I AGREE WITH THIS 100 PERCENT. I hate, hate, HATE the beach. If I am going to a place that is known for beaches, then yes, I'll go for a little bit because I think I should take advantage. Bermuda and Greece come to mind - two of the most beautiful beaches I've been to. But on a regular summer day? No thank you.
I will add this caveat, though - the beach is kinda fun with kids. They're fun when they're playing in the water, and building sand castles and moats is addicting. But if it's just adults? Give me a pool. Actually, our favorite hotel on Maui is like a mile from the beach, but it's an adult-only resort, so it's super relaxing and quiet, which makes the pool area AWESOME.
@Lisa3379 Yes, the beach is so fun with kids, BUT also so much work both before and after. When we went a couple weeks ago, I swear it took us just as long to prepare to get to the beach as we spent actually playing, haha.
My UO is that I am not a fan of when women automatically call me "mama" just because I have kids. I know it's an easy way to refer to someone, so I get it and don't mind if anyone in here does that, it just is something that always seems weird to me!
Oh man, I love the beach! I probably take my dog on long walks/runs on the beach 3 days a week. It’s definitely one of my serenity places. But I can see how whole days at the beach can be exhausting. I’m only there for an hour or so.
I can’t think of an unpopular opinion now. I’m in pain bc I had a dental deep cleaning this AM ugh. And I have a feeling if I say I hate the dentist most everyone will agree. I’ll comment later when I think of something to add!
@karenmarie9 oh no! I'm sorry. I'm not a big fan of the dentist either, but I have a friend from my D16 Bump group that LOVES going to the dentist. It's so weird. So whenever any of us go to the dentist, we post in the daily random thread and tag her and let her know we went to the dentist that day
@Lisa3379 - it’s normally not so bad but I’d neglected going during the pandemic and had to do the whole deep cleaning thing over multiple visits. Today was my last one though! That’s so funny y’all still tag her!
My UO is that I actually don’t mind the dentist 😂 I have very sensitive eyes so the doctor I really dread is the eye doctor!! I have an appointment later in August that I’m anxious for.
