.

    Status: TWW

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well?
I'm doing ok this time around. Trying not to SS, and like many others noticing that the waiting is so hard.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Trying to WFAF

    Questions? Not today

GTKY: You're getting a manicure - how are you styling your nails? French mani or color? Long or short nails? Are they getting bedazzled, glittered, or with nail art? I love a boring french manicure or go for solid pale nudes/cherry reds. Although I currebtly have a coat of iridescent sparkle on.
  • @abjm0325 thank you.
@jandawg thank you, and I’ve heard from others that you don’t technically need to wait either.
  • @pajamstagrams some habits are hard to break huh? lol Too easy to SS. And yes I totally hate long nails too! I can't stand the sound of nails hitting keyboards as you type. My ideal length is maybe 2-3mm.

@abjm0325 being open is so hard when you're a private person. I completely understand being the same way.

@tessiesmom26 I hope AF comes for you soon! That's super weird. If anything I've had cramps the day before AF's arrival. I wonder if you're still retaining tissue or something and your body is having a hard time expelling it. Definitely worth talking with your doctor.

@anniemarie887 I'm so sorry you find yourself here. Take care of yourself  <3

@jandawg an iridescent sparkle is a little too flashy for me lol. I hardly ever paint my nails though so I'm not the adventurous type (besides bright lime and teal colors ha).

Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis/conditions surrounding loss, etc. MC at 8 weeks Oct 2020

    Status: TWW

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? I'm getting a little antsy waiting for my RI appointment but I'm happy to have something to look forward to. Trying not to think about everybody else's babies but that's hard as hell. Unrelated to TTC, I'm a bit frustrated because my therapist gave me what I'm sure is awful advise about dealing with my SIL (if you recall July's vacation debacle). My therapist basically said there's no boundaries that we can set! What!?! SIGH.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? I should be going for bloodwork in a few weeks after my initial consult with the RI

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: You're getting a manicure - how are you styling your nails? French mani or color? Long or short nails? Are they getting bedazzled, glittered, or with nail art? The times I've actually had a real mani it's been a french manicure. At home I'll paint my nails a solid color. I'm partial to dark gray, teal, and lime green. I will never ever do glitter. Way too much work to remove.

  • @inthewoods23 Um, that's a big WTF to your therapist. Of course you need boundaries with difficult family members!
  • @abjm0325 right? I understood what she was saying when she said we were powerless in the situation with SIL and her theatrics before she left early for home because there wasn't anything we could do to change her mind. That I did agree with, but why couldn't we set a boundary in the future of no I'm not going to do anything with you and your outburst and will ignore it/go into another room? I don't think I mentioned it, but she also said it's what I have to deal with because I married into it. And sure, some of the boundary laying has to be done and enforced by DH and I can only have so much input into that. I'm considering finding another therapist for some better perspective and with implementing boundaries and just overall standing up for myself instead of avoiding conflict.

  • @inthewoods23 Yeah, based on this interaction at least I would question how helpful this therapist could be moving forward. You and your H get to decide how much and when you should interact with them in the future. You don't "have" to deal with anything. Sheesh.
  • @abjm0325 the last few months/sessions I've felt some of the stuff she's said is off similar to this and I had been thinking about whether or not I wanted to keep seeing her. Like when I've asked for advice or suggestions she doesn't provide me with anything to act on or think about the next time a particular situation occurs. She doesn't ask probing questions too much either. Our sessions always start with her asking "what can I help you with today?". She was great with helping me be better towards DH and changing certain mindsets and attitudes towards him but outside that we're definitely plateauing.
