Went on a whale watch today with the family. First whale we come across we have a great view for it, DS wasn't too keen and was on the ground. Before I could grab him up, here comes running a young teen with phone up, knocks into an older lady who steps on DS hand. Now I have a screaming toddler with a bleeding squished finger on a boat in the middle of the ocean. Same young teen then runs the back of the boat and falls, what an A-hole. Staff was great, gave a bandaid, ice and a lollipop and even checked back in when we got off the boat.
@MaximumEffort ahhh I would LOVE to go on a whale watch and see some whales! I went on one whale watch forever ago with my mom but the boat was small and we ended up having to turn back because the waters were too rough. That sucks about the teen and your son getting injured though. What the heck?!
@MaximumEffort that’s terrible!! Hope you guys got to see a lot at least! We went on one this weekend too while visiting family out of state in Massachusetts. Where was yours out of?
@sonoshark88 we go on the Hyannis whale watch, it goes from Barnstable to the tip of Provincetown. Today we will go to Provincetown again and check out some of our favorite shops, the library and then to First Encounter beach.
@MaximumEffort I saw some whales just past the kelp the other day while I was walking along the coast but would love to see them up close. Whale watching tours around here don't allow pregnant women to come on board though, and I'm getting to a point where it's harder to pretend I'm just a lil' chubby. Sorry there were some idiots on your boat, though!
I know it's Wednesday (delayed rant), but I am already done with this week. I just feel so emotionally drained and overwhelmed by everything and anything that I can't think straight. I have the attention span of a goldfish and I'm having bad dreams.
Also, the Delta varient is worrying me as I'm on a visa and may need to go back to the UK to get that sorted, but that is still not an easy trip and requires 10 days quarantine, even for the fully vaccinated. I'm just feeling blue about not seeing my family in 1.5 years and my sister was supposed to visit me last year from Australia but that got cancelled, too. I've not seen her in 7 years.
@jenharvey84 my DD Nan was suppose to come visit us in CT from Australia around February this past year and COVID ruined that. I hate how this has caused so much strain on people.
Today my work is a TW, after I got off my therapy phone call a coworker wrote to say the hospital doesn't want us wearing our own respirators even though they can't supply us STILL with N95, they had us wearing knock offs and construction site N95s, they give us too many patients and care about their happiness scores instead of "but did they die?". Work can kiss my butt, I'm in mental therapy, I'm injured from them which is causing so much strain in my life. They should just be happy that we are still there seeing as we lost >10 nurses this year and more are leaving.
@jenharvey84 so many hugs your way, I’m so sorry, I can’t imagine having to be so far from family. Covid has ruined so much and it is all so exhausting.
@MaximumEffort I genuinely don’t know how you guys in healthcare are still doing this, and to see how shittily you guys are treated by your employers is awful. You are amazing ❤️❤️ I’m sorry you have to deal with that.
@MaximumEffort nice!! Ours went out of Plymouth and up towards Cape Cod, I think? It was fun, we saw about 8 whales. My 5 year old was kind of into it and then if there wasn’t anything going on he wanted to lay down lol. We missed a baby whale jumping out of the water, he was soo disappointed. That sucks you had crappy people on yours, hope your son is ok!

Sorry to be so glum today
