Feelings about the appointment: Super stressed. My horrible nausea is making me hopeful for a viable baby, but I've been pretty sick with previous losses. That being said, this is the earliest I've ever started throwing up...so I'm not sure if this is a good or bad sign:/ Anyways, just wishing the days would go by a bit faster so I at least have a definitive idea of what's going on in there.

When is your next appointment: First ultrasound and appointment is August 16. Forever away!

Feelings about the appointment: I’ve always gotten in early so it’s painful waiting this long. But lots going on right now so hopefully it’ll go quickly. I’m looking forward to it. Meeting my new OB since mine retired from delivering babies last year. I’m excited to make a connection with my new dr. Also a bit nervous since I’m not having any symptoms really.

When is your next appointment: Aug 3 for repeat US, I’ll be 8w. Midwife appt the following week. 

Feelings about the appointment: Mostly excited? My first US my LMP gestation was 7w but I was measuring 6w. I know my average cycle is 34-35 days so exactly a week longer than average. They saw the heartbeat and when the doctor asked me about my cycle she even said, “oh, then this is right on track for your normal cycle.” Even though I KNOW all this, the feeling of measuring a week “behind” stresses me out. I haven’t had horrible symptoms. Tired, bloated, some meat aversion. Recent RLP twinges have made me feel a little better, just because it seems like my uterus is stretching for growth and that’s good. But I’ll continue to be anxious until I see that healthy heartbeat again.

When is your next appointment: Aug. 17

Feelings about the appointment: I am anxious for it to get here! I know my midwife's office likes to wait until 8-10 weeks, but right now that feels so far away. Hoping the time passes quickly and that we see a strong heartbeat! My midwife from my last pregnancy has moved, so hoping I like the other midwives in the practice now.

@panaceia I'm sorry that you're feeling stressed. Fingers crossed that these next few weeks fly by for you.

@v2hb I'm not having a ton of symptoms either. Every once in a while I'll get a wave of nausea and think, "Hooray!" (which I know sounds nuts), but then I feel fine again. Good luck with your new doctor!

@rachelredhead I know what you mean about being stressed even when the doctor isn't. Only a week until you get to see your little bean again.

How far along are you: 6 weeks, 2 days.

When is your next appointment: August 9th is a repeat blood draw, August 10th is an ultrasound (I'll be 8 weeks, 1 day).

Feelings about the appointment: Honestly, I go back and forth. One minute I'm feeling really good about everything, the next minute I'm picturing the worst-case scenario. I feel like I didn't fully relax in my last pregnancy until after the anatomy scan. I've downloaded the app "Expectful" and have been doing the pregnancy meditations, which have been really helpful.

@elle-0409 I'm sorry you're feeling stressed too:/ I didn't relax last time until I could feel kicks consistently which wasn't until about 26 weeks...and even then I'd wake her up and jiggle her around any time I didn't feel her kick for like 5 minutes...

Feelings about the appointment:  Relaxed and excited.  I was super nervous for my first US at 6+3, but having good news has kept me more relaxed.  I'm just excited to see how much bigger it is after the last 2.5 weeks.  I feel like there is a lot of change from 6 to 9 weeks.

Feelings about the appointment: I'm looking forward to the ultrasound, I think MH will be more emotional about it than he realizes

When is your next appointment: August 17th. 

Feelings about the appointment: There is always going to be some anxiety over the ultrasound part, but getting past that I am not looking forward to the glucose test discussion. I have such bad reactions to the drink that the Dr last time told me to opt out if we had a third, but now that the time has come I dread the conversation.

Feelings about the appointment: Scared but excited. I've never carried past 9 weeks I've always miscarried so making this far is a feat in of its own. Just wanna see that heartbeat again.

@Lcardinal04 do you know if it's the glucose you have a bad reaction to, or something else in the drink? If it's something else there are definitely other things you can eat/drink with the same amount of glucose in them. For example last time my midwife had me drink a set amount of orange juice instead. I hope you don't have the same reaction again this time around.

@Lcardinal04 TMI, I get terrible stomach issues with the glucose thing. I’m 2/4 of failing and having to do the 3 hour test. Hopefully you don’t have any trouble this time!

@jessier19 Good question! My doctor labeled it as acute-something. My first pregnancy I almost got physically ill and was really dizzy, and my last pregnancy I actually did pass out right after the blood draw and shake for a second (just a by product of the passing out). In both cases I actually passed the 1 hr with flying colors. I'll have to ask if maybe there are other options.

Feelings about the appointment: Nervous/excited of course H is allowed to come to this one and it’s the one day he can’t make it, but I think my mom will want to come

Feelings about the appointment: excited! I typically go around 4 weeks pregnant and it’s nice to go a little later and not have to worry if it’s viable. They put so much stress on it. I’m excited for the sonogram.

Had a MMC last summer at my 8-week scan, so this makes me nervous. If all goes well, then I'll be able to graduate to my OB and see her on 8/9 for an initial eval!

Feelings about appointment: Very nervous and excited! This will be my first early US. I hope all is well. I miscarried with my first pregnancy, so I’m always worried.

When is your next appointment: I had an appointment today! Next appointment isn't until 9/16 though 😢. Seems so far away. 

Feelings about the appointment: Appointment today went great. I ended up getting an ultrasound and baby looked perfect. We also ordered the NIPT test to be done at 11 weeks.

My first appointment is next Wednesday the 4th! I will be 7+1. I’m a bit nervous since this cycle started with an early miscarriage - that’s why Im going in next week for an initial viability scan. My following appointment is already scheduled for August 20th 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I’m 7+1 today. My first appt is Aug. 2nd. I’m pretty neutral about the appointment honestly. It will basically be a pregnancy conformation, probably get some prenatals prescribed, then start the appt process for being pregnant lol. I don’t think I will be getting an ultrasound since I know my last period. They usually do one this early if you don’t know your lmp date, or if there are issues of any kind.

I'm excited and nervous. My hcg test hasn't come back yet so that just adds. I hope baby is good! I'm going to stay positive. **tw** this is the 4th try as I mc the last 3 so I'm really hoping for a sticky baby

I had an ultrasound yesterday. It was good seeing a wiggly babe. 

I meet the dr next week and get the genetic testing done. Looking forward to making this a bit more real.

I’m 6w6d today. First appointment is tomorrow (8/10) and first US is next week. I’m so nervous!

I had an ultrasound today! Baby was measuring exactly on schedule (7+6) and had a great heart rate. S/he looked adorable, with a chubby belly and a big head. My RE said she would see me one more time next week for another ultrasound if I want one (before my first appointment with my midwife in two weeks) but I'm leaning toward skipping that. It doesn't really have any medical purpose at this point, and I think my anxiety will do better just keeping out of doctors' offices for now. I am feeling so excited and hopeful!

Had my first midwife appointment today. I was bummed because she tried to do a trans abdominal ultrasound but because my uterus is tilted she couldn’t really see much. She wasn’t concerned since my ultrasound last week (vaginal) was perfectly fine. Just annoyed to get excited to see baby and not get to. 

Labs and early glucose test next week along with NIPT. Scheduled my 12w ultrasound at the end of the month, which is exciting! We discussed a likely repeat c-section, which is what I think I’m most comfortable with given my not-awesome induction experience last time. My next visit will be with the OB, which may end up including a MFM referral given my age (40) plus history of epilepsy. Not unexpected, but I didn’t get an MFM referral last time so I’m guessing I’ll stick to my OB unless I start having issues.

Hi! I just had my first doc appt. and bc I have a tilted uterus, we did a transvaginal ultrasound. She said the baby is small and I could be 7.5 weeks instead of 9.5. I wish I could read this ultrasound because I'm curious what all the numbers mean. Regardless, it was an exciting day... finally all became with seeing the baby for the first time . Feeling truly blessed

Had my first apt today- they took that LMP date as calculation for the due date which is off by 3 from my actual ovulation day, but oh well. They only change due dates if the growth is showing 5 days or more difference. So the baby measured 8 weeks 3 days, which is in line with my dates. Due date was set at March 30, though I'm going to use March 28th. 

Heartbeat was 174, which was fine, and little bean was wiggling around. My Dr. today turned out to be the same Dr. who delivered my two girls, which is a crazy coincidence since its a large practice and you rotate through everyone during pregnancy. Since I was last pregnant they began doing the large 18 week ultrasound in house which is cool. They've always done any other ultrasounds bedside, but the 18 week we had to go somewhere else so nice that they moved that in house too. 

I got a prescription for nausea meds in case I want to use them. This 24 hours a day nausea nonsense is just annoying once you throw in keeping up with two kids, bath and nighttime routines.

@Lcardinal04 My 2 year old now pretends to throw up in her potty any time I'm in the bathroom throwing up. She leans over it spitting and coughing...it makes me laugh...but that makes me throw up even more. There is no winning:/ But YAY for a great ultrasound!!!!

I have my one hour gestational diabetes and NIPT/labs appointment today. I ate some eggs but I know I’m going to get hungry/nauseous with the wait. My sweet husband made me a second breakfast to have with me once I’m done. Just a PB and banana sandwich and some mixed nuts but he packed it himself (in the spoiler) and it’s too cute.

I had an OB appointment today.
Little nugget us still sticking! Beautiful little heart flicker, and he even let me take a video for DH!
He thinks I have a SCH. He's pretty sure he could see it on the tiny office US. So that would explain things.
I have my actual US on Monday so if he was right, they'll find it then and measure it.

He put me on another month of bed rest. He says once I hit 2nd tri, the SCH is less concerning. But he wants me doing nothing until then.

@goldfishcraker Yay for a beautiful little heartbeat 💓 Hopefully they can confirm the SCH on Monday! I'm glad they are having you stay on bedrest for the moment! How are you feeling?

But at least it explains the 3 bleeds.

Also, strangely, nausea has eased off some. 

I'm starting to get hopeful... I'll feel better once I hit 2nd tri though

Also anxious about talking to work about a medical leave. I JUST got back on the streets in February. 🤦

When is your next appointment: I had one yesterday! I don't go back for another month, 9/23.

Feelings about the appointment: Yesterday's appt went well! I didn't pass out at the blood draw, which is always a bonus. The OB couldn't quickly find the heartbeat on the Doppler so they did a quick tummy ultrasound and found it. I wasn't prepared so I barely saw on the screen!  But it was comforting to hear the heartbeat for a minute. It was 159, which they said was fine. I have to start taking a baby aspirin daily and we discussed Covid concerns.  She also wants me to reconsider declining the genetic screening, so DH and I will have to talk about that. Overall a good appointment!
