I don’t know if I should just hang tight and assume that this is just a typical slow month and things will normalize eventually? I just hate it because I was hoping to save a bit extra before baby comes and this is making it more difficult!
Questions: Is anyone having a baby shower or sprinkle with your second+? Or a celebration party of some sort? Or no?
GTKY: Do you have a nickname/pet name you use for for your December baby? We’ve just been calling her “baby girl” or “baby girl #2”which feels kind of bad. I can’t think of anything else though. Sometimes we still call DD baby, and then this one “little baby” haha.
@rgn12 no celebrations here past baby #1. I was sad about that for #2 but got over it once my hormones settled. We'd gone through a lot to get her and it felt unfair that her brother (who came easily enough) got all the fanfair. But like I said, I got over it and it doesn't bother me anymore looking back.
How far along are you?: 22wks as of Saturday

@rgn12 - This is our third, so no sprinkles that I am aware of. Honestly, I really disliked our wedding and baby showers. I hate being the center of attention especially around a larger group of people. With our second 7-8 of my closest work friends threw me a little sprinkle, but it was more just hanging out and enjoying each others company before I moved 10 hours back to our home state. Personally I'm 100% ok with no sprinkle and with covid getting bad again I would probably decline it anyway unless it was immediate family only. With the exception of my three best friends and immediate family, we aren't hanging out with others indoors (and except school when it starts). I realize we're more cautious than most though.

@mockingjay1 I’m totally with you on being careful. I’ve been super cautious this whole pandemic too. We 100% did grocery delivery or pickup for a while there. Now my husband goes to the store for us since he’s fully vaxxed and I’m pregnant. I still do delivery sometimes! Delta variant is making me super anxious though recently. Our circle is pretty small, just immediate family and two family friends. No one has offered for us or anything for a baby celebration, so it likely wouldn’t happen anyways. I guess I just feel kind of bad (like @prpl11butterfly mentioned too) and guilty that people went all out for DD and we had several big celebrations with lots of family and friends. Granted that was a different time, before all this pandemic craziness. Ugh. I think I’m just all in my feelings and hormonal. Maybe we can do a baby celebration with just the three of us in the fall to get excited and I’m sure my daughter would love that too.
Sorry guys for the rant, I’m feeling sensitive about this…. Is there a hormonal surge after 20 weeks because this is intense?!? 🤦🏻♀️🤣
Okay, onto regular tags!!
@mockingjay1 yay, so exciting for vacation! I’m sure that’s much needed! Where are you guys going?? Also, my two year old’s sleep has been super inconsistent lately too, so I’ve not been getting good sleep either! Ugh! I hope your LO starts sleeping better soon!
@prpl11butterfly my work has been slow too, and after talking with a few others it’s been the same for them as well. Maybe this is just a slow time for everyone? Weird! Also, same with the name situation… are you all close to picking one or not yet? Last night I thought we might’ve picked one but then some other contenders popped up. I really want to pick a name ahead of time this time around if possible.
@mockingjay1 we are super careful too! The only place I don't wear a mask is around work (but thinking that will be changing soon, I think my state is about to enforce them again) and I have a good idea of who's vaxxed/unvaxxed. I avoid close/prolonged contact around the un..... FX your school board votes in favor of masking!
@rgn12 I think a lot of industries are on the slower side. People being careful with their money maybe 🤷♀️ We might be close on a name. There are 2 I loved for DS that DH said no to and I would have brought up again had DD not been D lol. Strangely enough, he suggested BOTH of those names as contenders! They actually even sound great together but the initials would be very very bad.... so I'm going to suggest Option 1 with his deceased brothers middle name (as we have pulled NO names from his family, only mine) as babys middle name or Option 2 (which also happens to be my paternal grandfather's middle name) with my maternal grandfather's 1st name as a middle name. Personally, with my hesitancy to pick a name that can be shortened, option 2 would fit the bill. **If that name jumble didn't make sense, I'm sorry, I realize it's a lot of words 🤣**
@rgn12- i hear you! no sprinkle planned yet, but this girl deserves a celebration too. I def wouldn't want gifts or anything... just a chance to see my friends and celebrate this miracle. But, with delta raging, its probably best we don't get together anyways
@prpl11butterfly- yay for a mid week vacation day! those are the best. I hope you guys decide on a name sooN! we have a name, but haven't been calling baby it for some reason!
@mockingjay1- how long are you on vacation and where are you going? we just got back from a week off and it was so nice
How far along are you?: Tomorrow is 22 weeks! If i could just fast forward to term, i would!
Upcoming appointments: Counting the days until my appts on 8/18. I will have another ultrasound, fetal echo, meet our new cardiac team at Childrens and meet my new high risk midwife. I will feel much better once I am settled with the new team and can ask all the questions I have been coming up with. Right now I just feel in limbo between the two groups...
How are you feeling?: Physcially, this is the best I have felt, though heartburn is starting to get annoying. Mentally, its up and down with anxiety with so much unknown in the next few months. Trying to just take it day by day.
Rants/Raves: I am SO bummed, we were supposed to fly to Denver this weeekend to meet my sisters baby and see our nephew (same age as my son) who we haven't seen in a year! but with Delta raging, my two year old not wearing a mask for hours and now this high risk pregnancy, we made the hard call to cancel. I'm just so sick of all of this and wish everyone would get vaccinated already.
Questions: Are you guys on other BMBs? when did you move to facebook?? i want to connect more, but its SO hard on the mobile site, so can really only type much when on my work computer
GTKY: Do you have a nickname/pet name you use for for your December baby? We dont! just baby really... So boring hahaha

@JamieH2000 I would totally be up for moving to FB already. I agree it’s hard to keep up on here… I know we kind of have a small group, but it would be nice to connect more! I’m so sorry about your trip being canceled! I totally get it and don’t blame you though. This is just such a scary and uncertain time. I’ve thought about canceling our upcoming beach trip, but I’m trying to hold out because I’d only get a 50% refund and it’s after school starts back so I am hoping no one will be there.
@prpl11butterfly that totally makes sense! It sounds like you guys are certainly narrowing things down though!! Progress at least?? We have three first names picked out. I really want the #1 choice. Middle name is uncertain, but my husband picked a good one the other day. Kind of thinking on it now.
@JamieH2000 I'm in 2 other BMB groups. My A15 group didn't to FB move until after birth. O19 moved to a PG here in July of 19 and then FB at the end of Aug 19. Bummer about your trip. It's so tough to decide what is best.
@rgn12 sometimes you have to sit on them for a bit to see which feels best! Lol
@rgn12 I don't think there's anything wrong with feeling that way! Hormone surge or not Re: Two year old and sleep - he's never regularly slept through the night. Maybe 20-30 nights in his whole 2yr 9mo existence. A complete difference from my first who slept through the night from seven weeks pretty much on.
@rgn12@JamieH2000 We're going to CO for a couple days and Yellowstone for four days. We're excited!
@JamieH2000 I hope the time passes quickly until you get to meet your new team, and I hope you love them! Re: Facebook - my N14 board didn't move to fb until I think after birth. My N18 board was a month or two before birth I think. It's definitely easier to keep up and navigate on fb, but I feel like there's not many regular posters here, so I'd be pretty hesitant to let people who haven't posted enough I'd recognize their user name in, ya know what I mean? I felt like we knew each other pretty well with both my other BMBs before we migrated to fb.

How are you feeling?: I have one of the Amazon pregnancy pillows that you guys recommended coming tomorrow and can't freaking wait! About this time of day, I feel like I could just crash anywhere but once I'm in bed I'm wide awake till midnight. 🤦🏼♀️
Rants/Raves: After this week, I think our summer is finally free of baseball and band practice! 🙌 It will be nice to not have to plan around stuff but I'm sure after a week of it I'll be bored. Just can't win. 🤣
Questions:
GTKY: Do you have a nickname/pet name you use for for your December baby? My father in law always uses Baby P for my ex sister in law, my sister in law and myself when we're pregnant and it's just kind of stuck haha. Otherwise this time it's been baby or baby sister.
@rgn12 Nothing planned for a shower or sprinkle and as much as I'd love the gifts and goodies, it's so much work and that doesn't sound super exciting right now. I'm hoping my in-laws will just gift us a dresser. That's really all we need being I saved everything.
@mockingjay1 SO jealous of your trip! This time last year we were making our way out west! We stayed like 20 minutes from West Yellowstone. It's BEAUTIFUL!
@rpreston17 same, I don’t really need anything either. I just wanted a celebration, but with covid probably not a good idea anyways! Bummer!
@mockingjay1 thank you, that is validating! Your trip sounds like fun!
Piggy backing off the FB/BMB stuff, with mine for July ‘19 I think they migrated either shortly before due dates or after. I kind of fizzled out towards the end because there were so many people it was a little overwhelming to keep up with. This group is the total opposite though, not many of us at all! I’m good with whatever honestly, but the bump is kind of difficult to navigate in the app at times. Either way, I’m here!
How are you feeling?: Super tired & drained. 2nd week at work & it’s kind of tough working 8 full hours with no nap in between. I’m trying to save all of my time until after I have my baby boy.
Rants/Raves: Speaking of work…so whose bright idea was it for the average American to work 5 days a week for 8 hours?! I’m over it🙄
Questions: None
GTKY: Do you have a nickname/pet name you use for for your December baby? Before we knew the gender, we called the bump Baby B now that we know the gender, we call him by his actual name: Boston ☺️
How are you feeling?: Great but oh man this heartburn! I don't remember it starting so early the last few times! I have been doing all of the things (so much water, eating the right foods) but it seems to come no matter what. I'll def be asking my doctor next week, but what do y'all do for heartburn?
Rants/Raves: Rave! My oldest daughter has been staying with us for the summer and has had her boyfriend here as well for the past couple of weeks. He is very nice but I am so looking forward to him leaving tomorrow so I can reclaim some space in our apartment lol (terrible, I know!). My daughter will be heading back to college the week after and then maybe life will resume some sense of normalcy but prob not. Having two 21-year olds in the house is. . . a lot lol.
Questions: What are y'all up to the last few weeks of summer? What's on your summer bucket lists?
GTKY: Do you have a nickname/pet name you use for for your December baby? We call her by her name.
@rgn12: same @mockingjay1! I'm really thankful for the showers I have had but really, really don't like them and would prefer to not have another. I don't like having baby showers, I don't like attending baby showers and zoom baby showers are the absolute worst lol. One of my friends already asked to throw something and I told her flat out I did not want to, but appreciated the kind idea and I hope I didn't come off as rude. She said she would try me again this fall . I am hoping my partner's mother doesn't try to throw something as that will be harder to weasel my way out of.
@rgn12@prpl11butterfly ugh my work has been slow too. It's driving me nuts! The days move so slowly and it is weirdly exhausting to not be busy!
@JamieH2000 - i'm so sorry to hear about your trip, it's so frustrating. We cancelled a trip back west this week as well bc of the delta variant. I was really pissed about it for a day (thanks hormones!) but really feel like it was the best choice, esp since my youngest isn't eligible for a vaccine yet. It's just so f*ing exhausting.
My last BMB moved to facebook after birth, which seemed like a good time to move since we wanted to post pics of our babies in a more secure space.
Hi ladies, I haven’t posted in a while since life has been crazy, but I’m going to try really hard to be more active here!
@rgn12 Sorry to hear that things are on the slower side at work. What do you do for work? I hope it picks up soon without you having to change your schedule
@prpl11butterfly Good to see you here.. I had no idea you were in this BMB. Sounds like a fun vacation day, hope you enjoyed it!
@mockingjay1 Hope you have a great time on your vacation!
@JamieH2000 Hope your team is able to answer all your questions and help you feel more at ease. I hear you on wishing everyone would get vaxxed!
@rpreston17 Yay so glad you are getting your pillow.. mine was a game changer!
@mommyb31 I’m so over working long hours.. I take a lot of naps on my days off but I wish I could take a nap every day!
@bkjade I can relate to wanting to have your own space back! It can be really draining having guests. I’m planning to go to the beach and the cabin.. I have 2 weeks vacation at the end of August and I can’t wait!! It’s so needed. Are you doing anything exciting the rest of summer?

How are you feeling?: Great! I have been suffering with a lot of anxiety this pregnancy but have been working through things with a counsellor and I’m in a pretty good place now. I still have some food aversions but it seems to slowly be getting better.

@misshelen86 yay so happy to see you back!! I totally get the anxiety, I was struggling for a while there with PGAL anxiety. I still have my moments, but trying to stay optimistic.
For my job, I’m a therapist. I work by appt only, and my appts have been so sporadic in the last few weeks. A lot of therapists I know have waiting lists right now, as do I. I’m scared to take on new cases and overwhelm myself, but I am running out to time to start new people. I think my office cut me off around 28 weeks last time with new clients, which I totally understand because I want to be able to dedicate a solid amount of time to people before taking a break for maternity leave. It’s a struggle, because I love my job so much! I’ll probably just go with the flow for the next few months, maybe it’s a mixed blessing to gradually phase out.
@misshelen86 hiiiiiii!!!! I was pretty late to join the club. 1st was the PGAL brain and then TB was being hateful and I just didn't have the energy to deal with it. But I'm happy to have familiar friends here! PGAL is HARD. It's great that your seeing a counselor and that it's helping. I saw one all through TTCAL and right up until 2wks before O19 was born.
@JamieH2000 I am ready to move to Facebook. With my May19 group I think we moved around 30 weeks?
@rgn12 I don't think I will have a sprinkle but I know people will still send gifts. My sister is about 9 weeks pregnant with her first. She's thinking about waiting until after the baby is born to have a shower I believe which is fine with me since travelling with a 2 month old on a plane during covid is not going to happen here. I am lucky to live somewhere where there is only 1 or 2 cases in the whole province per day but I'm assuming that will change closer to Christmas. I just hope they don't lockdown the province again and then my mom wouldn't be able to come help with the new babe.
How far along are you?: 23w4d

How are you feeling?: I'm feeling crappy. I'm not use to the Atlantic Canada weather and it rains here every other day. The pressure gives me a lot.of sinus headaches which I also read is common in thr 2nd trimester.
Rants/Raves: raves: we are renovating our two bathrooms at the end of the month. Rants: when I'm pregnant, I lose all sense of art and design. I went to art school and I can visualize things really well except for when I'm pregnant. I'm second guessing all my choices for the bathroom renos.
Questions: nope
GTKY: Do you have a nickname/pet name you use for for your December baby? Not really in my head I call her by her name though
@kaitcrystalline I’m thinking about maybe a “sip and see” or whatever it’s called that you do after the baby is born to celebrate them, pending covid craziness of course. We’ll just see what happens! I am feeling a little better about things now I think.
@bkjade my heartburn has been crazy, too. Last pregnancy I used zantac, but this time I am just using antacid chews and recently I started using antacid liquid which is working MUCH better than the chews. I hope you get some relief.
I am really late to the game this week! Oops. Still trying to keep up, but having hard time finding time to post!
How far along are you?: 22+4
Upcoming appointments: Aug 16th for 24 week appointment
How are you feeling?: Feeling pretty good. Lots of heartburn, though. In the evenings babe likes to settle in up high and I have been having major discomfort in my rib cage and upper back. I feel like I am finally out of my anxious fog regarding babe and covid and all the things so emotionally I am in a good place!
Rants/Raves: DD has been really struggling at bedtime recently so we made a few adjustments to bedtime routine and started using a sticker chart. Tonight was the first time in over 3 weeks that she went to sleep without a fight! Fingers crossed this change is for good.
Questions: nope
GTKY: Do you have a nickname/pet name you use for for your December baby? Usually we just call him baby, or baby brother now that we know it's a boy. We also made up a joke name that we sometimes call him, but hubby doesn't want us to tell anyone that nickname because we are now actually considering it as his real name!
@bkjade my doctor said Pepcid and Zantac were both fine to take with heartburn. I’ve been using Pepcid and Tums. Like I’m glad I’m not nauseous any more but I hate the heartburn too.

Back for # 2!
@rgn12 sometimes you have to sit on them for a bit to see which feels best! Lol
@rgn12 @JamieH2000 We're going to CO for a couple days and Yellowstone for four days.
Dx: PCOS
DS1 born 11/2014
DS2 born 11/2018

Rainbow baby due 12/2021 - Team Green
How far along are you?: 22 weeks.
Upcoming appointments: Not for a couple weeks.
@mockingjay1 thank you, that is validating! Your trip sounds like fun!
How far along are you?: 22 weeks
Upcoming appointments: At 24 weeks
How are you feeling?: Super tired & drained. 2nd week at work & it’s kind of tough working 8 full hours with no nap in between. I’m trying to save all of my time until after I have my baby boy.
Rants/Raves: Speaking of work…so whose bright idea was it for the average American to work 5 days a week for 8 hours?! I’m over it🙄
Questions: None
GTKY: Do you have a nickname/pet name you use for for your December baby? Before we knew the gender, we called the bump Baby B now that we know the gender, we call him by his actual name: Boston ☺️
How far along are you?: 19 weeks
Upcoming appointments: next week
How are you feeling?: Great but oh man this heartburn! I don't remember it starting so early the last few times! I have been doing all of the things (so much water, eating the right foods) but it seems to come no matter what. I'll def be asking my doctor next week, but what do y'all do for heartburn?
Rants/Raves: Rave! My oldest daughter has been staying with us for the summer and has had her boyfriend here as well for the past couple of weeks. He is very nice but I am so looking forward to him leaving tomorrow so I can reclaim some space in our apartment lol (terrible, I know!). My daughter will be heading back to college the week after and then maybe life will resume some sense of normalcy
but prob not. Having two 21-year olds in the house is. . . a lot lol.
Questions: What are y'all up to the last few weeks of summer? What's on your summer bucket lists?
GTKY: Do you have a nickname/pet name you use for for your December baby? We call her by her name.@rgn12: same @mockingjay1! She said she would try me again this fall
@rgn12 @prpl11butterfly ugh my work has been slow too.
How far along are you?: 22 weeks
Upcoming appointments: Had an appointment on Tuesday and got my results back for my anatomy scan.. everything was good but I have to go back next week for head measurements since baby’s head was too low in my pelvis. Next appointment will Aug 31 and I th
How are you feeling?: Great! I have been suffering with a lot of anxiety this pregnancy but have been working through things with a counsellor and I’m in a pretty good place now. I still have some food aversions but it seems to slowly be getting better.
Rants/Raves: My clothes are really starting to get tight so I went on an online shopping spree and I think I’m set for the rest of summer now! I’m loving watching this bump grow since I never thought I would get to experience this.
Questions: Not right now
GTKY: Do you have a nickname/pet name you use for for your December baby? We call the baby monkey or little one

ETA words… just words.. 🤣
Upcoming appointments: Monday for 24 weeks
