Healthy Living Check in 7/20

Hi guys! This is a thread for anyone who has any specific fitness or health goals during pregnancy, no matter how big or small they might be. This is just a little place to keep us accountable as we countdown to bringing home a new little bub!

What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)?

What is your goal for the week?

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal?

How are you doing in terms of staying on track?

Anything you want to celebrate this week?

Anything else you want to share?

Questions?

Re: Healthy Living Check in 7/20

  • What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)?

Get back to feeling comfortable in my clothes again (and my pre DD1 weight) and to continue my daily workouts throughout this pregnancy to make it easier to get back there afterwards!

What is your goal for the week?

Continue my daily workouts and to keep up the healthy eating.

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal?

Not so far...just exhaustion which kicked in yesterday. The girls go to sleep around 1:30am and I usually get up at 6am to work out, so I'm missing my sleep these days!

How are you doing in terms of staying on track?
Really well. Going on 9 months of not missing a day of working out! I've also been doing really well with the food lately too!

Anything you want to celebrate this week?
I have not had any junk food at all since I got my bfp 11 days ago...so I'm pretty proud of that.

Anything else you want to share?

    TW*******

I think part of the reason I'm eating so well is because I'm still worried this will end up being another loss...I gained the extra weight I have from my previous losses (not from my successful pregnancies) and I don't want to repeat that cycle. I don't want anything left over to remind me of the losses...if that makes sense...so I feel like this is my brain's new way of protecting its self...

    End TW********

    Questions?

Anyone planning on doing weights throughout? I wasn't going to but I'm thinking of throwing a very light weight routine back in (and when I say light I mean like 5 lbs light)...maybe...

  • What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)?
To maintain strength and not gain more weight than I need to.
What is your goal for the week?
To continue daily morning workouts, and eat healthier.
Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal?
Nausea. It's been hitting me towards the end of my workouts. Also, it makes me crave junkier foods, so I need to find healthier alternatives.
How are you doing in terms of staying on track?
I've made it to the gym every day, minus the weekends, this month.
Anything you want to celebrate this week?
Not having to quit a workout early due to nausea.

@Panaceia - I'm still lifting. I probably won't be upping my weights much, but I'll still be doing my usual barbell, dumbbell, and cable machine weights (eventually modifying when needed). I lifted all of my last pregnancy, up until delivery day at 40 weeks. That said, definitely do what is best for you and what you are comfortable with.

  • Thank you @smoresdoeuvres ! I stopped my weight routine shortly before getting pregnant but really want to start up again and continue it throughout pregnancy (again, nothing heavy, just because I really missed not doing it during my last pregnancy). I'll probably just do my free weight routine because it's all I'll have access to consistently, but it's soooooo good to hear that you've been able to continue it safely!!!! I think I might start adding it in today...
  • What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)?
Maintain. I already train pretty intensely, so my goal is to transition to modified versions as easily as possible. It's going to be tough for me to let go of max lifts at first.

What is your goal for the week?
Finish researching modifications for myself with my lifting--get MegSquat's pregnancy program to help guide me in programming my workouts.

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal?
    Mainly fatigue.

How are you doing in terms of staying on track?
So far so good, though it's hard to scale back.

Anything you want to celebrate this week?
All of it. I'm so dang happy to be expecting.

  • How long have you been on your health journey? I'm 5 weeks today and *tw* because of my pass losses I'm also eating well and working out. I'm trying to figure out a healthy workout plan but also trying to take it easy during the first trimester.
  • What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)? Keeping weight gain in a healthy place, staying mentally/emotionally healthy in terms of my relationship with my body

What is your goal for the week? Just staying sane as we prepare for our road trip. Being active every day and focusing on intuitive eating.

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal? Just time and fatigue.

How are you doing in terms of staying on track? Doing well. I did a low impact peloton ride this morning and i need to do those more often when I’m feeling blah.

Anything you want to celebrate this week? Can I celebrate pickles? I’m putting pickles on everything and I’m happy to have a healthy satisfying snack option.

Anything else you want to share? Natm

Questions? Any other peloton peeps? My handle is RunninRedhead if anyone else is looped into this particular cult. 😂
  • so i mostly just lurk on this thread because fitness goals are not my jam, BUT @rachelredhead
girl yes! my LB name is RocMorgan. If you're an early bird, i usually ride at 5:30 during the week!
  • @rachelredhead I will definitely celebrate pickles with you!!!! I think I went through a full jar of baby dills in under 24 hours this week....:)
