Re: EDD 4/1-4/8, week of 8/2

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 4/7/2022, 4w+5d

    Upcoming Appointments: first ultrasound 8/19

How are you feeling?: pretty good overall. Sometimes the exhaustion destroys me. Not enjoying cooking meat, but I can still eat it at this point. Occasional wave of nausea but nothing huge.

    Rants/Raves:
    - my nipples hurt. If I could walk around with no shirt or bra that would be great. I wore a sports bra the other day and that felt better. I’m highly considering buying some nursing bras now.
    - I was able to talk to my new MFM dr today and he was great. Seems very very knowledgeable and listed to and answered all my questions. He was hopeful that this would be an uneventful pregnancy for me with the medication they are putting me on. So that was wonderful to hear!

    Questions:

GTKY: If you could move anywhere, where would you move? This is a good question. I actually really like where we live for the most part. There’s lots of stuff to do and really easy access to mountains, rivers, etc.  I’ve always said if I could do an expat assignment I would go to Japan. But not sure if I’d want that to become my permanent residence.

  • @Blondesweety444 it's great that you got to talk to the MFM dr. and that you're comfortable with your tx plan.

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 4/3, 5w-1

Upcoming Appointments: first u/s is at 7-1

How are you feeling?: tired, well exhausted, all of the time.

Rants/Raves: i am bruising a lot more from my progesterone injections than I did last time and i'm having more knots. not sure why. I'm considering adding supplemental iron since I'm borderline anemic on a regular day.

    Questions:

GTKY: If you could move anywhere, where would you move? such a hard question! if travel/transportation weren't a barrier somewhere like New Zealand comes to mind.

@Blondesweety444 boo to sore nipples, but glad your dr is optimistic!
@avrilmai I've always wanted to go to NZ.

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 4/3, 4+5

Upcoming Appointments: First appointment August 27

How are you feeling?: Anxious about how I'm going to pull off my already hectic work schedule with nausea. At least after I reveal my pregnancy it'll be easier to build in accommodations (flexibility, reduced travel, etc).

Rants/Raves: Rant - I'm on call for jury duty the ENTIRE MONTH of August. I don't even find out until the night before if the following day is going to get blasted with jury duty chaos. Rave - My daughter (2) just started potty training, and her enthusiasm for it is adorable. She spends her days with her 4-year-old niece whom she adores, and I think that's part of her excitement. Very few accidents so far. FX this'll be easy?

Questions: Is it weird that MH doesn't really come to my appointments except the U/S ones? There are soooo many.

GTKY: If you could move anywhere, where would you move? New Orleans to be near family and job opportunities. AMAZING food and I love shopping the antiques and art. H was a firm no because it's way too hot and will someday be underwater permanently, which is fair.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: April 4th/ 5 weeks today

Upcoming Appointments: I have my first appt  8/23 (at 8 weeks)

How are you feeling?: totally normal which is great but also disconcerting. I keep testing every morning to make sure the line stays nice and dark

    Rants/Raves:
Rant: had to go back to work today after being off for 4 months and sat in nearly 2 hours of traffic to get there
Rave: grateful that I’ll mostly be working from home going forward -only going in once a week

    Questions:

GTKY: If you could move anywhere, where would you move?
somewhere that you could buy a mansion for like a million bucks and not just an ordinary, small house and had low taxes but still had top schools and all 4 seasons!
Right now I live in NJ and I’m grateful for the school systems around here but we just get killed in taxes and your money doesn’t go far. I’m thinking this is a fictional place!

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: April 4th/ 5 weeks

Upcoming Appointments: first ultrasound august 10th!

How are you feeling?: I feel good. I started wearing sea bands so my nausea is gone

Rants/Raves: going on a child free vacation Wednesday to Sunday and I am SO EXCITED to get away

    Questions:

GTKY: If you could move anywhere, where would you move?

like I have to live there and get a job and raise my kids there or is this like in theory, you have a ton of money and can just play all day because then my answers are different. For the first, I adore where I am in CT. For the latter I would go live in Croatia. I adored it there. The pace of life. The food. The natural beauty. It was fantastic.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 4/4 5 weeks

Upcoming Appointments: Aug 25 with some random OB to do the initial scan (my OB is on vacation that week so they scheduled me with some rando who gets terrible reviews online and seems to just bop around hospital systems as a sub? Sounds dope) and then an appointment on Sept 10 with my actual OB so MH can meet her since we had our daughter in NYC with obviously a different care team.

How are you feeling?: Fine, hungry. Constantly hungry. Debating if I want to stick with the OB team or move to the midwife team. It changes almost nothing - our hospital here even with the OBs is suuuuuper pro unmedicated, which I don't even really want; I got an epidural with DD - but I think the midwives might be more tapped into some ancillary care teams locally that could help with pain support for my hypermobility stuff and might have more knowledge of alternative birthing positions.

Rants/Raves: I started freelancing (scientific communications) again today which is both a rant and a rave. I stopped after I had my daughter, and I was going to start again but covid and MH's job made it too impossible, but he just switched jobs so we have more flexibility as a family. I'm excited and kinda nervous. I also have DD's baked milk challenge at UCSF on Thursday, so we had to get her covid test today at her pedi's office (which was so effing annoying - they lied on the phone and told me it would take maximum 2 days to process, but then told me in person it could be as long as 5 days which would make it useless for the challenge, and we'll have to cancel if results aren't back by EOD Wednesday), and then on Thursday I have to wake her up super early, not feed her anything, drive over an hour to UCSF and then stay there with her solo for 6 full hours while we monitor to see if this muffin kills her. Just such a joy. Then we do it again in two weeks for baked egg. Fingers crossed she passes both because then she can go to real bakeries!!!!!

    Questions: nah

GTKY: If you could move anywhere, where would you move? This is a complicated question, and it stresses me out because it just makes me think about climate change for some reason (probably because I'd love to live on an island but that seems like it's getting increasingly risky lol). Outside the US would be really complicated with DD's and DH's food allergies, but if I could eliminate that then maybe Italy or the Netherlands? But we kind of did our real world version of a dream move moving back to my hometown from NYC 2 years ago, and I'm SO glad we did.
  • @doxiemoxie212 food allergies are such a royal pain! But fingers crossed that she passes her challenges and can enjoy some delicious baked goods! 🤤
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:  4/6 -  4+4

    Upcoming Appointments:  Aug 30

How are you feeling?:  Mostly fine, just overly bloated and hungry.  Tired.  Moody.  Scared.

Rants/Raves:  Back to work tomorrow after a wonderful week vacation just the 3 of us!  We went to Asheville, NC for a couple days and then out to the Outer Banks for 3 more.  Drove the whole way.  It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL out there!  We loved it and will hopefully go back again someday.  My son starts his final year of preschool tomorrow!

    Questions:  none

GTKY: If you could move anywhere, where would you move?  I'd probably move a little bit north of here.  We're in Nashville TN, and I'm from central Illinois.  I love it down here but it's so dang hot.  But if this is like DREAM world we're talking about, gosh I don't know!  I'd at least have a cabin in the Smokies.  Near Dollywood because DUH.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: April 6, I’m 5 weeks today

    Upcoming Appointments: Aug 27

How are you feeling?: No real nausea yet, but I barely had any with my first. My breasts already feel humongous and tender, and I’ve been experiencing bloating and constipation yay!! Lol so I just feel fat.

Rants/Raves: We’ve already had to tell some of our family bc we were at a pool party over the weekend and they got suspicious when I wasn’t having a drink 🥴

Questions: This is my 2nd go around so no questions yet.

GTKY: If you could move anywhere, where would you move? Out west! The mountains. We live in SW Florida and it’s just too hot and gross here, I miss the seasons.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 4/2/22 (5w5d)

Upcoming Appointments: 1st sonogram Monday 8/9!

How are you feeling?: Lots of headaches + fatigue, very sore breasts. Starting to feel some nausea.

Rants/Raves: SO and I have been excited thinking about how to tell our families!

Questions: Nothing yet... but it's still early on haha :D

GTKY: If you could move anywhere, where would you move? Someplace warmer than Western NY! I have family in NC and my SO went to college there and they all say great things, so maybe there!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 4/2 5w6d

    Upcoming Appointments: First Ultrasound Monday!!!

How are you feeling?: Excited. My hcg levels are rising nicely, but I'm still on edge

Rants/Raves: It's the weekend! Work was crazy trying to get something done by today, so I feel like I'm so far behind this week! I did tell my boss I'm expecting. I normally would wait until second trimester, but we're asked to make the choice between WFH, go in the office or hybrid and I thought I owed him an explanation why I want to WFH. I do have a few people who report to me, so I wasn't sure how it would go over. Luckily he seems open to the idea. It feels weird to tell someone besides my family first.

    Questions:

GTKY: If you could move anywhere, where would you move? My husband and I were just talking about this. I'm going to be working remotely for awhile and my husbands date to return to the office keeps getting pushed back. I think we would stay close to where we are in the midwest, because we're close to family.

@Avrilmai, I hope the bruising has gotten better!

@loveanddatadriven, not weird at all. My husband will likely only go to the ultrasound ones too! It's a lot of time off work to go to all of them and usually it's just a quick in and out.

@ everyone who is feeling tired, same here!
